No offense intended. But there's a sweet spot on the sliding scale of realism, and most of the interest checks I usually see skew too far to the realism end for me.

Can't describe how quickly I go from excited to sad when a mecha premise turns out to be realism wankery.

"A pleasure, Ferrara." The Tactical Mage said simple, continuing to dry herself until she was satisfied she wouldn't get her robe wet. She did, eventually, turn to face the other mage again and regard him with something akin to curiosity. Try as she might, the fascination with what her former fellow tub occupant might have for magic remained. He was, rather clearly, not a member of any guild. Much too easily flustered, and by any indication good-natured, to be a Dark Wizard. The scarring spoke of some rather severe injuries but he did not seem to be one for combat to any real degree. Perhaps they had been the catalyst for his training? "I hope that you find your compatriot with greater ease than with which you found the hot tub."

"For your own reference," Cyare began, pulling on her robe, gathering it loosely about her torso and tying it tightly around her waist. "My... business partner, and I took one of the few remaining combat-oriented jobs. Such things do not seem to be your preferred line of work, regardless, but it seemed best to inform you. Given the natural cessation of the Magic Games, and the number of mages looking for work resulting, it is likely that slim pickings remain."

"Nevertheless, I wish you luck. If you describe your companion I could direct her as to where to find you."

The U in TSUN hung up on the N's phone, given that she'd gotten an answering machine. No point in keeping it going. She spied her leader out of the corner of her eye and, after a moment's pause, flicked open the clasp on her messenger bag and started rummaging through it. She still didn't look over at her boss, but after a few moments of aggravated searching, she yanked out a long, soft white scarf and shoved it into her leader's hand forcefully. "Clean yourself up, boss, best you can. You look like a fucking rainbow, and your sneezes look like they got out of a Skittles factory."

"Toss the damn scarf when you're done. Was last season, anyway." The bag clicked closed and she kept walking towards the airships, with a certain undercurrent of energy to her pace. "I'm gonna fucking kill that guy, Cirsium. The Kawa one. He's fucking dead. Beat the other one, too, just to feel better."

"If we fight them, they go down. Hard."
There's also the fact that, to be quite honest, Adam's interactions with Blake came off rape-y as fuck. Pardon the bluntness.

@Crimmy, @Onarax

"Well, guess time's up. C'mon, Teàr. We'll see you two later!" The Atlesian native stated cheerfully, squeezing the other member of TSUN's shoulder while she circled around the bench to start walking, hinting at her that it was time to leave. She gave the competition a quick, friendly wave before she turned her back, heading towards the arena. They were going to start picking the matches, now, and she planned to put some names to faces real damn quick. Her smile faded only slightly once she was out of Echo's sight, though it seemed a little more predatory now. She shifted her bag to her other hip casually, brushing a finger over its release mechanism.

Her hand slipped up to the edge of her 'headband', fingering the power switch and uttering a name softly under her breath. The helpful ringing in her ear signaled the call's start, and the click heralded either her target, or an answering machine. Either one would do. "Nura, I've got the boss. Find Silver, would you? I haven't seen her anywhere, and it's pretty irritating. She needs to get her ass to the stadium."

"Met a few competitors, too. If you see a guy in the gaudiest rainbow glitter you've ever seen with a girl that has hair visible from orbit, you've seen them too."
Adam was a terrible, cliche manifestation of a collection of tropes taken from under "Internet Edgy Badass" given form.

And he really, really should have stayed in the Black trailer.

Where he belonged.

"The job postings are rather irritating to find." The Pawn agreed, both eyes opening attentively. The mention of a job board cut down on the number of potential careers significantly. Given the Magic Games that were just occurring, and the fact that most permanent positions for non-magic civilians could be found elsewhere. More likely than not she was in the presence of a second wizard. Obviously she did not have the time nor the opportunity to inquire about his particular specialty in magic, but it was an interesting experiment in thought. His particular physical attributes did not much imply a close-combat fighter, but the presence of scarring implied more than a passing familiarity with such things.

She would not pry, however. It would be more than slightly hypocritical to do so after refusing to elaborate on her own abilities to their guide the previous day, and she was no hypocrite. Speaking of yesterday, she was a day behind her intended time table. Which meant, regrettably, that there was no time to spare. She stood in a single smooth motion and turned to step out of the tub, beginning to towel herself off without glancing back. "There is a job board in a tavern a block north of here, on the wall opposite the entrance. The pickings were rather slim, but it is where my associate and I selected our own assignment."

"If you are less discerning about the type of job you wish to take, you may have better luck."
It's the weekend.

So much better than before.
Angel Ferrara

"Mmm."
Angel's eyes were both open, regarding the girl across from him with a mix of various emotions, but finally when he detected a slight note of good humor in her voice, the androgynous cook let himself smile. The blush returned with it, but it was a more innocent return of color to his face as opposed to anything that was a result of being flustered.

"Could I please get your name?" he asked politely, smile widening even as he asked the question. It was as though he was realizing it was a simpler predicament than he thought.

"Cyare Staunton." She answered simply, permitting her one open eye to close again. The other occupant finally seemed to be calming down, which made it much, much easier to enjoy her own soak in the tub. Watching to make sure the other person wasn't going to run off like a frightened rabbit made relaxation simpler. She sat a little more upright so she could roll her neck, then arch her back and feel the pops that accompanied the stretch. The burn was gone from her limbs, so she was willing to say the heat was doing its job. Regrettably, she didn't think she could get away with staying much longer. There was work to be done, and if she didn't round up Rei then God knows where she'd be able to find him.

Not that the tub wasn't tempting. It would be so much easier just to wait a little longer. Surely the heat was better the longer you were in it. That's what her temptation said, at least. She suspected that if she gave in she wouldn't get back. But allowing herself a few more minutes wouldn't hurt.

"Now you can address me by name until I leave."
Cyare Staunton

"You could ask my name." The tactician noted, cracking one eye open long enough to regard the tub's other occupant with a faint degree of amusement. He wasn't wrong about the water, though. She did not get the chance to indulge in a hot tub very often, but Cyare greatly enjoyed the times that she did. Something about the hot water was so soothing.

"You are quite correct about the water, however."
Cyare Staunton: Unwittingly Unnerving

"Ma'am? I do not think I am quite that old. Or that refined." Frankly, she was running out of ways to tell him to relax. Everything simply seemed to make him more and more unnerved, as though her mere presence was distinctly unsettling. Rather inconvenient, if she were perfectly honest. Getting him to relax was taking up time she had intended to spend in silence. The company wasn't unpleasant in and of itself, but the stress was going to start spreading if he didn't relax.

"Just take some deep breaths. Enjoy the hot water."
