"If you kill a man, you scorn his wife. If you kill his wife, you scorn her child. If you kill her child, you scorn his village. If you kill his village, you scorn the kingdom. If you kill the kingdom you scorn an empire. If you kill an empire, then who is left?"

Oh I totally do, lemme rewrite my post.
Fury was attempting a full mount, and that would put Kanitah solely on the defensive until Fury leeched every ounce of energy from his body. However, it would give Kanitah the perfect position to pin Fury. Allowing the full mount to take place, Kanitah dropped both of his arms to his chest and pushed both of his feet outwards and back. Putting himself into a counter mount posture, protecting his chest and head with his forearms and putting his feet behind Fury's. Once the mount went through, Kanitah brought his right foot inwards around Fury's left foot, this would pin his ankle in place.

"Didn't know you swing like that, Fury. Is this the experimental phase where you're not quite sure who you are? It's okay, most boys go through it." Kanitah joked as the situation was moving into much dire straights, an incendiary comment or two couldn't hurt. Besides, he was already in a bad position. Not like it could get much worse, aside from dying.
I'll have a post up in a bit, kinda totally into the rematch between Kanitah and Fury, as well I'm still reading through the books.
Fury was a clingy som'bitch, that was for sure. They hit the ground hard, a bit of a crater forming underneath their combined weight as they skidded to a stop. It became instantly evident that Fury was trying to drain him by keeping him pinned down and grappled. The passive drain felt like someone was tugging at every fiber of his being, and if he didn't do something about it there would be hell to pay. There are really only two ways out of this kind of grapple. A wild grapple like this one was easier to get out of than a calculated grapple, and it was pretty evident that Fury's attempt hadn't worked out the way he originally planned.

The deadlocked pair had almost the exact same idea at the exact same time, and positioning between the two was entirely key to the effectiveness of their attacks. Kanitah's right arm was still in the position it had been left in from the failed strike to Fury's crown. This allowed for an almost instant response to the repositioning. Kanitah matched Fury's elbow with his own in a downwards strike, putting his arm between his head and Fury's arm. "Lemme go you filthy leech!" The words were spat from his mouth as he bellowed them to Fury, a bit of spittle flying from his lips towards his foe.
Alright, so it's safe to go ahead and post?
Okay, sounds entirely reasonable.
Yeah, let's keep it at what you said instead of the way I said. When I wrote up how I originally thought they work I instantly thought; Wait. That can't be right.

Though the secondary effect of the rings does come into play once we start grappling.
The secondary ability of Darligrov is attributed to its divine, as opposed to occult, nature. Anyone deemed unjust by Kanitah's perspective are burned by the rings, this burning sensation has been described as: "Dipping your hand in acid." And it is caustic enough to leave permanent scars on your body if left in place long enough.

I suppose instead of what I said previously, I would have to say: The Rings have to be in motion for the effect to activate. Otherwise we might get into some really weird physics questions.
Also, they work off of contact with the encircled areas of his body. If he lashes out, it's 3x. If they are struck, the equal and opposite force rule is out the window. Instead, the opposing returning force is 3x.
It bathes him in a calm auburn rings of light, they wrap around his body's strike zones. The list of striking zones and the number of rings are listed as follows; head(2), shoulders(4), elbows(4), hands(4), forearms(4), knees(4), feet(4), and chest(2).

That's the list in the CS, for reference.
