Shiranui sat at the table curious about the man in the Alolan shirt.
"Indeed," Shiranui agreed, "That Wally sure was a challenge."
"I'm glad you didn't at that point in time," replied Shiranui, returning Zoro, "Wait until they strike before we pursue them—if it ever happens. Right now, they're only selling snacks and making an honest Pokédollar for once."
Zoro bought the goods Shiranui asked for and Shiranui himself stepped out to meet up with his disguised Zoroark. "Thank you, Zoro," he said, "Liam, snack time!"
Shiranui went out of sight, called Zoro out and had the Zoroark buy two of each item from Team Rocket. Zoro assumed the guise of an average-looking member of the audience and went off to make the purchase. While he waited, he thought about who giggled in his mind earlier. "I've been looking all over for you, moon child," a feminine psychic voice spoke. The legendary Latias made herself visible right next to Shiranui.
"Latias?" Shiranui whispered.
"That's me," answered Latias, "I want to come with you on your journey so I'll be with my brother again."
"I'm fine with that," replied Shiranui, opening his bag and showing Latias his Poké Balls, "Take your pick." Latias looked through the bag and picked out a Great Ball.
"This one reminds me so much of my dear brother," she stated.
"That it does," Shiranui agreed. Latias tapped the capture button and was caught within seconds. "Welcome aboard, Kakureru."
Shiranui was watching Liam's battle in the stands and when he heard concessions being sold he looked over with interest and saw none other than Jessie, James and Meowth of Team Rocket selling the concessions. "Last time I saw those three, I had to rescue Liam and some stolen Pokémon before the Kalos League grand final," he mused, debating on whether to buy anything from them, "It has been one crazy year since we crossed paths and considering they're not that bright (except maybe Jessie), they may not recognise me."

The first semi-final battle was on and Wally opened with a Magnezone. Sunakaba had set up a Stealth Rock and Shiranui switched the Hippowdon for Niwatori after Magnezone used Magnet Rise to make itself immune to Ground attacks. A Fire Blast and a Quick Attack finished off Magnezone. Wally sent out Azumarill next and Shiranui switched Niwatori out for Manectric. Needless to say, one Thunder attack was enough to knock Azumarill out.
Next was Garchomp and Shiranui switched Manectric out for Hoshi. Garchomp was swiftly defeated by a Blizzard attack compliments of Hoshi. Shiranui kept Hoshi out when Wally sent out his Roserade. Roserade had suffered a critical hit from Hoshi's Psychic attack and was thus knocked out.
Wally sent out his Talonflame and Shiranui now knew how others felt when they battled Honoh. A critical hit from Talonflame's Acrobatics attack left Hoshi's core flashing. Shiranui sent Manectic out for another round. After Manectric was hit by an Acrobatics attack—doing a lot of damage for a resisted hit—she conjured a storm cloud and zapped Talonflame into submission with a Thunderbolt.
Shiranui knew the real battle was starting when Wally called out his headliner Gallade. He switched Manectric out and sent in Titania. Both battlers had mega evolved and while Gallade was slashing Titania left and right with multiple Leaf Blades, Titania soon had him on the ropes through a Psychic attack and a souped-up Hyper Voice. Gallade's right fist glowed with a putrid purple colour as he got a Poison Jab ready. Titania however used Destiny Bond before she was struck for enough damage to knock her out. The Gardevoir's Destiny Bond took Gallade out as well and Shiranui advanced to the grand final where he would likely face Liam once again.

After Shiranui had his Pokémon healed, he went for a stroll through the markets and into the local Mart where he was flagged down by a second clerk. "Hey, do you have a minute for a story? This is something that happened when I was watching the store one time…It was, like, a totally dark night. Moonless. And I was all, 'No way! This is so-o-o-o creepy!' Then, suddenly—whoosh! Out of nowhere, the automatic sliding door…slides open. And then this super-duper-scary old guy comes in, kinda unsteady, you know? Kinda shambling… So I'm thinking how terrible and scary is this, and then the old guy shuffles over to me… He has a package, like, clutched in his hands… He's mumbling that he has to show it to me… Then he asks, 'Do you know what this is worth?' He keeps staring right at me and not even blinking. I was so freaked out. I was, like…'Oh yes. It's, uh, really something, isn't it?' So the old guy grins at me, and he says… 'Then I'll just give you this instead of money. Now give me everything you've got in this store!' That's what he said! Really! I was like, 'What is this? Too weird, my dude!' But I was scared, so I started shoveling over Potions and, like, whatever I could reach. I gave the dude everything for his stupid package. And out he goes, like, with a wicked grin on his face… As he's walking out, he says, 'Three days… For a mere three days will Hoopa be unbound…' Really! I was all, 'Stop freaking me out with this nonsense!' I was, like, sweating. The back of my shirt was soaked. Anyway, nothing I could do, so I open the package. It's just a dirty old bottle. Li-i-i-i-ike, really. So I go, 'Weirdness. Wonder what's in it.' I grab the stopper and carefully pull it loose. Blapt! It popped open, but there was nothing inside! So I figure I totally got fooled. …Thanks for listening to my story. Know what? I'm gonna give you the bottle from that night 'cause you're so nice. It's not doing me any good anyway. Really.

"Sometimes I wonder if it really is only a dirty old bottle. Those last words that the old guy said as he left… 'For a mere three days will Hoopa be unbound…' Just can't seem to get that out of my head…"
"Thanks," replied Shiranui, receiving the Prison Bottle. He returned to the markets and looked around at the wares, hoping to find items imported from another region.
"Thunder!" Hoshi jumped into the air and with its core glowing yellow, started spinning very fast. Electricity arced between the Starmie's limbs as Hoshi prepared to strike Politoed with lightning.
"Thunder!" Politoed executed its attack first and the damage was enough to knock Manectric out. "Manectric, return; Hoshi, I choose you!" Shiranui switched his downed Manectric for his Starmie.
