"Koji and this is Yokomon," stated Koji pointing out the pink ball with a blue flower.

"So am I," added Shiranui. He had never been in a tag team double battle before.

"Great," mused Koji while he was being urged along, "I end up in a crazy world and next thing I know I'm being pushed by two ball-like creatures into meeting more people."

Shiranui nodded and the duo headed for the gym.

"Too bad I don't have any," said Shiranui. He wanted to enter the tournament and the only way he can figure out how was to catch one himself. "It's also too bad that the Fighting-type Pokémon I like are not found here," mused Shiranui.

Digimon

"I'm Koji," replied Koji.
"Are you feeling okay?" asked Yokomon.
"Physically, yes," answered Koji, "I'm just not very good with people."

"Yes, let's," Shiranui agreed and returned to the Pokémon Center to heal his Pokémon. He kept Titania on his team as the Gardevoir was very resistant to Fighting-type moves.

"You're not the only one!" Yokomon replied and Koji arrived at where the two Digimon met. He was struck dumb at the sight of a ball wearing a helmet talking to Yokomon. Yokomon saw Koji arrive and introduced her partner. "Kapurimon, this is my partner Koji. Koji, this is my friend Kapurimon."
"Uh, hello," Koji awkwardly greeted.

Koji woke up in a forest. "Where am I?" he pondered out loud, "Did I get spirited away somewhere?" Just then he heard a cheer and he saw a pink ball with a blue flower hopping towards him. "You're here at last!" the ball cheered in a high-pitched feminine voice.
"Do I know you?" Koji asked, "Better question: what are you?"
"I'm Yokomon and I'm a Digimon, short for Digital Monster," the pink ball introduced, "I like your laptop, by the way."
"Thanks," Koji replied.
"Why does that bird have a third leg?" Yokomon asked, pointing out the three-legged crow on Koji's laptop..
"That's Yatagarasu," answered Koji, "It's the Shinto crow-god of guidance."
"Fascinating," replied Yokomon, "Anyway, we should find the others."
"Wait, what?" Before Koji could get an elaboration, Yokomon hopped away and Koji followed after grabbing his laptop.

"I'd say we take on the Fighting Dojo first," answered Shiranui, "This will keep us sharp for when we take on the official gym, which is a Psychic-type gym and one of the toughest in the region." Shiranui was still feeling horrified inside for hearing Giovanni's plans.
