I'd imagine your race to be much like the flood, spore infection first then you take the ships of the ones you've infected. I'd say you'd snowball pretty heavily if left unchecked. There are a lot of other traits that your faction exhibits that would make it somewhat more difficult to melt such a snowball, such as ease of infection and being resistant to most if not all human weapons (Aside from fire, though I'd imagine there'd be something one about that too) So, anything short of molecular bond deconstruction or atomization would be an exercise in futility.

Yes, of course.

SECTOR 7 – AREGLIA SYSTEM

Siege of Areglia

The Areglia system is a binary star system with a fluctuating gravity phenomenon that prevents effective use of conventional ships. The Concordat forces along with the Emporiums Vanguard continue to lay siege to the system’s diverse populace. These races successfully took their planet and downed Emporium ships through the use of illegal weaponry. Naturally, the nearest Emporium and Concordat forces converged on their location.

The Areglian’s and their allies on a moon in the orbit of a nearby gas giant have made a large fleet of warships to contest the system. No doubt the sloppy work of a subpar militia member. The first few days were quite brutal, gravitational anomalies have taken almost half of the arriving Emporium forces; the Concordat on the other hand, fared much better due to the EID’s installed on their ships, allowing them to surf the electromagnetic waves generated by the fluctuating gravitational fields.

The Areglian’s and the Rut’gar still put up a major fight, despite being heavily outnumbered. Eventually, the Concordat called in heavier reinforcements to break the siege, their arrival was projected within the hour.

  • The Silent Ascension
  • 2 minutes before arrival
  • Sector 7 Magisterial Fleet

Stirring a spoon in a white cup, its light tinging sound ringing across the command bridge breaking the tenuous silence. “Estimated time to arrival?” Julia’s voice then echoed into the room, her authority was immediately made present. A man on a computer replied quickly, “Two minutes Ma’am!” he stated, his voice hoarse as if he was coming down with a cold. “Come again Junior Lieutenant?” Julia asked coldly, the man cleared his throat and spoke again in reply, “Ma’am! Two minutes Ma’am!” His voice sounded much clearer, Julia simply nodded and took a sip of her coffee.

“Bones…” Julia’s voice beckoned in the dark room, an A.I. construct appeared, “Yes ma’am” the A.I.’s metallic voice answered her call. “Give me the tactical map, grid info, statistics, and star data recordings.” In an instant after Julia spoke, the A.I. Bones filled the dark bridge with a holographic projection of the fleet battle raging over both Alegria and Femora – the gas giant.

The hologram revealed that the concordat and Emporium forces are having trouble due to the fluctuating E.M. field around the stars creating a gravitational phenomenon making it difficult for most ships to navigate through the system without losing the ship itself. The system was highly regulated with small ships entering as they were less likely to be torn apart by the E.M. waves. The concordat had no such problems, the EID should allow The Silent Ascension to glide through it with ease.

“Fleet status Bones?” The A.I. answered Julia immediately, “Several large Emporium vessels have been lost, escape pods have been recovered. Many Emporium ships have been heavily damaged and the Concordat fleet assisting them has been engaged in combat for quite too long without support. Anything else miss Greystone Ma’am?” The A.I. awaited more orders, Julia simply gestured a wave and the entire hologram faded and the room fell to darkness again. “Estimated time to arrival?” She checked again, “Sixty Seconds ma’am!” the Junior Lieutenant answered, “Give me a line to the Colonel aboard the Sword of Truth.” She barked, the Lieutenant’s fingers danced across the keys simultaneously replying, “Yes Ma’am! Patching you through now!”

“Colonel!” Shouted one of the troopers, already geared for the conflict, “It’s the Fleet Admiral!” At that same moment, a tall figure stood at the back of the equipment area near the armory – Colonel Marion Cutter. He took a long stride, heavy steps could be heard banging on the metal flooring, “Yes, ma’am?” His helmet and mask made his voice sound deeper and muffled. “Colonel, the fleet will be opening up a gap in their defense, use this moment to take your forces and plunge it deep into the heart of the Rut’gar homeworld. The Lord Grand Marshal will be doing the same with Alegria.” Julia’s stern voice emitted an aura of authority, but the Colonel unfazed by her voice replied, “Ma’am, our ships will be able to get to Luzik, Femora’s largest moon, but we’ll need orbital support when we get there.” Julia was taken aback by the colonel’s tenacity to talk back to a superior – she liked that. “I will take command of the Destroyers there and ask them to give you orbital support when necessary, they’re not much, but they’ll do for a while, we’ll crush the enemy fleet in a few hours give or take a few exceptions.” The Colonel chuckled, “Ma’am, my men know you as Miss Gravestone, but-“ Julia cut him off taking offense, “Colonel, I warn you to watch your boundaries. We’re nearing our objective, I suggest you get ready.” The Colonel spoke up, “Let me finish Ma’am. They call you Miss Gravestone for the number of enemies you kill. You’ve saved my men countless times with your command, I’ve every drop of faith invested in you Ma’am. Heia Huzzah!” He saluted, Julia smirked at his remark, her service record is far from perfect, several thousands have died under her command, the only reason why the ground forces survive is because of the sacrifices she makes trying to save them.

The screen shut off and the rest of the forces started loading up into their gunships, Furok, Drones, Gulgarans, Mechs, Tanks, along with humans. The invasion was about to begin. The colonel then rallied his men, Auxiliary or Human, and spoke on open comms with the other transports in his strike force.

“Brave fighting men and women of the Eighth Concordat battle group. We stand at the precipice of war once again!” He shouted, being heard on the many ships going into combat.

With a unanimous cheer, the soldiers of the battle group yelled, “Huzzah!”

The colonel continued, “And once again, we are sent in to wipe the floor until it is stained with the blood of our enemies!”

The Soldiers yelled “Huzzah!” loudly and proudly.

“And if they want to take us with them, then our reply will be short and simple! We shall send them a belly full of lead and a pool of their own blood to drown in! Am I right men?!” He yelled, directing the question to everyone in the Battle group.

“Huzzah Colonel Cutter!” They yelled in reply.

“And the corps will kick their assess like footballs and hand ‘em back, flat! Am I right men!?” He asked again, yelling even louder.

“Huzzah Colonel Cutter!” Their yell was loud, it was full of confidence and pride.

“Give me a Huzzah for the Corps, a Huzzah to the fleet, and a Heia Huzzah to our Emperor! And after that, let’s get in our gunships and kick some Xeno ass!” He raised a fist into the air and started shouting with his men. “Huzzah! Huzzah! Heia Huzzah!” they started running into their gunships and loading their weapons, the tanks started to load into their specialized Chariot Gunships, several Furok and Gulgaran infantry checked their weapons before loading up. The battle was about to begin.

When the fleet exited FTL, they were greeted with fighting almost immediately, the dreadnought made short work of the ships that engaged it. It ripped apart several ships simultaneously and released its fighters, several other ships made the jump with the dreadnought, such as Judicators, Enforcers, Crusaders, Purifiers, Hunters, and several Intervention and Guardian classes joined the fleet combat.

The fleet moved in between the Jovian giant and Areglia, they essentially bisected the enemy fleet allowing for a coordinated assault on both fronts now that they are clearly divided. The Silent Ascension and the Malevolent Cascade the two dreadnoughts leading the strike fleets took position on both Femora and the its moon – Luzik. Their enemies were vastly different from each other, one was a peaceful agricultural/industrial race and the other a warrior community with various tribes. Areglia was the former, Luzik was the latter. The only thing that brought them together is hostile occupation. The Rut’gar are a people who seem to be more slimy and covered in slick jelly, the Areglians are an ape like species, hairy, several appendages, and apposable thumbs for starters. They both have achieved a tech level where they can create starships and create weapons, they have been at war with each other for a long time until the Human invasion of their home world.

They planned for this, however, the Concordat was not the same as its parent. The Concordat would invade in sequence. Orbital bombardments, then shock troops, then main force, then armed occupation. After the planets have been taken over, their culture will be stripped, their children will be taken, and the planet itself may even be purged.

The fleet battle raged on, Xeno ships becoming desperate to break the Concordat grip on the system practically threw themselves into the Silent Ascension and the Malevolent Cascade only to be destroyed before even reaching them. The two fleets outputted a torrent of metallic rods, lasers, missiles, and torpedoes at the enemy; some who were unfortunate enough to get too close to a Gulgaran ship suffered boarding actions. The enemy crew were eviscerated and dismembered by the Gulgarans. The enemy force during the height of their insurrection had three thousand ships, less than a few minutes after Julia and the Malevolent Cascade arrived, less than four hundred even remain operational or in enemy control all against the dreadnought and its combined fleet strengths.

“Damage assessment!” Julia commanded, her voice echoed in the room, “Ma’am the Malevolent Cascade and her fleet have suffered 5.8% damage, mostly due to the Gulgaran vessels throwing themselves at the enemy. Our fleet have suffered a total of 4.1% damage, again also due to the Gulgarans.” The Junior Lieutenant reported. Julia looked on into the hologram of the entire battle, it was near pitiful, the enemy had tried using the same tactics on the Concordat ships that worked for the Emporium ships, the drastically different design made it difficult to out maneuver and outgun. The Concordat focused on round ships due to its unique effective firing area. A three-hundred sixty degree effective firing area, no matter where they went around the battleships, they always had a turret or a gun or a laser that had an angle on you. Of course they weren’t impervious, but it was substantial to note.

Julia noticed several blips on the holoprojection and asked “Status report on the landing force?” The Junior Lieutenant then stated, “They’re about to begin their landing sequence, many of our destroyers are ready for the first part of the invasion.” Julia smiled, and she raised her hand chest level then extended it outward, a gesture to focus all fire power on the planets surface.

Thousands of rods, lasers, missiles, and torpedoes impacted the planet’s surface, their orbital defenses never having the chance to even fire as they melt and turn to slag. The Malevolent Cascade and its fleet began doing much of the same. The fighters that buzzed around the many ships doing battle was like a swarm of bees, many of which turned their attention to the planets bellow them and began accompanying the shock troops. Multiple preliminary bombing runs on important structures took place and the fires of the cities burned high. The resistance forces of the planet would be severely reduced if not completely destroyed. Julia chuckled and said “Another one for the Emporium, and another renowned victory for the Concordat! Huzzah! For the Emperor!” she cheered, the members of her crew celebrated with a sharp “Huzzah!” and continued with their direction of the various drones and inner workings of the ships systems. Julia now left the second part of the invasion to rest on the Ground forces.

Captian and Shipmaster of the Emporium third Fleet of Sector 7, Roland Ingris, he watched the ships of the Concordat utterly destroy the insurrection group, a raw show of power. He himself could not muster the strengths of his fleet to fight in the conflict, but he could prevent the ships from attempting to escape. “Position our ships along these grids.” He pointed towards a Holographic projection of the battle, and immediately, the remaining ships that he had at his disposal carried out his orders. The fingers of his crew danced along their keyboards, the helmsman kept the ship itself steady. The Looming Reconciliation and her wounded fleet, attempted to regain what little dignity they had left.

Suddenly, a group of Imperial troops walked into the bridge itself, “Captain Ingris.” The man nodded, Ingris recognized him by the name tag on his armor and addressed him as such, “Commander Fey… What brings you here to my bridge?” he asked. The commander replied, “My forces are ready to deploy in their gunships, we wish to assist in the invasion.” His voice somewhat suggestive, as if he was trying to convince the captain to let him and his men go. “Go ahead Commander, just know that by this point, it isn’t our jurisdiction anymore, we may operate above the Concordat, but the Concordat has operational command. They’ve had it ever since they got here and started destroying the enemy themselves.” Ingris turned to marvel at the Concordat’s combined strength, “Time really does wonders to people, don’t you think Commander?” The Commander nodded, and left without saying a word.

The captain then ordered his comms officer to report what’s happened in the system, he also ordered his other crew to keep the Data of this battle for future use. He thought it could be used for propaganda, or perhaps a recruitment video, it was definitely within the realm of possibility. He sat down on his command chair and retired to his thoughts as he watched the enemy ships burn, smiling from ear to ear.

  • 07:00 Capital time
  • Colonel Marion Cutter, 8th Concordat Battle Group
  • Second Stage: Shock Combat
  • Femora moon, Luzik
  • Siege of Areglia Campaign

The Eighth Concordat Battle group began its assault with specially fitted gunships, the gunships started their approach as normal. Colonel Marion witnessed the bombers fly past his viewport. “Looks like the preliminary strategic bombing is going to begin.” His men beside him activated their hydraulic compensators, they were going to drop, quite literally, on top of the enemy forces. The gunships witnessed the mass bombing, one by one the enemy forces dove for cover but to no avail. The bombs incinerated the ground next to them, then the gunships dove in firing their auto-cannons and their missile pod winglets. The doors opened and the colonel and his men dropped a good twenty feet from the ground, the colonel felt the impact almost shake the ground, then he looked behind him to see the Assault Mechs come in.

“Kick some ass boys!” The tanks rushed by him firing their munitions, the shock troopers along with Gulgaran support ripped up the first bout of defenders, they led the way for the rest of the Shock corps. Gunships buzzed around dropping off men, tanks, and assault mechs while doing the occasional gun-run. The Gulgarans with their energy blades still lit, charged at the enemies, gracefully dodging shots and returning fire. The weapons that the Rut’gar used were quite primitive, acid-spitting weapons, neutralized only by their own goop. When the Shock forces reached the Rut’gar lines, they were utterly eviscerated, the first line of Gulgarans lunged into their lines cutting limbs and decapitating foes, the second line jumped over and continued advancing returning fire to those in the back. Cutter and his shock troops poured into the gaps that the Gulgarans were making, the Furok infantry men marching towards a position where they could laydown heavy fire on retreating Rut’gar forces.

Eventually, defending forces were pushed back into their cities and the tanks could finally begin their bombardment. Within minutes the rumbling ground and the sounds of tank treads would settle and a distinct whir of the hydraulics and machinery planting the tank firmly into the ground could be heard. Colonel Cutter pulled up his binoculars to eye a certain city, he viewed defenders ushering people down into the basements, Cutter scoffed and raised a hand into the air, preparing to signal the artillery. The tanks crews calculated the distance and adjusted, the whir of their turrets turning and orienting themselves filled the air, and as they stopped, a loud clunk signaled that they were in position.

Cutter held his hand in the air giving their enemy a false sense of hope, he waited until their people were all underneath the structure of the city. When he saw the last person in the outskirts go down into the city depths, he let his hand drop as if he had been holding an axe to an execution. A metallic bang resonated out of each of the tanks, Cutter watched the city turn into rubble in under thirty minutes as it was subjected to a prolonged barrage. Heavy tungsten metal rods with a high explosive charge impacted into the buildings and the ground piercing deep underneath and detonating, all of them traveling mach4. Cutter signaled stop when the dust was so high, and the fires burning so bright, that even from orbit it looked like an orange ball of dust. The same thing happened in Areglia, the Arbiter and the Marshal did not show mercy to the Areglians, even when they showed human hostages at some point. The Concordat and Emporium troops dispatched specialized divisions in order to rescue as many human captives as they could, but unfortunately, fifty-two hostages out of two-hundred and seven died during the siege.

  • Three hours later
  • Julia Greystone, Valarian Marduke, William Merlock
  • The Silent Ascension & The Malevolent Cascade
  • Luzik & Areglia
  • Siege Ultimatum

The Siege lasted a total of Two days, the moment the two dreadnoughts arrived and their fleet of forty ships each, the siege crumbled in Four Hours. William in the Malevolent Cascade left the comms open to all channels on a system-wide setting. “Attention Areglians and Rut’gar, the remainder of your race has been spared. To those who want to continue the legacy of their respective race, you are to surrender unconditionally to Emporium and Concordat forces within the next half hour. If not, you and your petty rebellion will be burned and forgotten. Your choice…” He gestured to the comms officer to cut off open communication and the long wait began.

Shipmaster Ingris heard the broadcast and sent a message via his own ship-to-ship communications array, “Lord Grand Marshal, I think it is safe to assume that the enemy will never surrender. They are animals that deserve to be-“ William cut him off, “Shipmaster Ingris, we came here to assist you, but we do things our way. These ‘animals’ as you call them are also a viable slave force. They provide most if not all the labor on these planets. Luzik was once an industrial world, Areglia was once an agricultural world, both play big parts in the Emporium’s and Concordat’s efforts in Sector 7. Now if you want to explain to the Emperor why we have to spend billions of imperial credits to reseed planets essential to commercial and military efforts here in Sector 7, then I will execute your course of action. We spared a large portion of the planet for a reason.” Ingris was taken aback by the Mirrodian human said. The Red Gentleman gave him a scolding, though Luzik and Areglia were just two worlds, they provided 10.6% of the Sector’s munitions, metals, weapons, and ship components and 23.9% of the Sector’s food stuffs. They could not lose these planets completely, as the already expensive investigation and catalogue of all goods from the system has to be conducted in case of sabotage.

Ingris stood down, the Mirrodian had a point, any losses here in the system could spell a huge resource sink in this sector, resources that could be used to fight the other rebellions raging across the Galaxy. The Mekharan front was still quite active, naval clashes are quite frequent, boarding actions are rare but they happen, the more resources that go into research against them is another step into winning the war. So, they waited for nearly twenty-three minutes, finally a response from Areglia, “We are surrendering, we have lost over forty percent of our population.” When the Areglians surrender, the Rut’gar surrendered soon after.

“Bones, contact James Mott…” The Silent Ascensions A.I. responded quickly, the call directly connected to the Lord Grand Inquisitor. “Julia, what a surprise, I was just finishing up a possible gambling ring here in Sector 13. What do you need of me?” the young white haired Mirrodian smirked at the sight of the very beautiful Julia Greystone. “Hmph, I see you’re still doing good with your constant work…” Julia smirked back, “I need you to arrange a heavier patrol here in Sector 7, Areglia Binary system.” James reached into his coat, still smirking, producing a datapad. He tapped the datapad a few times then showed it on Hologram, “How’s this?” Julia squinted at the datapad, “A Dreadnought, several destroyers, two carriers, ten enforcers, and a bunch of Gulgaran ships… I believe that should suffice.” Julia nodded in approval, “I’ll see you at the Capital.” She said, “Oh. You’ll definitely see me.” The young Mirrodian winked, and the Holoprojection shutoff.

Valarian oversaw the capture of remaining rebel groups on the surface of Areglia. He stayed with his forces at a forward operating base in one of the broken captured cities, "Status of the rebellion?" he asked as it echoed in the hall of the once prestigious city hall of the capital, "Sir..." The deep voice of a Gulgaran answered, "The rebellion has crumbled into many smaller factions, their leaders has issued an official surrender, however the factions remain." Valarian stared at the shiny helmet of the Gulgaran chieftain, he then turned on a holoprojection with up-to-date scans. "Points of conflict are happening in very localized areas, we should be able to quell it in a few days. Ilderian, what do you make of the situation?" Valarian asked, "I think it is too soon to call total victory. Only when hostilities end can we declare that we reign supreme." Ilderian - the Gulgaran Chieftain - replied to the satisfaction and caliber that Valarian expected such a race connected to the Concordat to answer, their tolerance of the Gulgarans have paid off in such great ways. The Gulgarans have trained their soldiers in physical fitness and hand to hand, they also taught them ways of surviving in the wilderness of various planets. The Gulgarans were adept, loyal, and most of all, useful. Valarian looked on around him as Furok, human, and gulgaran worked together to create a base of operations with no qualms nor fear, he was quite happy with what the Concordat has achieved.

The Galaxy was one rebellion less that day, the fleet and its task force only awaited its new guardians. The relief would come in a day or two, one thing was for certain, the indifference of the universe proved itself again that day. Hope, extinguished within a few hours of an assault, no mercy, no remorse, and the universe did not even shed a tear.
Neutering for population control! >XD

Of course I'm here.

In Sweden, Heinrich and Brandon were relaying orders left and right within the command tent. The entire garrison was mobilized for a good fight, the missile stations were ready, all Heinrich needed to do was get some calls through to the AESR and Britain.

"Get those calls through!" Heinrich barked, ordering the comms officer to get a clear comms channel. Brandon kept track of the spread of the attacks, reports comming in all over, from Italy, Egypt, and all the way across asia. "This is a fucking mess..." grunted the old man, Brandon couldn't believe the scale of it, it was like the second world war all over again.

It took some time, as there was much chaos around - but eventually his com-officer managed to get into contact with the current leader of AESR. Likely, cause they didn't bother of making a Gate in the first place and weren't stuck in such a situation.

Soon enough, the figure of a blond woman, in a gray suit appeared on their screen - with the numerous other members of AESR in the background. "This is President Anna Bērziņš. What is going on here? What is this madness unleashed?" she called, her German being heavily accented but understandable.

The Comms officer shot up and said, "Sir, line's yours!" and in a moment, the seats shifted, and a man in formal military dress filled his place. "This the Germanic Republic's Secretary of Defense, Army Field marshal, and current Commander-in-Chief, Heinrich Erikson speaking..." His words carried heavy responsibility, so many titles, as was the governing system in the Republic. "Not to dawdle any longer madam president, but the Germanic Republic has suffered the loss of our city; every inch of land around the Germanic Republic is being consumed by creatures that have come from the ga-..." He paused for a moment as his ensign whispers in his ear.

"Forgive the interuption, but we're getting reports that the Vatican has fallen and the rest of Italy's leadership with it. The situation is dire madam President, we are asking for aid in these times." His expression was grim, every minute that passes is a hundred people killed; he couldn't help but feel betrayed by Legacy, especially when they promised progress.

"Yes...we can see it happening from our screens," replied Anna, as they had a direct connection with everything happening around Europe, America, Asia and so-on. Except that they were the only ones, amongst some other small nations whom didn't invest in the miracle progress solution.

"What are you asking from us?" she asked - keeping it civil for the time being. Despite the fact, that most of AESR had been butting heads with the Germans ever since they regained their sovereignty in 1999. It was kind of ironic now - as those whom had been forgotten in a War long ago - had the same people begging at their doorstep now.

"Our armed forces are being mobilized...not to mention we need to fortify our border with the Russian Federation - I assume you know of the nuclear detonation in Siberia," she added - indicating that whatever help they could offer might not be...much. Although, she didn't mention about the Missile Defense Network. Namely, beside the Americans, Israelis and Russians - the missile technology of AESR was fourth in the world. Intelligence reports stating that AESR likely had enough missiles to level two hundred cities on either side if it wanted.

Heinrich nodded silently, considering the AESR's position. He let out sigh, "The nuclear detonation in Siberia surprised us. Siberia is a remote location, desolate, a dessert of ice and snow." He paused, looking at the gate locations, "There are no plausible reasons for them to have nuked that location. Unless, there is something we're missing. But I digress, The Germanic Republic is trying to get Britain on the line, we're trying to coordinate hypersonic missile strikes on every state that has fallen in the last few hours."

Heinrich gestured Brandon to move aside so that the map was in plain veiw. "I'm sure you're already aware, but the following countries that have fallen are Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands. Britain is currently holding, but the London gate is becoming problematic, as is the Berlin gate." Another soldier came into the tent, "Sir! 5th Wiking reporting their situation in Austria! They're getting some trouble from the South!"

Brandon immediately ordered, "Tell them to retreat towards the Alpen territory, they won't make it towards the east, relay the order for the garrisons in the east of Austria to start fortifying their locations and tell them to prepare for a long war!" Heinrich looked back at the screen, "It seems Austria is now in the firing line, Switzerland might hold for a while longer, but they won't hold indefinitely." He marked the locations on the map while a Comms officer rattled off the coordinates. "We don't have much time" his face portraying stress, indicating that time was of the essence.

"If your worried about refugees going for our borders - you don't have to worry about that. Our border guards have been mobilized," she replied. Or namely, they were simply told to prepare for arrivals. Compared to the rest of the 'Western civilized Europe' - the nations of AESR had directly refused to accept any refugees during the Arab Spring that happened in 2015. That affected Tunisia, Egypt and Libya. They had gone so far, as to construct actual barbed wire fences - reminiscent of Cold War times.

If there was anything to measure AESR with - it was militant isolationism and non-interventionism. Beyond trade, what else happened in the outside world didn't concern AESR at all. Even condemnation from the UN and threats of sanctions didn't shake them.

"So I ask again - what are you calling us for?" she asked - namely curious, since the current Secretary of Defense hadn't stated WHAT he wanted from AESR in particular.

"We are asking for missile support, particularly in these areas." He pointed to the map again, "I had hoped that was obvious enough for you when I mentioned that we were coordinating missile strikes, but I digress. Will you aid us, or will you stand neutral in the face of a threat that doesn't discriminate what you represent?" He stepped forward and sat back down, he was familiar with the general apathy that AESR treats refugees, which wasn't his primary concern in the first place.

"I present to you a choice, help us slow down the threat, or watch us die trying and then deal with what even we couldn't stop." up to that point no one had shown combat footage against the invaders, even in dire times people still kept secrets. "I am sharing a video feed from the front lines as of the moment." The video feed of course showed the combat involved, one of the most heavily armed militaries in the world defending the borders of their country. "A mob of thousands, a wave of green, these creatures are swarming in every direction, if you think this problem will go away, it will not. At this very moment, I have forgotten about nationality. This is an attack on the whole of humanity madam President, will you help us stand together, or will you watch us fall together." He expanded on the choice further, his tone harsh, but understandably so.

"The same line was used by us sixty years ago....and in the same notion we were rejected and our world almost came close to annihilation," she replied in kind. Back when AESR had been simply fresh young democracies that had escaped the yoke of the Russian and German Empire.

Back when the many young nations almost begged aid - before they were sold out to the Soviets and their people deported to Siberia in the thousands. No AESR country had remained unaffected - several times they had attempted rebellion and freedom, only to be crushed under the Soviet Iron boot - while the West just watched. Only when the USSR went bankrupt did the various Satellite states manage to get free on their own accord.

Not to mention, how they allowed the Soviets access to the nuclear option - and continue oppressions against their people. It was a natural reaction from President Anna as well - when the worst came out, people first looked to their own and then others. Despite the tone she used - she had more notion than most. Leave it to AESR that the one think they had plenty beside outside dislike was pragmatism.

"Your asking us, to turn our Missile Defense Network onto targets in the West? You do realize, that likely the Russian side might have a Gate of their own. While else would they unleash such a literal and evident explosion happen," she added. "We'd be defenseless then..."

"I likely would be asking too much from a German - that they'd aid us, against any Hordes from the East, since I know how humans usually operate-" she stated. Namely they own first, and others maybe. "-ugh....give us targets. If we do this, can you prevent any monsters from overwhelming our Western Borders?"

Or namely, that the Germans wouldn't let any of these creatures overwhelm and spill over onto the AESR' western border.

The Marshal had a simple answer, but he would be lying if he stated that answer, and this was no time for lies. "We can hold them, and if any spill through, assume that all of us have died." he felt the need to say a few more words, but all he could say was "Thank you." imediately assuming that she was saying yes.

The Germanic people have long known of the suffering of the people from AESR, the countries within it have been subject to two world wars, and have been occupied at some points by two battling nations. In world war one, the Germans fought against them and the West and lost, in world war two they fought with them against the Communist disease, but failed to stop them achieving nuclear power. Germany and the Republic have failed the AESR more than once, it was time they did it right. They would all die fighting, and if they do, the world will either live on to remember them, or forget them as the world falls.

President Anna, soon contacted the Missile Defense Network Control Command - as she soon got a reply in Polish. As she replied in kind, and soon authorized the activation of their Deterrence Order. Soon enough, she had a special guard bring forward a laptop, that only one allowed connection.

She soon typed several coordinates in, and then swiped the keycard - from then, she looked behind her. As the others behind her nodded in reply - before she pushed one button. Namely that was the order to the numerous units all across the many countries. As Missile Bridgades, Silo Commanders and Island Defense Bunkers got confirmation and targets for the launch of their missile stockpile.

From the Marshal' perspective he could soon see the scene unfold. As namely his entire screen of their Eastern border was filled up with about a thousand red dots. He likely now knew - why the West didn't like to poke much at AESR. Since this volley alone had enough to sink every American vessel in service.

"This is General Alexander, to all forces inside, AESR have launched missiles, we're getting aid!" Mary Alexander, female General incharge of the German region's garrisons. She was recieving orders from Sweden direct from the Secretary of Defense himelf.

Missile strikes incoming, five minutes to impact! Evacuate all you can, keep a mile distance!

The Germanic defense line was doing its very best to hold, but the fact was, they weren't fully mobilized, they were still getting every tank crewman, every paratrooper, every able bodied soldier to man their stations. Men from the navy used to call this all hands on deck, the missile strikes will buy them some time to mobilize.

The artillery crew were the first to witness the rockets comming through their binocs. "Fast movers incoming towards the city!" they watched as it screamed closer to its target.

They could see about several hundred missiles, all within several intervals - albeit, with the speed they were going they likely seemed to be going at the same speed or faster than that. As they missiles soon as they approached the city started to slowly climb up and up and up. One might fear and think, that the missiles might have malfunctioned or worse - gone after the satellite network above their country.

That was soon undone - when the crew could hear a loud bang or rather dozens of them. As the missiles soon screamed down into the city. Several dozen of them exploded against the streets below or over the city. Strangely enough they didn't seem to do much, except release an orange gas cloud.

Did AESR use chemical missiles then? Likely a UN violation, but that would likely be overlooked in such a situation like this. Except, it wasn't a chemical gas - as a dozen other missiles soon also dive-bombed into the city...and ignited the highly flammable gas.

The release of heat was instantenous, the heat almost felt a mile away. Like being near an oven - at least they could take comfort, that it was quick for anybody remaining in the city. As the fireball consumed everything in its path, setting many creatures in the streets on fire. For a human it would have been a quick death, for the Invaders it was a painful experience in dying - as it felt like their flesh was melting off their skin.

That lasted for about thirty seconds before the last fifteen missiles arrived - these a bit more slower and heavier then the last ones. As they streaked up and smashed down - this one was more...flashy. As suddenly with their detonation the flames, that had set almost all of Berlin on fire was exstinguished and then...there was bright flash. As the air was sucked away and the roar of a dying lion was heard for miles - as the thermobaric explosion purified anything and everything living within the heartland of Germany.

Alexander and the artillery crew stood in awe, she was so much in awe that she almost forgot to report back to the Secretary of Defense. She glanced down at the radio and grabbed it, "Direct hit! Maximum effect achieved sir!" she shouted, but she couldn't help but think of the many people that were still in their capital. Viperstrike and the defense force made it out somewhat intact, there were a few cassualties on the security forces.

Overall they managed to evacuate at least a third of the population. Alexander - the garrison did all they could, but there was no time to mourn the dead, they still had a war to fight.

AUSTRIA

The 5th Wiking was redirected towards the south after hearing reports of hard pressed units fighting off another wave from Italy, they had positioned themselves in a thick treeline on a hill top and along the defense line. Their canons firing as they went, "USE H.E. I SAID!" the gunner shouted, "MORE CONTACTS COMMING IN!" the commander called out, "TO THE EAST 231 by -30!" he barked, the turret rotated and fired, a large explosion caused green bodies to burst into several different peices.

A tank called out on the radio, "We have more incoming! We're running out of machinegun ammo!" Johan sat there, calling out orders as he immediately commanded, "Panzergrenadier units two and three, assist B company! Units Five, Six, and Seven, retreat from the bunker quadrant, you're going to be overrun!"

Johan looked at the situation, there was no way they were going to hold, they were getting reinforcements like a trickle, they had no time to mobilize, they might even have to lose Austria. Suddenly a crackle on the radio,

Attention, Hypersonic missiles incoming near the defense line, evacuate to a safer distance and hold for the fireworks, over!

Johan was relieved, he thought support would never come, but he never expected it to be a missile. A light growl in the wind afar signaled the presence of the missiles.

"All units fall back from the defense line! Incoming missiles!" Johan popped out of the hatch and watched it fly towards and over him screaming as it went.

The missiles flew as expected, before switching to their hypersonic speeds and detonating above the armies of the greenskins and avians. Nothing seemed to happen, as the missiles didn't even seem to make a very large explosion - although, a whistling was heard in the air. Like when one heard the whistle of a bullet pass-by over one' head.

This was slower, and something else. As suddenly, the greenskins were suddenly ripped apart in a tide of blood, as their entire ranks were suddenly ripped apart in a mangle of flesh and blood. Like the Angel of Death had come down and slashed his blade down at the inhuman creatures.

Instead it was the detonation of millions of flechettes and iron spikes inside the missile canisters - as a shower of metal was rained down upon the creatures. As the tiny projectiles tore apart skin and muscle from bone. In some cases, Johan could see a creature being reduced to a simple mist - so strong had been the force and acceleration of so many tiny projectiles.

These missiles were very precise - in such a fact, that they barely came close to their hold-out. Although, many soldiers could see how deadly this attack was - as trees were suddenly ripped apart by an unseen force. Several dozen of these missiles rained down - showering more and more metal rain around their battleground.

Many avians were simply ripped apart in the sky - as beside metal, a rain of bodies followed. Then after three minutes - it was over, the horde that had seemed to almost overwhelm them had simply...dropped dead. Their bodies punctured and shattered - the few survivors slowly dying off.

"WOO!" Johan shouted in joy, "TAKE THAT SHITHEADS!" the entire division and the neighboring garrisons were saved, Johan looked through his binocs and saw the greenskins and avians torn apart. At that moment the entire battlefield looked as if it had been through world war one. He picked up the radio, "Alright, let's use this little respite of relief, get those MG's set up, Gepards, I want them on vantage points, artillery, I want them in place! Let's go! We only have moments before the next attack!"

Johan then looked towards the horizon where the missiles came from and pulled up a compass. "Now I know who to thank for saving my men, we'll repay this debt."

SWEDEN

Heinrich recieves reports of all the confirmed missile strikes, he's sent some hypersonic seismic missiles of Germany's own helping out the Western front of the invasion. "Switzerland is confirming hits on mark sir!" Heinrich crosses out the Swiss on the map.

"All missiles confirming hit and reporting success, I thank you again Madam president, we've been spared a worse fate, at least for now. As long as we're able to do so, we will hold the line. We wish you luck against the East, if there is anything more we can do, ask of it." Heinrich spoke frankly, he was thankful, the Republic will have enough time to mobilize its entire military force. There were going to be more defenders against this foreign threat.

President Anna kept her face stoic - as expected of an ex-Communist state leader. They kept their emotions behind an iron mask and only showed their true emotions to trusted friends. She nevertheless cracked a small smile. "Hope this was helpful...keep your eyes also on the East. There is no telling what will be coming from beyond Siberia," she replied.

With that notion, she cut communications and their line was severed. Although, this act likely saved millions and tens of millions in the near future.
"COME ON YOU APES! YOU WANNA LIVE FOREVER!?"

THE PLOT

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

In an unknown year in the far flung future, mankind wages an interstellar war with a new and terrifying enemy; the Bugs of Klendathu. The Citizen Federation of Earth fights a losing war against the bugs as millions die on both sides, while the intelligence bureau frantically attempts to probe the bugs for weaknesses in order to help our fighting men and women gain an edge over our new foe.

First invasion of Klendathu

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

Operation Bughouse, the first large scale offensive against the Bugs on their home planet of Klendathu. The Operation involved landing K-9 and Mobile infantry units on the surface to secure and hold a beachhead to help sustain the assault, however the invasion failed completely as units were overwhelmed by the defensive bug forces, and were not able to secure any landing zones. The K-9 unit's neodogs blew themselves up against the enemy out of sheer shock, leaving the Mobile Infantry without any support. Casualties mounted within the hour and for every thousand bugs they killed, one Infantry man dies - A net win for the bugs - the situation was getting desperate.

The General in command sounded the retreat, while holding his own unit back to support the retreating forces, needless to say, the General 'bought it' that day. Casualties were heavy, it was enough for the Terran Command to reconsider their strategy going forward as the bugs have put them on the back foot for the rest of the war.

You and many others volunteer to fight this new threat, gruelingly trained and armed to the teeth, from our mysterious Intelligence divisions, our powerful navy, all the way to the hard-working Mobile Infantry who fight for all mankind. They're doing their part, are you? Join up and do your part! Become a citizen of the federation today.

THE ROLE-PLAY SETTING

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

You and the rest of the group will be playing as part of the Mobile Infantry in a squad from the company of Erik's Eagles, a fan made company similar to that in the book or the movies as Rasczack's Roughnecks aboard the transport corvette, TFCT Magsaysay, in honor of the book's main protagonist Juan 'Johnny' Rico who was (in the book) Filipino, he suggested at the end of the book, that there should be a ship named after Magsaysay.

We will be playing as Cap Troopers, meaning we get to drop out of ships like paratroopers. This will be for those who've read the book, watched the films, and have seen the animated series, I had envisioned this to be a combination of some elements from each, using the book as a heavy basis.

What this means is that the bugs will be intelligent, capable of making some kind of advanced technology and using a variety of strategies in order to win, whilst still taking prisoners of war, using swarm tactics, and the capability to interrogate prisoners and take their knowledge through psychic means, either through persuasion or force, rather than sucking out their brains. (Which I'm pretty sure doesn't work biologically speaking)

The skinnies will be in this too, an ally to the Federation after tense negotiations. Unlike in the Animated series they would have been persuaded by the Terran Federation to break ties with the bugs, rather than the bugs forcibly taking control of them.

The Terran Federation will be using the fleet, and there will be more than one kind of ship for the Terran Federation to engage with the Bugs Fleet. In the book there were no indication on how the bugs fought the Federation in space; all that is known is that the bugs used missile weaponry for their navy and could go toe-to-toe with Federation ships, as they were able to plaster Buenos Aires with what is believed to be a long range plasma weapon.

As in the films we will be using them as a basis for the Bug's heavy artillery and what their vehicles would look like and function; as such the bugs could have giant mechanized versions of the Tanker or the Plasma bug, and their explosives like the Bombardier beetle could be an anti-personnel grenade flung from one of these mechs or perhaps the bug warriors themselves, hoppers and Kamikazes can be replaced with bug aircraft that shoot beam weapons.

(Note that the mechanization is intended for their vehicles and weapons platforms, they are not gigantic suits of armor that will cover a giant bug.)

Many of the worlds from the animated series will be featured, and some of the campaigns will really test how creative we can get with the given material, but as much as possible I want to be able to reach the second invasion of Klendathu. The role-play perspective will be that of one squad in a platoon of Erik's Eagle company, which is one in fifty squads of an entire company, being part of the first platoon, first section, led by Erik himself, through the most grueling war in human history.

THE CHARACTERS AND THE SUITS

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

Since we don't know what the regular section composition is, I have had to take a few guesses, this is roughly -what I think- will be the regular composition of a squad.

-Two Command Suits
-Lieutenant Erik
-Sergeant
-Five Marauder Suits
-PSC to Corporal
-Three Scout Suits
-PFC to Corporal

The suits look like Steel gorillas, they enhance many things from strength, jumps, and spacial awareness.
They come with an array of communications devices that can switch channels by using the mouth to bite down on a button to switch frequencies, for example, bite down once for channel A, twice for B, and so on. The suits function much like a hopper, with many specialized pressure sensors on the inside, allowing the suit to move like you move, they also have thrusters allowing for air mobility and speed. This had its benefits such as ease of use, you don't have to learn a completely new set of maneuvers or controls, It's basically a full suit body armor, but the armor is like a second skin that moves with you and augments your strength.

To fully prepare a suit for use out of storage would take 26 hours, at most; fitting it to the person meant to use it would take additional time, so some troopers have learned to keep a few spare suits hot, taking them out of their cold state.

The weapons for the suits can range from conventional slug throwers all the way to mini-nukes launched from a Y-rack. Marauders would be equipped with weapons, from heavy machine guns, to rocket launchers, scouts and command suits get the same amount of weaponry, the scout suits have less communication equipment than the Command suits, which have the ability to communicate across all sections and platoons in the company where all other suits get only three frequencies to communicate with; the command suits can also monitor everyone's vital signs, allowing for the Squad Leader to account for all living troopers in his area, vital signs can also be monitored by pressing a button on the belt buckle of the suits.

The troopers also have a various arsenal of grenades, one engineered to smoke out bug holes with bio and chemical gasses, another just for the regular explosives, they also have listening equipment so that when they make camp, they can listen to the bugs digging under them to let them prepare.

The suits have the ability to jump long distances, depending on the gravitational constant of the planet, it could also be akin to flying, as the distances you can jump like this can span whole football fields.

Only a few things are standard for every trooper, a flamer and a combat knife, useful for close combat as you don't have to aim much in such tight quarters, the troopers can also go hand to hand in their suits, they are resistant to radiation, chemicals, and bio-weapon agents.

Now take note, that for each campaign and mission we will be switching loadouts from time to time, We could be bringing peewees (Term for mini-nukes) or high powered explosives to seal off bug holes, or grenade launchers, etc.

Without further ado here is the CS, however, keep in mind I am looking for people who will be active with their posts and will inform the group if he or she will be away over a significant period of time so that I or the player in question can quietly write him or her out for a while for continuity's sake. I expect you to tell us if your post is delayed or if you're waiting for someone in particular to post, if you can't do this simple thing DO NOT JOIN THIS RP or I WILL be forced to remove you, I don't want that hassle. In addition, I also expect at least or more than three paragraphs of text, unless situation demands less.

Another rule is that I can and will auto hit a few of you using the bugs to catch out unlucky souls, I will not intend to kill you off, but it will injure your character and it will force everyone else to have carrying actions in order to save you, how you act in those situations will also determine how other characters will see you, NO TROOPER LEFT BEHIND is a rule in the Mobile infantry, that applies to even the dead, unless the situation proves too daunting to risk saving a dead man. Otherwise, if you're the type who likes making new characters, you can ask me to get you shot or RP yourself getting shot, I like a little bit of Drama in the RP, so plus points on you if you can make that happen.

Final rule is that all bugs are fair game, but when we meet the bigger machines that the bugs make, we will have to do some actual RP Combat, that means no auto-hitting the big bugs or I will give consequences that may cause your Character to 'buy it'. There are exceptions to this, such as having a nuke, but then there are times where we can't use a nuke, when in that situation refer to this rule.

If you're good with all that, then by all means fill up the CS, and again I stress this fact. DO NOT DO IT IF YOU CAN'T COMMIT, that is all.

If you have any suggestions or questions PM me or post down bellow, Don't worry, I don't bite.

Would you like to know more?

I'm gonna make this look prettier when I get all the stuff I need. And I'm still assuming Lasers are allowed with a yield roughly similar to that of a main capital ship weapon for its upper limits? Just making doubley sure so when I get to tech I won't be hindered by "I wonder if this is too much..." -> Literally me worrying about the tiniest details.

EDIT: Also yes, I'm really getting into this, cause I've been dying for fleet combat and politics again.
