Heroes of Beacon - the Next Chapter

"You alright?" Ben asked quietly, as though he didn't already know the answer. The answer, very clearly, was 'no'. But given that he had arrived just in time to see his teammate freak out and by all appearances nearly inflict harm to her sparring partner... It was as good an icebreaker as any. And boy was he pretty sure he needed one. Truthfully he hadn't expected to see anything quite like it when he went looking for her. He'd wanted to talk about a few things, vaguely remembered she said something about sparring.

And arrived either just in time or at exactly the wrong time, depending on your perspective. Benjamin Lloyd didn't really feel like judging his timing. Helping out his teammate was a higher priority by a couple of orders of magnitude. Amy's past was a colorful one, but he wasn't exactly privy to very much knowledge about her. Aside from what he had observed in their time as teammates, he was limited to whatever she saw fit to mention. He had a feeling that was about to change.

Aaaaaaaaaaand hello, folks. Me again. I can already hear the chorus of groans. I did (finally) get a Ben/BAST post done. I've been in touch with Kaithas, and while he's actually on vacation (and out of synch with his usual time zone), he's somewhat around. Enough for me to get in contact, and for him to probably post.

Now, to be perfectly honest, I've got almost no idea what's up anymore. I can see a bunch of new faces (some of which followed me here, yes, I see you), and the absence of a bunch of old ones. Including, it looks like, the player who was going to be running the mission BAST was slated for.

In short, things got shaken up a bit. Which... Given how long we've been out of commission, isn't a surprise.

Lugu, I'll be PMing you in a bit (and adding in the other members of BAST) to sort out how best to go about things.

"We all set?"

The query was uncannily calm, given the situation. Which is to say, calm for being prepared to dive headfirst into a potentially very dangerous mission. They'd chosen it for that very reason. Something big, something dangerous, something difficult; all to show that they could hang in there like the rest of them. Ben knew that, maybe, that wasn't quite the healthiest attitude. Charging at the world with something to prove tended to make people stupid. But, knowing that something isn't wise isn't the same as being able to change it. He did have something to prove. They all did, and they all knew it.

Looping Artorius and Lawnslot through their holders, finally satisfied that they were ready, he surveyed his team. BAST. Bastion. Most teams at Beacon weren't quite what you'd expect, but his was definitely the misfits. Dropouts, slackers, antisocials, and the too social. All the terms most would apply to them. Terms even Goodwitch probably applied, even if she didn't say them out loud. But none of them were quite true.

He had something to prove. But he was damn proud of the team he was on, too.

"Gonna be a hell of a ride. Anyone needs anything else, I'd get it now."

So, I had a genuine desire to read the OOC. Then I found I was forty six pages from present day.

I noped out of there.

I did, however, read the IC and I see that missions are still going on, so I'm working on something to get Ben (and hopefully by extension BAST) moving again. Kaithas' activity is limited until the end of June, but I'll see whether he can either post occasionally or get permission to bunny Amy along.

Hey, Lugu, I'm here. Sorry for my absence but I was moving and working on school stuff just after I last poked my head in here, and I fell off the map a bit when I couldn't seem to get in touch with some of my teammates.

School year's wrapping up, and I'm no longer swamped by things I need to do, so I should be back to full presence. I'll try to have a post for Ben and relevant parts of BAST done today or, at the latest, tomorrow.

Goddammit, the universe hates me lately. Long story as to why I didn't get caught up last time I was here, but I am caught up now. Skimmed, at minimum, all the pages I've missed, both of the IC and the OOC, and I'm in the process of getting in touch with the rest of BAST.

Technically I'm moving houses this weekend, but it's going to be the easiest stretch of time to catch up in.

Are teams supposed to go anywhere in particular for their mission's start?

"We are indeed." Alistair said, returning to Japanese for the sake of the conversation's non-English speaker. His Japanese wasn't quite as excellent as his English (he wasn't a native speaker of the former, after all), but he was fluent. He gestured with a hand towards Schultz, by way of indication. "He was planning to take on the boss, but is a rather new player. I was planning to take on the boss as well, and offered to party with him to help him learn the ropes a little better."

"You're welcome to join us, as long as no one else objects. Our fourth acquaintance is free to as well, though if she does I apologize for any conversations in English."

I am unbelievably sorry for my absence. Like Kaithas reported a while back (and I commented on when I was briefly able), my internet was out for a while, and school was a large factor. And then when both of those things had rectified themselves, and I poked my head in here to say that I'd be trying to catch up, they all happened again. We found the source of the internet issue, however, and fixed it. And I am on April vacation all of this week, so I have time to catch up on all the snowballed posts that I missed.

I haven't had a chance to talk with the other BAST players in a while, but I'll try and get in touch with them to see if they're also able to be here.
