Kharne's eyes cut towards the princess as she spoke, his movements paused until she was done. "Everyone blows off steam differently, and maybe working out some mental frustrations physically could have helped. Who knows, but for now I should get looking...and maybe see about getting tracking items for everyone." He said before slipping out of the room. He heard the meeting spot if he couldn't find her in what he assumed to be a timely manner. Those heavy footsteps faded from the groups ears as he went down the hall and down some stairs. A nod to the innkeep and he was out on the street.

It was fairly early in the morning, but any port worth a damn was already bustling. His stride ate the distance between the inn and the clothing shop where Raven was last seen. Closing his eyes his nostrils flared and he inhaled. His mind shifting through the different smells before locking onto Raven's scent. His nose wasn't as good as a feral dogs but it was good enough to catch brief familiar scents. The girl didn't smell like any person on Avalia that he had snuffed before, there were materials he had never smelt before.

Opening his eyes he began following that smell. He had to go slow to keep it locked on, but his size, arms, and armor got people to get out of his way. Even other mercenaries and soldiers moved when his eyes went from straight ahead from the task at hand to glaring down at them before returning to the task at hand. Intimidation was a good way of avoiding trouble, and getting people to move faster so he didn't have to get physical. Granted Raven was a high profile p.o.i and he'd normally be bulldozing the town to find her faster. But discretion was needed in this situation so as to not draw the dark elf attention to River Port.

The more he followed her scent, the seedier the surroundings got. Which got him to get more tense. The surrounding smells weren't as pleasant as before, so now he had to use his eyes more than his nose. Too much stink could drown out the most familiar of scents unfortunately. So he went looking for that startlingly white hair of hers, assuming she was up and about and on the main path that is...

While the two women looked for Raven Kharne had gotten Ismael to do some basic exercises in the newly acquired armor and had been surprised that the man was able to do so well. This one hadn't been a soft man on Earth. Still he made the man go through some paces before showing him how to take care of the armor before bed. Speaking of the giant took care of his own gear that still had some troll blood on it. He was so used to blood dried on his armor and weapons that it took him no time at all to deal with it. He never understood why some people had difficulties, then again some people had a lot more nooks and crannies in their gear from being highly ornamented.

Little Red returned first, sent back by Annya, said princess stayed out a while longer but couldn't find their white haired companion. So the dragonborn stayed awake throughout the night, waiting for the girl to return. To keep himself occupied he did his own exercises, it was his own way of meditating really. He went through the basic motions of sit-ups, push-ups, one handed push-ups, pull-ups from the rafters, one handed pull-ups, etc etc. He worked like a machine but he made sure his ears and nose stayed focused for the sound and smell of Raven potentially returning really late.

It wasn't until dawn creeped in, and he was hanging from the rafters by his ankles and doing sit-ups, that he shook his head. Those girls need discipline... He thought to himself before he used his wings to ease him onto the floor before he wiped himself down. Hours of exercising made him sweat, he had the best weight after all which was himself. Cleaned up and dressed there was a knocking at the door. "Enter." He rumbled out before Annya came in speedily. She said they needed to talk about what happened yesterday which got a nod from him.

He let her speak, the ridge of his brow creeping up once in a while but his face was largely unreadable. The joys of being reptilian, best poker faces. "Take Ismael with you when you meet that dwarf and I'll go hunt for Raven. I know her scent and I can move faster than you so we don't have to worry about all of this potential enemy of the kingdom nonsense. There's also only so many places she could be, she didn't seem to be a dumb girl." He rumbled before standing up from his seated position and cracking his back. "Also next time...no splitting up. The girl is shell shocked, she clearly has never killed a thing nevermind been in real combat." He finished as he donned his armor and slung that giant blade across his back.

Kharne hadn't shown it but he was highly agitated with how Annya had handled the situation, and the fact that Little Red hadn't seemed to try and help the girl she had come through the portal with. Maybe they weren't friends? He'd have to ask eventually, assuming he found the woman. Either way he lingered a moment in case Annya had anything left to say before he'd head out to try and find Raven. He was a bit worried about the girl after the princess spoke about human magic. Of course it had to be emotion based, no it couldn't just be think and it happens. Girl could blow up and make a tornado or something in the center of a port.
Big Red watched the two girls interact after Little Puff picked up something from the remains of the slime. A ring, a surprisingly clean one. Then again slimes were essentially sacks of stomach acid. But Druid Girl kept worrying about him making him sigh with slight annoyance. "I'm a hard being, this isn't the first time I've encountered a slime and been munched on by them. Probably won't be the last, although that one was tougher than normal." He rumbled out before gesturing for them to move on.

Little Puff mentioned scouting, she was small and nimble. Probably speedier than anything in this sewer and voices could carry easily. The sewage wasn't exactly rushing along to make a thundering sound like a river. "That's fine, we'll try another tunnel branch. But we'll also report about the slime when we get back. So no one else gets surprised in the future." He continued, not every rookie adventure could handle a slime after all.

His eyes went to their Archer companion. "Watch the ceiling as well, slimes are capable of ambushes." He finished before ushering them along so they can continue with their job.

Kharne let Ismael take the lead this time and just meandered behind him. Possibly the laziest the human had ever seen the giant reptilian man. Almost as if he felt nothing nearby was a threat, or a threat so small it didn't warrant him being wary. A commotion drew the now equipped human, which got an inward sigh from him. Curiosity was not always something one should give into after all. Still it paid off...kind of. There was the rest of their party, except Little Red looked to be trying to kill a drunken crying shopkeeper, Annya was not looking pleased, and Raven looked pissed.

Words were exchanged and Raven tromped off, giving him a hi/bye kind of look. "Be mindful of your surroundings." He rumbled to her as she went past him. He was no ladies man, but even he understood 'I need space/time to cool off, lemme alone'. So he let her be, although he wished he had a smaller blade he could have handed off to her. He didn't smell any weaponry on her, but women tended to be crafty. More people began to crowd while Annya addressed a dwarf, the giants eyebrow began to twitch. He had charges to watch and this crowd wasn't helping right now.

"Alright you lot, get going the show is over!" He stated, his voice booming over the crowd and he started to move people away. He could have launched them, but instead he ushered them away forcefully. Well forcefully to them, to him it was like pushing children along. With his attention partially moved he addressed Ismael. "We'll be returning to the inn for now, the girls can regroup themselves. But I want to get you used to that armor. So...your exercises get to begin when we return." Kharne said with a rather large and toothy grin. Said teeth gleamed in the lamp lights, startlingly white and looked like if he bit someone they would die of shock.

With that the giant picked Ismael up like a sack of potatoes, up onto his shoulder, and off he went. That stride carrying the pair unsurprisingly fast. Although him weaving through the people lining the streets with animal grace helped propel them along.

Kharne simply watched Ismael wander about the shop gathering things with a purpose. The experienced reptilian eyes lingered on each piece the man grabbed before nodding his approval. Protect the vitals with heavy armor, but keep a higher mobility for the limbs. Personally the behemoth would have put chain over the leather but he didn't know how much the younger man could carry around. That was part of the reason why he had his own custom armor, it could be called partial plate because it left the front of his torso completely open while the back had sliding plates to allow for flight.

When Ismael was fully suited up, with a targe surprisingly, he paid for the gear. "You're going to want to work your arms a bit. Holding a shield and sword can be tiring to those not used to their weight." The giant rumbled. Well his minion was kitted out and it was too late in the day to work the smaller man. Well now it was time to introduce him to local food and drink, which meant going to a pub. Kharne would probably be the only one of the entire group not drinking alcohol.

"Alright, now that you're wearing protection we can relax somewhat. I recognized the place the ladies are at and it's near a nicer place than where I'd normally go." He stated before leading the way. Again he weaved through what people were around very easily. His pace steady to keep Ismael in view and to let the shorter man keep up. A third time it didn't take him long to get from point A to point B, almost like he memorized the streets of the town when last he had been here.

Kharne took a second to marvel at the device, he had never used one before. His own lungs tended to carry his messages quite clearly a good distance. "Fine, fine Annya. We'll be heading to the armorer next," He stated before clicking the end button. His gaze went to Ismael when the man laughed which got a quirked brow. "Spinning in a real fight is a death sentence to those who are fast enough. Weapons or fists and kicks, by the time you turn around fully my blade is in your spine." He stated before picking up a longsword and shifting into a more open section of the shop.

"You don't need spin to use a sword, you use the blades weight and edge to do the work." The giant said, giving a basic downward slash. It looked more like he flicked his wrists than a full arm swing like Ismael had probably seen in the movies. A horizontal slash came next and used more motion, a more sweeping motion from the arms while slightly turning at the waist. The blade stopped dead at the end of the swing before it reversed direction just to stop once more.

The blade was returned to the rack before Kharne plonked the Amas for the sword in Ismael's hands on the counter, along with some coins for a sheathe and belt. "If you need to spin to hit harder with your fists or feet you need to build up your strength. Never show your back to the enemy, never take your eyes off the enemy. Not even for a second." The dragonborn continued. Words of wisdom from someone who had been young and dumb and nearly died doing such stupid things. "If you need to learn another method to hit harder I'll teach it to you, assuming you don't already know it and just don't implement it." He man drawled before waving for Ismael to follow. Onwards to the armorer!

It would be impossible to lose Kharne as he led the way. The next shop was nearby and had the same smell, metal, leather, and burning wood and coal. Inside was different, racks of armor of varying materials and styles. A gesture from Kharne came. "Pick your gear." A simple sentence but ones armor could keep you alive or kill you.

Kharne watched Ismael finagle with the longsword. The boy had a good grip. "Another thing to consider with blades, is edge alignment. If your alignment is shoddy the damage will be like getting slapped. Not cut. But we'll work on that." He stated before glancing about the shop. "You might also want to consider a small shield, blocking with a sword is a good way to break it or chip its edge." He continued, a bit hypocritical. But then again his blade was absolutely monstrous and clearly not made of steel.

After a moment of thought he looked down at Ismael and gave a rather authoritative glare. "And for the love of all things combat oriented...do.not.spin. Your back never faces the enemy. I will stab you myself if I see you twirl like a damned dancer." He growled, clearly he had seen it happen enough that he would scare and threaten the human out of doing such a stupid thing. With those words done he tapped the bracelet Annya gave him. "Since I'm at the blacksmith already, should I grab your charges some weapons? If so let me know what they can use." Kharne said into the device.

It wasn't a device that was commonly used by him or his crews, but it wasn't entirely foreign to him. There were only so many buttons after all!

Kharne watched Ismael play around with weapons that didn't suit his size or build for a moment after a comment about a gun before he went to the blacksmith at the counter. "I need a pair of bladed knuckle dusters made, cobalt material." He rumbled. The smith broke out a piece of paper to write the order down before questioning about design, appearances, and size. Kharne went over the appearance, he preferred simple things, and the blades would be roughly ten inches long with a slight curve. Both sides of the claw would be sharp since there was this thing called a backhand.

Ismael spoke up again, making Kharne turn towards him. "It depends on what you're looking to do. Blades cut but don't go through armor unless it's a hefty blade. Bludgeons crush armor, and bone, but they're hefty. Axes are happy mediums. Polearms are good for light armored opponents for the most part. There are also multiple ways to handle each weapon depending on its style." He stated while the smith went off to work on his order.

The giant reptilian man approached Ismael and began to show him the various ways of using weapons. Chocking up on an axe and 'punching' with the head. Choking up on the haft of a spear for better control and use in more cramped spaces and also using it much like a staff. The longsword and claymore he showed half-swording which was a way to make it more like a shorter blade so it could be used in a hallway. He even showed off the murderstroke, a strike to the skull via the crossguard while holding the actual blade. He was good at demonstrating all the more killer aspects of the various weapons he put his hands on. But it was still up to Ismael to pick a weapon that fit him well.

Kharne blinked before tilting his head slightly. "True enough, they might never have seen combat in their world." He mused. But he still felt it'd be better to arm and armor them first. Sometimes a good sheet of metal over the chest and good steel in the hand gave people comfort. The knowledge they could defend themselves to a degree. A blink and shake of his head were given to the princess at her next words. "Time and place for teamwork..." He murmured, more to himself than the others. He was a mercenary, it was entirely different than being in a military unit.

He was more used to relying on himself than others around him. If anything he tried doing more in a group to make sure things were done to his own standard. Trust did not come easy in the mercenary world. Still the girls went off to do girl things. Shop, gossip, talk of males. The behemoth looked down at Ismael for a moment before gesturing for the younger man to follow along. At least he only had to look after one human, not two. That made keeping an eye out for dangers easier on him.

It had been a little bit since he had been to River Port, but the layout felt the same. Just different faces, some new smells. It was obvious to Ismael on the first location the giant draconic man would lead him. To an armory, a business that sold arms and armor made by local blacksmiths and some brought in from other towns. "Try out various weapons, don't just look at them. Pick them up and give them a swing, pull, or thrust. What fits your hand and body best." Kharne said, inside the shop he seemed a bit more relaxed. Weapons and armor were things he liked, the current spread of gear looked like toys whenever he picked one up. Was his monstrous blade a custom order job to match his size?
