"Ah yes, the region that gave rise to Pokémon Contests," stated Shiranui, "I wouldn't mind showing off my Pokémon in that way."

Pokemon: Kalos

"Our options are Unova, Hoenn or Sinnoh," stated Shiranui, "I'm leaning towards Unova."

Pokemon: Kalos

"I haven't really thought about that to be honest," answered Shiranui, "Have you got any ideas?"

Pokemon: Kalos

"Yes," answered Shiranui, ready to head out.

Pokemon: Kalos

"Hoopa, eh?" Shiranui contemplated out loud, receiving his Pokémon, "You're probably right, Liam. I'm sure this Hoopa will show up sooner or later."

As did Shiranui. While he waited, he saw a golden ring appear right in front of him out of thin air with a swirling purple mass inside. The ring was a small portal and out of it came a Heat Rock, a Gengarite and a note. "What's this?" he asked to himself as he picked up the items and read the note, which was written in Unown.

"Liam, who's H?" asked Shiranui.

"Yes, we shall," answered Shiranui. He wondered what kind of competition he would face in the Kalos League.

Next up was Shiranui. Wulfric sent Abomasnow out and Shiranui sent Higitsune out. "Another Delphox, eh? Abomasnow, use Earthquake!"
"Higitsune, Fire Blast!" The Delphox pulled his stick out and flames issued forth from the stick, forming a 大 glyph. Abomasnow was engulfed in the flames and was left scorched and knocked out.

Wulfric switched Abomasnow for Cryogonal and Shiranui scanned the snowflake. "Cryogonal, the Crystallizing Pokémon. They are composed of ice crystals. They capture prey with chains of ice, freezing the prey at –148°F." He switched Higitsune out and sent the newly-evolved Tsudzumaru into battle.
"Cryogonal, Solar Beam!"
"Tsudzumaru, start with Stealth Rock!" While Cryogonal started powering up for an attack, Tsudzumaru let off some sparkles that formed rocks over Wulfric's side of the battlefield. The rocks buried themselves into the ground, poised to strike the next Pokémon to come out. "Tsudzumaru, Stone Edge!" Cryogonal fired a beam of sunlight that blasted Tsudzumaru, but the Gigalith survived thanks to his Sturdy ability. Unfortunately, the hail inflicted the last bit of damage needed to knock Tsudzumaru out.

"Tsudzumaru, return; Yoto, I choose you!" Shiranui recalled his Gigalith while the Aegislash on his back drew himself out and was poised for battle.
"Cryogonal, Night Slash!"
"Yoto, King's Shield!" The Aegislash remained motionless, tracking Cryogonal as it spun towards the kingly sword. Cryogonal struck Yoto's shield with a loud clang that sharply lowered its Attack stat.
"Cryogonal, Confuse Ray!"
"Yoto, Sacred Sword!" Cryogoanl let off a flash of bright light that rendered Yoto confused. The Aegislash switched to his Blade Forme and fought the confusion enough to pull off a technique known only to a certain quartet of legendaries and his own evolution line, slashing Cryogonal into a one-hit knockout.

Wulfric switched to Avalugg and the Stealth Rock trap triggered, striking Avalugg for a decent amount of damage. "Avalugg, Avalanche!"
"Yoto, King's Shield!" The Aegislash switched back to his Shield Forme after snapping out of his confusion and blocked Avalugg's attack, harshly lowering its Attack stat.
"Avalugg, Curse!"
"Yoto, Flash Cannon!" Yoto switched to his Blade Forme again and intensified the light that glistened off the blade, dazzling Avalugg with a critical hit. The iceberg fell and Shiranui won the Iceberg Badge.

"Ready and raring!" answered Shiranui. He thought of what Pokémon he'd use.

Shiranui did as well, altering his party in the process.
