Before Shiranui could start catching up to Chuck and Liam, he saw a Beldum charging at him and sent Tsuchi out before throwing a Quick Ball at Beldum. Beldum was drawn in and Shiranui waited the longest half a minute of his life before the ball snapped shut. He named his newest addition Yuugou and soon afterwards, Tsuchi let off a glow of bright white light as the Mudbray jack evolved to a 25-hand Mudsdale stallion. Shiranui looked up Mudsdale on his Pokédex. "Mudsdale, the Draft Horse Pokémon and the evolved form of Mudbray. It remains calm and unmoving no matter the situation. It mixes dirt with the saliva in its mouth to make a special kind of mud." He noticed Tsuchi was half a hand taller than the listed height.

Shiranui mounted Tsuchi bareback with a leap and the duo set off after Chuck and Liam, wanting to see for himself the enormity of a Celesteela.

Shiranui looked up the two Ultra Beasts on his Pokédex. "Xurkitree, the Glowing Pokémon (alias: UB-03 Lightning). They've been dubbed Ultra Beasts. Some of them stand unmoving, like trees, with their arms and legs stuck into the ground."

"Celesteela, the Launch Pokémon (alias: UB-04 Blaster). One of the dangerous UBs, high energy readings can be detected coming from both of its huge arms."

"Am I reading this right?" asked a surprised Shiranui, "According to this, Celesteela weighs a ton and is around half the height of the Bell Tower at Ecruteak City."

Shiranui disembarked and watched Sashia with amusement. "She'd make a fair kunoichi," he mused.

"It's a sound theory," Shiranui agreed, knowing the local electric rodent shared both types.

"What trial we do end up undertaking first would be a matter of personal preference," stated Shiranui, "As for strategies against the Totems, my research has led me to speculate that the Steel Totem is the local variant of Dugtrio and the Electric Totem we face is either a Vikavolt or a Togedemaru."

Shiranui boarded the bus and pondered over what trial he wanted to take on first.

"In that case; Mt. Hokulani, here we come!"

"What trials would they be?" Shiranui inquired.

Shiranui spotted a gold Team Skull necklace on the platinum blonde's person in the chaos that ensued from Maui's bite. "Hold it right there!" he crowed before addressing Prof. Kukui, "Professor, we got here as quick as we could." To the other guy he warned, "As for you, Skull brain, we're putting an end to your little turf war or whatever other thing you're cooking up in Alola!"

"Cannot fault that logic," replied Shiranui, bracing himself for a battle as he went with Chuck.
