Yeah, sure, he or she could bonk people with their staves. They're not going to be very effective fighters, though.

No I mean can I have a Monk or Cleric actually trained in using a stave as a weapon. In medieval times it would not be particularly uncommon for monks to practice martial arts and fighting with a quarter staff or a bo staff is an extension of that. Monasteries traditionally would be separate from towns or cities and often enough they would have valuable texts or religious artifacts contained within them. Since the ruler of a country didn't dispatch soldiers to defend there monasteries the monks would need another way to keep wandering brigands and thieves out. A number of martial arts, especially the ones that would be practiced by pacifists stipulate that the best fought battle is won without fighting. Actually using there martial arts skills would be a last resort in any situation. However the knowledge that a monk could kick your ass six ways till Thursday kept most people from raiding monasteries. Of course they wouldn't be able to stand up to professional armies or well organized groups and not all the monks would know these skills but at least some of them would be able to fight with a decent amount of precision.

Could I have a character of that kind of caliber? Of course because of the immense value placed in his healing powers he wouldn't be on the front lines and as stated fighting for him would be more of a last resort. I'm not wanting like a ninja monk but I'd like a healer that when push comes to shove could defend themselves if absolutely necessary.
@Lugubrious Didn't you reserve a post at the beginning of the character's tab for your CSs?

EDIT: Also could I create a Cleric/Monk who is capable of fighting? I mean not like a front line fighter or anything but someone who could reasonably defend themselves using there stave as a weapon?
Shush, don't say anything. They might not notice.
It's not the number of arguments that your putting forth. I don't have the problem with that. The annoying thing was that you kept saying FAUNUS DON'T EAT PEOPLE. Which is just untrue since under the right circumstances a faunus could easily eat a person just as another person could eat a person.

I don't really think it'll matter if Mokuren is trying to change or not. Well no that's not true. It would make a great deal of difference in how this goes down but I do believe the end result of her either being dead or placed in an asylum would be unavoidable. There are simply to many characters in the RP that would not tolerate a cannibal on campus.
Alright @Kabensaal you need to start making some decisions regarding your character. Now the two options that you have shown interest in are her continuing in the RP as a cannibal or alternatively having delusions of being a cannibal. I must be honest, neither of these are going to serve you well in the long run. I am perfectly aware of what it is like to create something that seems like a good idea at the time and realize that it doesn't function properly later. It's not fun and I can't imagine having half the caste demand that you alter aspects of your character is in any way enjoyable.

That being said I do have to be honest. Murder and cannibalism are not taken lightly anywhere. Especially at an academy that trains for lack of a better phrase specialized super cops. At some point the cannibalism will have to come into the light otherwise there is no point in having it as part of the character. When that time comes you may get some sympathy from the squishy characters like Shiro but the vast majority of the school will be calling for your head.

If we alter it to having delusions of cannibalism the problems aren't exactly unrelated. Again it must at some point come into the light or it is purposeless. When that time comes you likely will get a bit more sympathy since a mental condition is not something that Mokuren can control. However sympathetic the populous is the end result is going to be that most of the student body and I would imagine a large number of the teachers would wish Mokuren removed to a psychiatric facility equipped to deal with her problems. A delusional person is a very dangerous thing, if they believe themselves to be doing something like say murder it is not a leap to the point where they will actually commit the crime. Mentally they are already capable of that kind of violence and desecration. The right circumstances could easily push them into doing it for real.

Think about why you want cannibalism as a part of your character and if the answer is for the simple reason that "you like it" or "it makes Mokuren unique" then scrap it. It's not doing anything for her character that couldn't be accomplished in other ways. You could even keep the addiction angle of the story. Except rather than human flesh make is something more mundane, RWBY version of heroine.

Also @Sho Minazuki I should bring this up because you keep saying it in caps on this issue and it's getting sort of annoying. People can be driven to eat other people, it's sad but it happens. The same could easily happen to faunus, Mokuren doesn't eat people cause she's a faunus, she eats people for some undisclosed psychological reason that could just as easily apply to a human. Not saying I'm not on your side but that argument doesn't actually do anything for your case.

Also @Kabensaal something to think about. Eating raw flesh can cause all manor of illnesses. Several of them psychological and degenerative, and fatal. Something to think about while making your choice.
Sucks for you mate. :)
Maybe I could think of a new character, but the long, or really even short, term longetivty of them are very in question. I find sometimes that the character is more fun to create than the actual RP, or the concept of the RP.

I think generally from RP to RP anyone's worst enemy is doing the same thing over and over again in new settings. You end up with dead lifeless characters because you're just creating pale copies of some awesome idea you had awhile back. I'll admit I'm guilty of this. I've got a file on my computer of all the CS I've created since joining this site. There's about twenty of them and looking back threw them I realized that sixteen out of the twenty are girls and about half of those had abusive childhoods and grew up to be hard strong women who could look after themselves and didn't need anyone else yet under all that armor wished for someone to see them as they really were. I was sort of stuck in a rut for awhile. It was easy to write cause the characters didn't have to take crap from anyone and they could get out of danger mostly unharmed but remaking the same character over and over again they begin to stagnate, the next one worse than that last cause you're just recreating an old idea that was meant for a different world.

Take a look at some of your past CSs if you start to spot commonalities between them then reverse them. If you favor strong characters create someone vulnerable, if you favor loners make a social character. Do something completely different and you'll find that the character is far more fun and more alive than anything you've been writing before.

Like in this RP, as I said I'm used to playing strong people who are always in control. So I created a character who's got strong attributes but has no control over her abilities what so ever. Someone who can be hurt by words easily and doesn't know how to hide it. Someone who tends to run away from problems instead of facing them and buckles when faced with argument. Completely opposite of what I usually do. Oh and I also gave her a mostly happy childhood which for my characters is pretty new. And I'm finding that Syrena is a lot more alive than any of the characters for RPs I've done recently and I'm looking forward to the start of this with a song in my heart and a smile on my lips.

Try something new, you might surprise yourself with how much you enjoy it.
I think that might sort of be the problem. When you write a character you aren't looking to see how he or she could survive in the world or fit into the RP. You're just writing what seems fun.
I just thought I'd let everyone know that since they're so much going on IC in so many different places I sort of gave up on tracking all of it. I'm really just reading the stuff that pertains to my character directly so if I'm ignorant of something important that would be why.
So regular mages can use stone spells? Pity I can't make use of that very often. I kinda decided that since I gave Syrena such powerful fire abilities they clash with any other magical elements she tries to use. It's not that she can't use other elemental tomes, she can use them just fine but her fire magic will cause the tomes to burn out in a rather violent way after one use so it's not exactly cost effective.

I might pull that out later as a move of desperation if a battle is going particularly badly. She steals someone else's tome and causes it to explode. :) Fun.
