"Sure thing," Shiranui acknowledged, feeling curious.
The heroes eventually neared the other end of the Ice Path.
"Tachi, help us out!" Shiranui let his Espeon out. "Tachi, I want you to lead us through to Blackthorn City. Can you do it?" The Espeon nodded in answer and felt through her fur any minute shifts in the air that indicated a well-travelled path. Tachi started walking deeper into the cave and Shiranui followed.
"I agree," replied Shiranui, knowing that a trek through the Ice Path is dangerous to the unprepared.
A Swinub ran into Shiranui's leg as it was hunting for food. Shiranui sent Kaki out and discovered after the Charizard used Flamethrower that the Swinub had the Thick Fat ability, allowing it to survive a Charizard's attack. "Poké Ball, go!" Swinub was drawn in and after only 15 seconds of shaking, the ball pinged shut. "I'm calling you Buta," said Shiranui as he put the Swinub's ball away due to it being an extra Pokémon yet to be stored.
"A Zubat in the Ice Path?" Shiranui asked rhetorically, "Why would a Pokémon live in an environment that their type has a disadvantage to?"
"If only there were more people like you," mused Shiranui out loud as he entered the Ice Path.
"I'm as ready as I'll ever be," answered Shiranui, determined to not let the cold get the better of him, "That was a good thing you did, helping that Rattata."
"We haven't even entered there and already it's getting cold," stated Shiranui, "It's like the Seafoam Islands back in Kanto."
