Territory Description
A majority of Greenland is covered in ice with no real arable land, however, it has plenty of raw resources hidden away within the land. There are some mounts more inland, not where most settlements are. Iceland, on the other hand, there are many mountains with a little bit more, 1.2 percent, arable land than Greenland.
Government Description Adela Natan - Supreme Dictator of the government, she holds the final say in nearly all matters of her nation. She is typically seen as a benevolent ruler who allows her people to live free lives but watches closely to see if there are any traitors within the nation, the only reason is to keep national security.
Saxton Wells - Minister of Security, he holds power over the police force as well as some of the more restricted parts of the police force. He holds power just under Adela and is typically seen as the person who will come into power should Adela meet a grim fate.
Linda Wellington - Minister of Relations, she holds power to interact with other nations and no one seeks an audience with Adela without going through her. She handles all forms of communications to other nations whether it be carrier pigeon or radio frequency.
Philip Maxus - Minister of the Future, He handles the development of technology. That is about it.
William Daniel - Minister of Happiness - He is responsible for keeping the civilians happy through propaganda, rights, and so forth. With the fear of secret police getting someone at any moment, the people could use some happiness in their lives.
Nation GoalsThe long term goal for the Union of Greenland is to make sure that Fascists get a good name, especially after the nazi’s ruined it. As for a short term goal, the Union wishes to unite all the surrounding lands, including but not limited to: The British Isles, Newfoundland, and the East coast of America.
Recent History Greenland and Iceland found relative peace after the first world war, being under the rule of the Danish people. Many of them longed for independence and that was what they got, especially with the newly founded League of Nations supporting their claims. Both of the islands got their independence from Denmark and proceeded to form their own respective nations. Greenland formed the first ever fascist state while Iceland proceeded to form a democracy in 1921. It wasn’t until 1934 until Greenmark made a daring land grab for Iceland, yet failed. Thus they received many punishments from the League of Nations, essentially they got off scot free.
Iceland, who was angered by these lax punishments, proceeded to blockade Greenland and cut off all trade. Being a prime oil producer, this was met with a lot of force from some the League who disarmed the nation and imposed many tariffs.
Greenland took the opportunity in 1936 and openly defied the League of Nations in order to attempt to take Iceland once more. This time it was a success. Greenland quickly stomped out any resistance before establishing their rule over the island. The League tried to increase their puny punishment which meant absolutely nothing to Greenland. Yet, they sat idle for a long period of time, simply waiting for a chance to claim the British Isles. They would get the chance when World War Two began, siding with the Axis and supporting Hitler’s campaign. That was until they learned of what his true intentions were.
The holocaust led for Greenland to switch sides and began a naval war against Germany, supporting the allies. Then the bombs dropped on the lands. Luckily, Greenland and Iceland were not hit by any nuclear weapons in a major sense, but the bombs would still heavily affect them. Nuclear fallout swept across the oceans and would plague their ocean waters and it would rain down upon them. This was a large killer for their population, over 40% were dead within the span of of the span of two years.
It was 1946 and Greenland was suffering, they were in a vast downcline, however they had succeeded in helping to destroy the Reich. Leadership needed a change, and the first dictator, Donald Shepard, was unfortunately removed from office by a “popular vote” from the people. In truth, the people revolted against him and nearly killed the poor man. Soon Adela Natan, an Icelandic woman, took power by promising that everything would turn out fine and everything would be fixed.
Greenland did turn around, they began to see their population increase once more and began making significant strides to see that the nation would be returned to its former glory. The people were happy and the nation gained measures to prevent themselves from being harmed by the fallout. Luckily the fallout began to lessen in their region of the world, but they were not so sure about the rest of the world.
1983 comes around and Greenland has made a near full recovery, albeit with not as much fuel and material as they were not supplied by any foreign nation. Though work to continue oil production has begun and there are multiple operating Hydropower plants in Iceland.
Military Airforce:
The Union holds a small air force with only fifteen old fighter craft and five bombers, their numbers decimated in the Second World War. They hope to improve this margin.
Army:
With a small population, they can really only support twenty thousand men at a given time. They do have an additional ten thousand in reserves.
Navy:
This is by far their largest asset in their military with a single Dreadnought, a single carrier, five battleships, twenty cruisers, fifteen frigates, and ten transports.

Economy Fishing makes up the bulk of their economy, but the economy also consists of oil drilling, mining, animal husbandry (primarily sheep), and agriculture.
EnergyTheir primary source of energy is from the oil wells in Greenland, they are also harnessing some hydropower in Iceland.
Communications The Union primarily uses radios and telegrams to send communications to both officials and citizens alike. Not everyone can afford the radio, but a good bulk of the population can with only every couple of families not owning one.
TransportationCars and Ships are what primarily drive the transportation in the Union, it allows for people to get around much faster than if they were on foot. Not all citizens own cars but it is something.
