In his mind, anything worth doing is worth doing at the highest level. That perfection is unobtainable is no excuse not to strive for it. He demands the absolute best of himself and will not stop until he achieves it. Spoiler alert, his best is never good enough for him and no one will ever be able to be as critical of Andre as he is of himself. If You Want Something Done Right... Just as the saying goes, Andre must do everything right all the time because he's a perfectionist but he also doesn't trust anyone else to help him. What a fun combination. From his earliest memories he can recall his father and brothers only offering him assistance when they could hold it over his head. Every time someone close to him has helped him they would later point to it as something he was too weak to do himself. Keep Up or Keep Back Andre knows what he's capable of and strives to improve himself constantly; day in and day out. His dedication to knighthood is unshakable and he can sometimes become frustrated with people who "aren't trying hard enough". Simple mistakes and general incompetence never fail to irritate him. To this end he may offer his two cents in his own abrasive way and while his advice is always helpful, the value of it can get lost in his less than tactful delivery. // SKILLSET S K I L L S E T Literature Nerd His reading comprehension is surprisingly advanced for someone so driven to become a martial master. It started with him pouring over old manuscripts of fighting techniques which turned into him reading accounts written by knights of old. This further progressed into him reading grand poems and epics of legendary battles. It's the one non-physically demanding hobby he can enjoy that allows him to lie to himself and say he's actually studying how to be a more effective fighter instead of being lazy by not practicing with a weapon every waking minute. He's actually quite knowledgeable about a large number of battles, stories, and poems from as far back as the post-Dark Age transition. Better Than a Master of One Almost from the moment he could walk Andre was taught to use weapons of war. Swords, spears, and bows with a particular affinity for maces and war hammers. Being a child he has yet to achieve mastery of any singular weapon, he is undeniably proficient with most common weapons. Magical Aptitude: Earth Andre has the ability to shift small sections of the landscape to his advantage and even this small power was hard to earn. Magic did not come as easy to him as other aspects of his training, but through enough determination and grit he has achieved respectable skill. He can raise stone walls to shield himself from arrows, erect pillars to disrupt and distract opponents, and even launch himself a few feet if he raises a pillar directly beneath himself with enough force. Doing these sorts of changes take considerable effort on his part and moving sections of Earth much larger than an average person quickly exhausts him.

Physical Description A younger version of what everyone would expect a knight to be. Andre is tall and muscular, sporting broad shoulders and strong hands. His features are angular with a masculinity more subtle than one would expect given his personality and upbringing. His piercing gaze seems to silently pick apart your every flaw and note them, even ones you don't realize you have. He smiles rarely and only slightly on those precious few occasions, otherwise his lips are pressed into a semi-permanent frown. Andre's voice leans toward a lower pitch but he's still in the late stages of puberty so it will undoubtedly shift even lower with time. Character Conceptualization Andre was born the youngest of seven brothers, three of whom have already achieved the status of knighthood. From his earliest days, Andre was "guided" down his current path by his father and older brothers. His head was filled with dreams of grandeur and stories of knights long dead. He was given everything he needed to succeed and he did time and time again, but he also knew from a very young age that his father's love was contingent on his martial prowess and were it not for that he would be cast aside like his brothers before him who could not rise to the challenge. No matter, he will carve out his destiny to become the fourth Grandbough knight of this generation. After all, how could he not? He's been told all his life how he's destined for greatness and he can achieve everything he's ever dreamed... provided he doesn't stand in his own way. Other Information > He did very well in the initial sparring tournament but was still unhappy with his own performance. > The Grandbough family has quickly gained even more fame in the last decade for producing so many Sentinel Knights and many curious eyes are upon Andre as a result.

@webboysurf I really like that character idea! I had a similar idea for a skilled, non-magical knight but I was planning to take it in the opposite direction of someone very skilled and driven but not as good at playing nice with the other kids. A real "There's no I in team but there's one in winner" type who learns that he cannot, in fact, do literally everything himself and needs to put his trust in others and embrace the power of friendship to succeed

::APPEARANCE:: A man of decent bulk standing just over 6' with rough, perpetually dirty hands. His clothes are often frumpy and wrinkled with various stains and tears adoring everything he owns. He practically lives in jeans and ratty flannel shirts and doesn't put too much stock into his appearance. His face tends to have anywhere from a few days to several months of beard scruff he periodically and randomly decides to shave. That being said, his personal hygiene is surprisingly good. He brushes his teeth every day, showers every day, uses deodorant, the whole nine yards. He might look a bit dingy but he never smells bad.

When doing his superish-hero thing, he wears a pair of mechanic's gloves to minimize cuts and scrapes along with elbow and knee pads and his old football helmet from high-school. Go Eagles!

He can pulverize bricks into sand with only grip strength, flip trucks with mild effort, crack solid asphalt with a stomp, and snap steel chains like they were made of wet paper. The catch is that he doesn't know how (or if he even can) tone down this incredible power. He now lives in a world made of tissues and glue and even the smallest, most mundane activity becomes difficult or even impossible. Opening a door takes him several long moments to ensure he doesn't crush the handle or tear it off its hinges. Getting dressed in the morning is still a work in progress and he's turned several shirts into dish rags. Holding pencils? Forget about it. A hug? He wouldn't inflict that on his worst enemy. Daniel hasn't so much as touched his daughter in weeks for fear of outright killing her.

Any sort of combat is a delicate balance between not immediately turning his opponent into extra chunky People Salsa™ and not getting himself killed in the process. For all his strength, he's not invulnerable and would be just as dead as anyone else if he was shot or stabbed in a vital area or hit by a car or shocked by an electric pokemon.

::SKILLS:: Years of experience have made him a skilled tradesman in the construction of commercial buildings and he can operate a wide variety of tools, both powered and manual, with great efficiency. He's also worryingly good at carnival games and has a knack for party games such as corn hole and beer pong. Daniel also plays a mean game of Texas Holdem.

::EQUIPMENT:: The less stuff he brings the less stuff he can break so he tries to not bring anything but his clothes.

::PERSONALITY:: Independent, talkative, and somewhat fatherly despite his age. Daniel used to caring for someone else be it his younger brothers or his daughter and will always lend a hand if he's able. He can be a tad stubborn and prefers to just power through a difficult situation rather than "waste time" trying to find a work around. Why work smarter when you can just work harder?

::BIOGRAPHY:: His early life was rather average save for his stellar record as a high-school football wide receiver. He met his daughter's mother at a party thrown by the quarterback and ended up dating Jackie for a few weeks before she ended up pregnant with little Kayla. Daniel made it his responsibility to step up and be a father and partner at the tender age of 16, much to his parents' dismay. His parents loved their sons dearly and didn't think Jackie was any good for him. In the following years they'd be proven right.

It was easy for Daniel to dismiss the odd bruises and cuts as him being clumsy. After all, who would think a boy of his size who goes to the gym for fun could be hurt like that by such a small woman? The police surely didn't think it was possible, so why would anyone else believe him? His parents realized his explanations didn't always make sense but thought nothing of it until it came out during the child custody case and only by the fact Jackie was also facing drug charges at the time did Daniel gain full custody of their daughter. Now a full time parent, Daniel finished high-school by the skin of his teeth and immediately went to work full time while living with his parents. Until his brothers left for college together and he moved into an apartment with them. The arrangement works for him in that they take turns watching their niece during the day while he earns most of the rent.

Daniel makes a point to not watch the news, believing that it only makes people miserable, so he didn't make the connection between his sudden ridiculous strength and the meteor until someone waiting at the bus stopped mentioned it while trying to make small talk with him. For Daniel, these powers are a curse and he wants nothing more than for things to go back to normal, but since that doesn't seem possible, he figures he might as well do some good in ways other people can't.

As for defensive ability, he essentially has net 0. He's immune to the effects of his own power but second order effects could still kill him. He won't get hurt by smashing that pillar but if big chunks of rubble fall on him he could be seriously injured or even killed; a major glass cannon.

OTKO is a possibility but the problem is he's constantly playing that arcade game where you try to hit the button just right but if he goes over someone gets turned into ground beef and he's not too keen on being a murderer so he often WAY under swings when trying to hit opponents
