Assuming we get out of this bogged down state that the RP is currently in, and I'm optimistic for the time being, I'd like for Rurik and Alex to have a bit of a chat when they're both in the guild at the same time. Hopefully the ending of your current job and the one Rurik/Chloe/Verin will soon go on will be around the same time so that things won't be too awkward.

Pfft, Alexis is plenty polite... compared to Enyo. I'm having WAY too much fun making her the meanest person I've ever RP'd as XD
Also, if anyone thinks the whole shooting the coin with an arrow thing was too much, let me know. I was on the fence about it... but then I read jman's post... -___-
The way I see it, Enyo is very good at one thing... and that's it, lol. I figure just about everyone else in this RP has more well-rounded characters when it comes to combat ability.
Also, someone go try to make friends with Felix! He's lonely... and I want to watch/make him squirm uncomfortably. The way I see it, Irish, as the only character of (future) team JAKF to not have made a second post since landing at Beacon, the ball's in your court, but if you had other plans, that's fine too. It's just an idea. :P

Enyo had one of those "slow motion" moments. One second she was taking aim at a coin, the next, she spied a strange object flying into her field of view. She glanced to the side to see the obnoxious gauntlet girl taking aim... no, wait, she'd already launched an ice spike. Enyo had an inkling about what she was trying to do.
Why that little f- her next few thoughts were comprised of some very, very choice words. Whatever the strange object was, it looked like it was meant to explode. The fact that the girl was shooting at it with something else helped to cement those thoughts. Enyo's next action was one that might be considered pointless. She'd be unable to prove she'd done what she was about to do, and she had no intention of trying to. However, she'd at least be able to secretly enjoy that satisfaction of doing it. Right before the ice hit the object, Enyo shot it instead. As expected, it exploded. To anyone else, nothing strange had transpired, well, except for some sudden fireworks. Enyo was the only one who knew she'd been able to snipe the object out of the air on a moments notice. As far as anyone else should know, Enyo had been shooting at a coin when suddenly something went "bang."
Then more ice showed up, striking the coins and sending them flying even more than they already had been.
"Oh for... I'm done. I can't do anything about that." Enyo shrugged, a helpless smile on her face. Actually, she was pretty sure she still could have shot at least three of those coins. She tossed the pistol up in the air a few times, as if checking ho much it weighed... and then casually threw it backwards over her shoulder.
"H-HEY!" the pistol's owner panicked, seeing his weapon so carelessly handled. In a flash of motion, Enyo drew and unfolded her bow and fired an arrow. The arrow flew at the pistol, causing the owner to freak out even more. However, the arrow stabbed into a tree, leaving the pistol dangling from it by the trigger guard.
"All yours. Thanks, kid." Enyo smirked. The pistol was perfectly fine, even if its owner looked ready to have a heart attack.
"WHAT IF YOU'D MISSED!?" the boy shouted at her. This made Enyo frown.
"Missed? You think I'd do something like that if I wasn't one-hundred percent sure I was going to do it right? People like us need to know exactly what we're capable of, and we need to know that we can do exactly what we expect we can! If you don't know yourself well enough to do that, then maybe you don't belong here! Your gun's fine, and keep the arrow as a reminder to figure yourself out before you get yourself killed!" Enyo berated him harshly before storming off.
The boy was left shaking, wondering if she was right or not. He tried to shrug it off as he retrieved his gun. As he was doing so, his eyes nearly bugged out of his head. Lying at the base of the tree were two things: shards of ice, and a coin that had been split in two. There was no way of knowing for sure, but he had a feeling that the crazy girl who'd just yelled at him had done that... which meant she'd have had to hit a target barely an inch wide that was in motion, through the trigger guard of his gun.
"Momma... I want to go home..." Suddenly he felt very, very out of place.
Felix had watched the whole display and was left sighing. Enyo had changed, and he wasn't sure it was in a good way. She was trying way too hard, and she wasn't making any friends, something she was already bad at. As a former friend, he couldn't help but worry. However, the key word there was "former" so he tried not to think about it too much. She'd pushed him away, so she wasn't his concern anymore.
He decided to just get going and enter the academy itself, rather than stand around in the courtyard. Hopefully the day's drama had reached its climax already and would start winding down. For the moment though, he was just glad to have some space, he was already feeling better. Well, that was until he realized he'd mentally criticized Enyo's ability to make friends.
At least if she wanted to, she probably could... He sighed again. He couldn't even talk to people most days, he was always afraid they were going to try and kill him. The worst part was he knew it wasn't true, but that was why it was called an "irrational" fear. With those depressing thoughts in mind, he got moving.

Ruby doesn't use her gun's recoil to move. She uses it for some extra kick, that's all. The recoil is just added momentum, but it's her semblance that makes her move really fast for the most part. I would assume that they also just bent the laws of physics a little, and that in "reality" her gun's recoil wouldn't have nearly as much effect as they suggest it does. However, looking at the Red Trailer, we can guess that Ruby is using some big f***ing bullets judging by the holes they put into the beowolves. I would guess some sort of caliber like .50 BMG or very close, like one or two steps above. There are calibers above .50 that people can shoot without being knocked on their ass, as long as they know what they're doing.
But yeah, it's not like Ruby uses her gun to go from a dead stop to lightning speed, normally we see her use it to help her change direction, make her weapon hit harder when she swings her, or to help her move even faster than she already is once she's started moving using her semblance or something.
