Bio

Hey all, JB here.

I'm a DM for a large number of games here on RPG, as well as a player in several others. Many of the games I run are overly complex, or they involve Dungeons and Dragons (which is also overly complex!).

I work 40+ hours a week, and am the proud father of two tiny terrors named Chibi and Chibette and married to my beautiful Wifey. As such, I am quite busy more often than not. I typically write 2-5 paragraphs per reply and try to maintain an excellent level of grammar. If you noticed me glancing at your profile, I probably was looking to see if you would be a good match for my RPing style. Even if I didn't send a PM to you, feel free to send one back!

I enjoy 1x1 RPs and small groups. I'm fond of medieval, steampunk, and futuristic settings, and I'll jump into romance, adventure, and slice of life RPs fairly quickly, although supernatural (vampires, werewolves, etc) RPs get old for me pretty quickly. If you're looking for an RP partner and I've glanced at your profile, then I'm most likely willing to give it a shot, but decided against PMing you because I'm actually kinda shy. But I'm always looking for a new friend!

Please feel free to say hi at any time!

@JBRam2002, Shh. You're making him so he won't lose every saving throw for charm effects I use on him.

Sorry, Reg! Uh, I mean whenever a bard targets you, you have a -10 penalty on all saves.

(That better?)

" Also, fists deal 1+STR damage without a feat (you don't have that feat),"
=> confusion. taking 3 points of psyche damage.

Some things were actually still wrong, a lot..
=> flies into a rage.
Feel free to check again.
=> will most likely still be wrong.

Looking a lot better!
For Outlander (not sure if that BG was listed before, but I found it now!), you gain Athletics and Survival Proficiencies. Half-orcs gain Intimidation proficiency, and Barbarian gets 2 proficiencies from the following list: Animal Handling, Athletics, Intimidation, Nature, Perception, and Survival. You currently show four proficiencies: Animal Handling, Athletics, Intimidation, and Survival. That means you can take an additional proficiency from the barbarian list (which really leaves you with Nature or Perception, and Perception is probably a better option). If you take Perception proficiency, you should also increase your Passive Perception score.

tl;dr - You get an additional skill proficiency (either Nature or Perception).

I would also suggest adding Common to the languages you know (you get that from Half-Orc). I also suggest adding the description of Rage to your sheet so you don't have to look it up to understand its bonuses and limitations.

Is all good. If my character isn't conform to the rules now i don't know what I'll do...

I'd check your Saving Throws and Skills as well. You still show -3 for all the INT based ones and a penalty on the CHA ones. Also, fists deal 1+STR damage without a feat (you don't have that feat), and your Greataxe deals 1d12+STR damage instead of just 1d12. I would also suggest marking down your attack bonuses for those items, which is STR + Prof Bonus (2).

I also don't see which background you took, but I might have missed it. BGs add proficiencies and are useful.
Looks like I actually used the wrong array, taking an 11 instead of a 13. So my WIS score is increased to 14 instead of 12, which increases my Passive Perception by 1. @Daemanis
As we treaded water above the coral city, our guide explained to us their side of the tale. Much of it had already been alluded to: the marid protected this city for as long as memory held sway. The theullai, on the other hand, was a relatively recent gatekeeper, having defeated the previous gatekeeper in single combat a few decades before. Since then, trade between the city and the Material Plane had fallen greatly as the theullai imposed harsher and more numerous restrictions crafted solely for his own benefit, including a tariff that went to his own pocket.

Eventually, the marid stood up and challenged the theullai, despite knowing the latter had the martial advantage. When the marid was on the ropes, he used his trump card, the
wish spell, to destroy the theullai's power over the gate and send the marid to safety. As is often the case with such a spell, nothing quite happened the way the caster intended. The marid was whisked away to the Verdant Stream, a current of green ichor flowing through the Water Plane. This current flowed from a labyrinthine collection of mechanical objects and structures located far from the gate.

The only question left was whose version of events was true?

Cynthia's story came to a close, only interrupted once or twice by passersby. At the end, she opened a hatch into the shopping district. "I am sure you will find plenty of wares to aid you on... whatever your goal might be," she said with a smile. "We welcome new traders with open arms. Although, I might suggest holding off on the music, kobold. Not only do those in this city distrust your kind, they also have a very particular ear for music."

The hatch led into a winding tunnel deep into the coral. From the sharp corners and muffled noises overheard, one could surmise this tunnel was constructed to weave around existing hollows. Despite its unpredictable turns, the tunnel was well-lit with a bioluminescent strand along the right wall, and the passage was wide enough for two or three to pass comfortably. Cynthia explained the dual purpose of the lighting: it not only provided visual aid to those without darkvision, but also served as a guide when the pitch of the tunnels was unclear: right was down, and left was up. The marid had proclaimed this measure after a family had gotten lost for days, nearly starving to death deep inside the more complicated residential districts.

Eventually, they swam into a wide open space in the coral. If they hadn't known better, they likely would not realize they were still inside due to the cavernous room they had entered. Hundreds of merfolk and a spattering of other races filled the room from top to bottom, and nearly every inch of coral was occupied with a stall or shop selling their wares. Much of it was mundane trinketry, but several shops appeared to sell valuable gear and weaponry. Cynthia grinned widely and gestured before them. "Welcome to the Coral City!"
@MaeOoh a Trickster! I've been hoping to see one and as luck would have it, I'm playing a rogue. I think we're going to be best of friends :P

One minor thing I noticed is your init should be +1 (from Dex), unless I missed something.
@Mae I might have missed a link, but do you have a CS with your stats, abilities, languages, background, etc on it? I like knowing what my allies are good at. :D
@Mae, @Daemanis might have room. Maybe?
Oh,.. eh.. hm.. Let me fix that. enchanted => broken and sealed enchanted.

Character traits i slapped in there at random aren't from any D&D...
i just made up some things to have it look more.. eh... 'interesting'?

The problem with randomly adding homebrew is that it usually conflicts with existing rules. Also, you have added so many homebrew features that the character is unrecognizable as 5e or D&D in general. I'm not the DM, so I can't make any rulings on anything, but I would strongly suggest sticking to PHB, SCAG, and UA, at least until we get past lvl 1.
unearthed Arcana is allowed as I was asked back in the interest check, as for the magic items the only reason i allowed them is the fact they cannot be used or sold, her character cant use armors or weapons it would appear.. @JBRam2002
they are classed as "loot" so like a treasure chest
If i got that wrong please correct me

My comment is more that the info he has is not from UA. Also, even if one cannot use magic gear, they can eventually sell it most likely. Even if not, it's gear he doesn't have to buy later. His net worth is currently close to 3k gp whereas the rest of us are closer to 100 gp.

To add: the barbarian features that he shows do not meet the flavor or balance of 5e. He has effectively spell resistance, which doesn't exist in 5e. There are very few things that add or subtract a simple number to anything (except proficiency or stats). He has -4 INT and CHA, which is only "offset" by his +4 Intimidation (not a fair balance).

In addition, his "powers" do not exist in 5e. The casting time makes no sense (measured in seconds, not action type, and doesn't fit 5e's rules). The bonuses and penalties make no sense for 5e (bleed damage doesn't exist). Dragon Drums uses an opposed check instead of a spell save DC, etc.

These effects look like someone's unbalanced homebrew, not UA. If I am wrong (I'm 99% sure I'm not), then please provide a link to the UA. In the meantime, the only non-core subclasses for Barbarian I'm aware of are in SCAG pg 121 (Battlerager), UA: Revised Subclasses (Ancestral Guardian), and UA: Barbarian Primal Paths (Storm Herald and Zealot). None of them allow any spellcasting while raging, and none have any bleed mechanics.
