Shiranui saw Sashia perform a similar dance to the tourist back at Vermilion. "That's one of those Z-Moves! Yoto, King's Shield!" Yoto's shield gave off a brief flash before the Aegislash was engulfed in shadows. When the shadows disappeared, Yoto had taken major damage, but survived the powerful move thanks to his shield and high Special Defence stat. Shiranui discovered that Z-Moves cannot be fully protected against and he lost a lot of points from the move.

"Yoto, Sunny Day!" The Aegislash performed a series of movements befitting of a magical sword casting a spell. The snowstorm ended prematurely and was replaced by heavy sunlight that glistened off Yoto's metallic body as well as the ice that covered the battlefield.
Yoto was blasted for some major damage. "Yoto, King's Shield!" The Aegislash flipped around, changed back to his Shield Forme and was prepared to block Ice Fox's next attack.
"Yoto, Iron Head!" The Aegislash changed to his Blade Forme and shot out towards Ice Fox, ready to strike a devastating blow.
"Yoto, stab that blade into the ice and make it hazardous!" The Aegislash thrust his blade into the ice and infused it with Toxic, giving it a purple sheen.
"Yoto, start with Autotomize!" The Aegislash shed parts of his blade off, boosting his Speed greatly.
Shiranui accepted Sashia's kind gesture and realised that Ice Fox had the Snow Warning ability hence the hail. "Yoto, en garde!" His shiny Aegislash drew himself out from Shiranui's back and faced the Alolan Ninetales in his Shield Forme, getting some awestruck reactions from the audience as well.
Shiranui finished preparing Yoto and took his place in the arena.
Shiranui decided to prepare his Aegislash for the contest after seeing Sashia do the same with her Alolan Ninetales. While sharpening Yoto's blade with a sharpening stone he thought about pairing Zoro with Ice Fox at the local Daycare Centre.
"I would not have it any other way," replied Shiranui.
