Shiranui arranged his party to his normal line-up after having Hoshi healed. He was curious about what Pokémon the aforementioned blonde kid would have that matched the description and was looking through his Pokédex. The only other possibilities he found were the local variants of Vulpix and Ninetales.

"Nicely done," Shiranui congratulated while Hoshi did likewise for Sludge.

"Hoshi, Blizzard!" The Starmie jumped up and started spinning before a blizzard blew over the whole battlefield.

Hoshi was hit by the Rock Slide. "Hoshi, counter Goodra's attack with Ice Beam!" The Starmie's core glowed a bright cyan as it fired a lightning-like beam of ice energy at Goodra's Dragon Pulse.

"Incineroar, Darkest Lariat on Hoshi!" The Masked Royal called, joining the other two for a three-pronged attack on Shiranui's Starmie.
"Hoshi, Reflect Type on Sludge!" The Starmie put its notoriously high Speed to work and copied Sludge's type, making it a Poison/Dark type and giving it the ability to resist the incoming attacks. Goodra's attack struck first, Incineroar struck with both its fists and Sludge gnawed at Hoshi's uppermost limb.

"Hoshi, I choose you!" Shiranui sent his Starmie out and Hoshi twirled their rear set of limbs. Shiranui was looking over the opposing battlers and formulating strategies.
