When did I say you didn't know what a vector was? Obviously you would know what the aspects of a vector were. I was describing what exactly the magnitude and direction referred to in the case of displacement.
Regardless, I'm not in physics this year; I'm in Chem II.
Similarly, I'm a chemist; not a physicist.

Not in this case. Displacement as referred to in physics is a vector. The magnitude is the distance from the point of origin and the direction is, well, the direction. In relation to how you've oriented the coordinate plane. If it's one dimensional, then there's only positive and negative directions, and if it's 2D, there's northeast, south, etcetera.
I know what a vector is. I had to study them to figure out how Ma'at worked.
