No offense intended. But there's a sweet spot on the sliding scale of realism, and most of the interest checks I usually see skew too far to the realism end for me.

Can't describe how quickly I go from excited to sad when a mecha premise turns out to be realism wankery.

Camp Halfblood.

For some, it was a home away from home, a place they looked forward to throughout the winter months. For a handful it was their permanent home, for even more it was a safe haven away from the chaos of the outside world. Not that the camp wasn't its own breed of chaos, though at this hour, it was truthfully very peaceful. Not a noise disturbed the quiet tranquility, nor could a soul be seen walking about from the hill above the Big House. The rising sun was framed perfectly over the landscape, casting the world in hues of red and orange as it slowly drove away the night's shadows and terrors. It was beautiful, this rare moment of peace in a sea of unrelenting disorder and chaos.

But despite the beauty, the camp's newest arrival found himself with the dreary task of getting set up, and notably, of going through another summer here. The camp wasn't bad, not at all. Capture the flag was always interesting, and there were few better sources in the world for knowledge on all things ancient. But that's all it was. In a few minutes he would be back in his empty cabin, back to this... It was difficult even finding the term. It was indescribably boring here when one didn't interact much with the others, but he didn't have a lot of opportunities for that anyway. On the bright side, he'd have all the peace and quiet within his cabin that he'd ever want.

With a sigh, the teenager pushed himself to his feet, dusting himself off, and gripping the handle of his luggage. No point in delaying any longer. Pulling his rolling bag behind him, he set off down the road that led to the Big Hose, moving at a leisurely pace that, nevertheless, brought him to his destination inside of five minutes. The mildly bureacratic procedure of signing in took but a few moments, and before he knew it, he was headed towards his cabin.

A few people were stirring here and there, but few had taken notice of him. Even fewer were likely to recognize him. After all, he'd made it a point not to stand out too much last year. Easier that way. No expectations to deal with.

OOC: This post operates on the assumption that, as with the last time, the construction of cabins for minor deities that began at the end of The Last Olympian were carried out.

And thus, with that, Abraham is open for interaction.

Abraham has been used before in multiple RPs. He got the stuffing beaten out of him each time. Last time with several punches to the face.I can handle his power. Those other profile up there are good, I'll try to get the IC up before I sleep tonight.

To elaborate on the lakefish's words;

Abraham adapts, yes. But he adapts after he's already been hit. It's far from instantaneous, as well. To adapt to something like, say, charm speak, it would have to be used on him, and the first time, he'll be as susceptible to it as anyone else. It's a powerful ability, yes, but it has inherent drawbacks.

And that's before we even consider the fact that it's passive, so he can't control the results. Rather than an active, first resort, it's something he falls back to if he has no other option, and has spent most of the fight being pummeled into the ground. His sword, granted, adapts as it fights; but it's also just a weapon.

(And for the record, it wasn't multiple fists, it was just the one. :P)

For anyone who cares (AKA no one), Abraham is more or less being reset to how he was prior to the start of the last game. He didn't really do anything, so there isn't much of a point in assuming that those interactions took place.

Alistair would have commented on KK's response, for he did indeed have something to say, but he was cut off by a decidedly unexpected occurrnce; Flying gobs of unidentified gunk. Sayuri attempted to cut one, but it only splattered, prompting Alistair to take anoher option. He drew Heaven from its sheath and batted a gobule aside with the flat of his blade in one swift motion.

It was more effective, though only just. While much of it was knocked away, parts flew through, splattering against his coat. He was spared from having to further deal with the sudden ambush, however, when Sayuri transported the three of them into the building. He grimaced slightly at the matter on his coat, but he seemed more irked by its presence than any stain it might cause.

"Well, that was disgusting. Clearly someone has a faulty sense of humor."
We'll break their legs.

I prefer trap cards.

Well, if the Faunists can be spread out, it should be easier to randomize the teams while keeping a few requested partnerships. I'll try not to make one with three other Fauna if I can help it, though. :PAnd Asuras still needs a character then. If Caster still wants to leave, then The Loli should be a go for Hae. :PNow, we have the map for the first test done, and can place the targets wherever we want. Do peeps want to have all the teams converge on the same place, or have to pick them up at random locations and meet up afterward? People can search the local in initial teams to pick up their targets after a small battle, and then separate to look for their permanent teams after that, with mehbeh battles in between. :P The setup will have the characters knowing where to go, so you won't be lost there. :P

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. Explain?

(I sent you my requests by PM, but to recreate them here for anyone who might be curious (#totallynotegotistical), I'd prefer a team that Alistair's on to have either Kiora, Arara or KK)
Truthfully, I'm not horribly picky about teams. And even if I did end up on one that didn't really work, I'd likely end up silent on the matter anyway, unless it was extreme. XD

That said, I feel that whatever teams are made should make some effort to nod towards how things have gone thus far. They're rather permanent, after all, and simply tossing out what's been done thus far doesn't really make sense to me.

So, I guess what I would ask is this; What possible methods for figuring teams are you thinking might be employed, Nefarious?

From there I can comment with my opinion. XD

Effort is merely someone misusing time that could be used for studying.

Though he had already slowed to make sure he didn't outpace the others, when KK spoke again, he made a full stop, turning to glance at her. Reading one's body language was usually a matter of knowing them well, but in this case, her behavior was so drastically different from how she'd been since he met her that something was definitely off, even if he couldn't say for certain what the root cause was. He carefully crossed the small distance between them with a few muttered "Excuse me"s as he pushed through the crowd, careful to keep outside of the BRIK-Breaker's orbit.

"Hey, Kali," He said quietly, keeping his tone neutral in case he was wrong, and everything was fine. Though truthfully, he'd be willing to bet Hell and Heaven that he was right. "Everything okay?"
