"Do you think they'll still be open?" Shiranui inquired as it was dark outside.
Shiranui decided to challenge Forrest for the badge. The latter called a Geodude out and Shiranui called out Titania. "Geodude, Defence Curl!"
"Titania, Double Team!" The Ralts made copies of herself as Geodude curled up.
"Geodude, Rollout!"
"Titania, Confusion!" Geodude started rolling, but got caught in Titania's psychic grip and was sent off course. When Geodude stopped rolling due to its missed attack, it appeared to be dizzy.
"Geodude, Rollout!"
"Titania, Confusion once more!" Geodude felt a pulse of psychic energy and due to it being confused, it tripped over and fell into a knockout.
Forrest switched Geodude for a Rhyhorn. Shiranui pulled out his Pokédex and scanned the Rhyhorn. "Rhyhorn, the Spikes Pokémon. Strong, but not too bright, this Pokémon can shatter even a skyscraper with its charging Tackles."
"Rhyhorn, Stomp!"
"Titania, Double Team!" Rhyhorn was only marginally faster than the preceding Geodude as Titania quickly made more copies. Rhyhorn stomped a foot on one of the Ralts', which vanished.
"Rhyhorn, Fury Attack!"
"Titania, Confusion!" The Ralts sent a pulse of psychic energy at the charging Rhyhorn and the attack struck a weak spot. Three more copies vanished from Rhyhorn's Fury Attack.
"Rhyhorn, Stomp!"
"Titania, finish it off with Confusion!" Titania used her psychic powers to alter Rhyhorn's course and as a result, Rhyhorn crashed into the wall and fell. Shiranui won the Boulder Badge.

Luckily for them, the gym was still open. "Who shall go first?" asked Shiranui.

Liam was ready to head to the gym.
"Liam, let's head for the gym," said Shiranui, wanting to leave the lovebirds to their activities.
"They're good with double battles because of their abilities," stated Shiranui.
Shiranui had Titania practice her Confusion attack on a Weedle that appeared, soon knocking it out.
"It's not often you find a wild starter," commented Shiranui.
Shiranui spotted a Shinx that was ready to pounce a Pidgey. He watched on with silent amusement while readying Fushigi's Poké Ball as the Shinx pounced and startled the Pidgey into taking off. Shiranui noticed from the blue hind feet that the Shinx was female. He let Fushigi out and Shinx soon noticed the newcomer. "Fushigi, Tackle!" Both Pokémon charged at each other and their attacks met like two footballers colliding. "Tackle once more!" Fushigi charged at Shinx again as Shinx glared with her Leer attack. "Poké Ball, go!" Shiranui threw a Poké Ball at the charging Shinx and she was drawn in. He waited until the ball stopped shaking and a ding was heard. "My first battle-involved capture," he stated mostly to himself, but Fushigi felt proud to be a part of it. "Welcome to the team, Shishi."
"You might find some Minun here if you found a Plusle," stated Shiranui.
"I'm ready," answered Shiranui, smiling from how good Liam was at the battle.
