Shiranui took his place and sent Nayamashii out. He was tempted to use Tsuchi after hearing of the strategy from Chuck, but after seeing Togedemaru use Magnet Rise he switched his strategy. "Nayamashii, let's make this a quick one! Use Inferno Overdrive!" Shiranui activated his Z-Power Ring and performed the dance for Inferno Overdrive with Nayamashii dancing in sync with her trainer. The underside of Nayamashii's tail ignited and charged with Z-Power, the Salazzle breathed out an intense flame that left Togedemaru carbonised and knocked out.

Shiranui gave Togedemaru a Revive and sprayed it with a Full Restore in case Nayamashii's attack left a lingering burn. Togedemaru was grateful, gave Shiranui a Steelium Z and showed him the dance for the move Corkscrew Crash.

Shiranui left the observatory and started seeking the Totem Togedemaru that resided at the Steel trial site. He checked out his quarry on his Pokédex. "Togedemaru, the Roly-Poly Pokémon. The spiny fur on its back is normally at rest. When this Pokémon becomes agitated, its fur stands on end and stabs into its attackers."

Jen is happy that Liam and Shiranui won their battles against the Totem. She quickly recalls Moana back as a bone statue sways a little bit but does not fall to the ground. “You can gives us the heads up, Chuck and I can give you the heads up on the Steel Totem.”

"The totem you'll face for the Electrium Z is a Vikavolt," Shiranui warned.

"Did you want a heads-up on the totem or would you prefer to see for yourself what you'll face?" Shiranui asked.

"Thanks," replied Shiranui, "We were about to make our way to the Steel trial."

Shiranui challenged the local Totem to a battle and the large Pokémon emerged, revealing itself as a Vikavolt. He scanned the totem with his Pokédex. "Vikavolt, the Stag Beetle Pokémon and the evolved form of Charjabug. Vikavolt flusters opponents with acrobatic flying maneuvers. This creates an opening for it to deliver an electric beam attack."
"And yet it's ironically slow according to the stat ratio," Shiranui mused, "Okami, I choose you!" Shiranui's Midday Lycanroc emerged and was poised for battle. "Let's end this quickly, Okami! Use Splintered Stormshards!" Shiranui twisted the Lycanium Z on his Z-Power Ring and performed the dance normally used for Continental Crush. Okami let out a howl, causing lots of sharp rocks to burst out of the still-intact observatory floor and did a somersault. Shiranui brought his hands together as if he was imitating a Feraligatr snapping up its prey and the shards aligned their tips towards Vikavolt before they launched at their target with Okami joining the fray. Vikavolt was bombarded by the onslaught for enough damage to knock it out in one hit.

Shiranui was awarded the Electrium Z by a scientist and said scientist demonstrated the dance for the Z-Move Gigavolt Havoc. He gave Vikavolt a Revive and some Sitrus Berries and stepped aside to watch Liam take his turn.

Sashia nodded to their plans as she said " I'll leave the trials to you guys, Mike tried to call me before the Ultra Beasts showed up so he might have found something on Poni Island"
