"Good advice," Shiranui agreed.
Shiranui knew beaches had their hazards, but after the recent incident he would never look at a sandcastle the same way again. "Just about anything could potentially be a Pokémon these days," he mused, "What next, ice cream?"
"Sorry," Shiranui apologised to Mike. To Chuck he explained, "Sandygast possesses anyone who puts a hand in its mouth and the victim keeps unceasingly adding to its form. Mike was right—I should've known better than to get tunnel-visioned over the sight of a shiny when a child is having its life force drained away by said shiny."
"So who wants to capture this Sandygast?" Shiranui offered.
Shiranui investigated the "deadly" sand and heard Mike's take on the situation. He called Zoro out and had the Zoroark (disguised as Mike's Decidueye) on standby. He scanned the Sandygast after Hood's attack revealed its true form. "Sandygast, the Sand Heap Pokémon. Born from a sand mound playfully built by a child, this Pokémon embodies the grudges of the departed. It takes control of anyone who puts a hand in its mouth. And so it adds to the accumulation of its sand-mound body."
"This one's a shiny," he deduced after comparing the Pokédex's image with the Pokémon in question, "Mike, you're right about the species."
Shiranui arrived not long after Liam and thanked his Mantine for the lift.
Shiranui found his balance quickly thanks to his Ninjutsu training and waited for when everyone was ready to go.
Shiranui noted the rendezvous point on his Pokénav app and picked out a Mantine. He was puzzled over Team Skull's antics. "There's something bugging me about Team Skull," he said, "The way they act is more like a small-time street gang from Lumiose City than any criminal or eco-terrorist Team planning on world domination/destruction."
Shiranui collected his Pokémon from the local Nurse Joy and was ready to go Mantine surfing with the others.
She then turned her attention to everyone as she said "There are two ways to get to Akala Island, boat or Mantine surf. Mantine surf is more fun but you could hurt yourself"

"Where would be the fun if you don't take risks?" Shiranui asked rhetorically after handing Okami, Ikari and Ashika over to the local Nurse Joy for healing. He thought riding the legendary Suicune as it crossed oceans was riskier than surfing on a Mantine, but withheld that titbit of information.
