Once upon a time, I used to cheer for May the 4th... now I cry with disappointment. *Except Clone Wars S7 and the Mandalorian - they are awesome*
Fun Fact: For my Republic Star Destroyer, I almost went with a custom Venator-Class that is not seen in the Star Wars mythos, but decided it would be a little OP and being perhaps the largest ship in the RP (at 2100 meters, slightly longer than The Liberator - almost twice as long as a Venator). It's called the Chancellor-Class Star Destroyer, which is basically the biggest Capital Ship in the Republic's Arsenal) - below is a sheet of it along with other Republic Ships (Chancellor Class is at the very bottom).
Built-In Heavy Beam Weapon - (Currently Undergoing Repairs)
Complement:
(78) V-Wing Starfighters
(30) ARC-170 Starfighters
(26) LAAT Gunships
(24) BARC Speeder Bikes
(12) AT-RT Walkers
(4) AT-AP Walkers
(1) HAVw A6 Juggernaut - (Slightly Damaged)
(1) Clone Trooper Legion
(1) Jedi
(1) Eta-2 Actis-Class Interceptor
History of the Ship:
The Endeavor is a Venator-Class Star Destroyer that was completed in 21 BBY (Before Battle of Yavin). It is the personal flagship of Admiral Karloff, but slightly shared by Jedi General Vell shortly after the Jedi Master was assigned to his personal clone legion. It had engaged in various battles during the Clone Wars, including the First Battle of Ryloth, the Battle of Bothawui, the First Battle of Felucia, the Battle of Corvus VI, and other space skirmishes against the vile Separatist Droid Army. Nearing the end of the Clone Wars, roughly two weeks before the Battle of Coruscant, the Endeavor along with a few other Venators and Acclamators were sent far into the Outer Rim to engage a Separatist space station. It was reported that they were making an unknown military device and they were tasked in destroying it along with the entire station.
Turned out this 'military device' was some sort of giant hyperspace portal, one large enough to fit an entire fleet in. Unknown to the Republic, this portal was to take the Separatist fleet into the Deep Core, in which they were to meet up with thousands of other enemy ships and strike at Coruscant. The battle was ultimately fierce and both sides had suffered heavy losses, but the Republic was able to breakthrough with the help of Vell's reckless tactics... at least for awhile. Soon enough, the Separatists brought in reinforcements and caught the Republic Fleet off-guard. A Providence-Class Cruiser was able to take down the Venator's Hyper Beam located near the center of the ship, but not before it too was destroyed by it. Trapped between the incoming fleet and the portal that laid in front of them, Vell had little choice but to enter the portal and see where it would take them. Perhaps he could see where the enemy was going next and after report back to the Republic once they reach friendly lines.
Yet due to undetected damage and strain in the hyperdrive, the Venator warped out into unknown space and now without any contact to the Republic, Vell and his forces have to survive until they can figure out their next move.
Advantages/Disadvantages +Size more than 1km +FTL Transport - (Class 1.0 Hyperdrive) -Low Resources -Personnel shortages -Minor System Malfunction - (Notably in the Heavy Beam Weapon and Hyperdrive)
Born on the planet Coruscant, Sias Vell commands the Venator-Class Star Destroyer, Endeavor. Prior to the Clone Wars, Vell lived a rather normal life as a middle-class citizen. When he and his parents discovered his force-sensitivity, they brought him to the steps of the Jedi Temple so he could be trained. Now a seasoned warrior, Vell joins the war as a valiant and highly-respected jedi general amongst his troops of the 64th Legion. While he'll do anything to win the battle, he's been known to occasionally initiate high-risk and high-reward tactics to assure victory, even in the darkest of circumstances. While most of his antics have achieved victory, the ship's admiral keeps a very close eye on him to make sure he doesn't go too far off the deep end.
A stern but highly skilled strategist, Admiral Kardoff is an experienced naval commander and excellent in helping out his jedi general, Master Vell. Born and trainedon the planet Corellia, he initially lead a small local security fleet to guard the planet's south face from any incoming hostilities. He was later placed as an admiral's assistant during the years leading up to the Clone Wars and eventually found himself commanding his own fleet upon the Endeavor. He always puts the needs of his troops first and makes sure that each and every soldier will get out alive. Kardoff occasionally argues with his jedi general and does scold him for most of his dareless antics on the battlefield, but he does highly respect him to the end.
CC-4560, later known as "Terra", was a clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett created on Kamino for the Grand Army of the Republic. He leads the 64th legion as an absolutely loyal and dependable soldier to the Republic, especially to his jedi general, Master Vell. While he encourages to be utterly ruthless at the enemy at hand, he also knows the time when to fall back and regroup. Now in a place with no connections to the Republic, he faces one of the toughest situations that very few Clone Commanders have found themselves in. His training is now going to be put to the ultimate test.

Admiral's Rival: Admiral Karloff and Jedi General Vell
Crew jumpiness from 1-10: 5 - With no contact with the Republic and not even remotely sure where they are, the crew are making sure they can find their way back to friendly space.
@Lmpkio The AT-TE Walkers might prove a bit too OP for what the stargate universe has to offer in regards to ground combat. It'd be preferable if the numbers were reduced to a single slightly damaged one, with the rest destroyed or out of commission. Other than that you're also good to go for the Character section.
Fair enough. I'll do that.
Edit: I actually edited the AT-TE Walker to be a HAVw A6 Juggernaut Tank, for I think it'll be better for on the ground and that its much more manuverable and useful then the AT-TE. It too is also slightly damaged.
Ok so screw my original idea with a simple transport vessel. So unoriginal for doing this - although I considered doing a custom space battleship that resonates from Spaceship Yamato, but alas its not that day. May make it one day but certainly not now:

I believe both of your profiles are fine! Both have interesting powers, abilities, and backstories, as well as having reasonable flaws to balance them out.
You're approved from me - however wait for the GM to check them out and approve them before posting them in the CS.
Isn't your profile pic from the Netflix Godzilla trilogy :V
And you are quite correct :D
May or may not have mentioned to you in the past, but yes, it is (precisely from the poster of the second part coming out Friday in Japan).
Now their tech is pretty advanced - they have a 1000 meter long Aratrum immigration ship, which by the time of the first movie, was severely low on rations and all that after fleeing from a kaiju-infested Earth. They also have landing ships which can carry tanks, hoverbikes, exosuits, etc, as well as many passengers while only piloted by 3 crew members.
The landing craft do not have any form of weapons on their own and so, when they encounter a giant 300 meter tall Godzilla raising up from the ground after the humans killed off his "son" (This has "time travel" in the form that when they come back to earth through hyperspace, they arrive to an Earth 20,000 years into the future - but thats not important), it utterly destroys most if not all of the transport ships and everything inside them.
I can possibly have a crew survive Godzilla's wrath (and maybe take some retconning abilities) to have a ship or two survive and get mysteriously pulled into the Stargate universe. Most of the main cast will be there, but at the cost of their ships being on low fuel, supplies, and so forth, (but will have onboard weapons)
@Lmpkio I had no idea that God of War was so damn well-acted!
1) I've claimed Emperor Palpatine. An Emperor Palpatine? Whichever. Please don't use Palpatine. Beyond him, I'd rather players weren't in league with the enemy, at least not yet. It's open world, but games like this tend to fall apart a bit when you split the party.
2) OC's are absolutely welcome!
3) Don't break the game, and try not to make other players redundant. I put some general guidelines in "How to Apply: 0. A note on power balance"; best practice: if you feel like something might be overpowered, balance it out with a disadvantage.
In a past life, I participated in a similar RP that died because someone started arguing vehemently against the feasibility of transforming mechs vs role-specialized fighters. It's not a winnable argument from either position. Anyway, to avoid a repeat of that debacle, I'm going to say, ahead of time, mechs are jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none. Can a mech mount missiles and also attach itself to something to use a giant sword? Yes. Will the mech carry as many missiles of the same caliber when compared to a dedicated missile fighter? No.
TL;DR: sure, mechs can be a thing, but they won't be as good at any individual task as a dedicated fighter
Indeed!
1). Fair enough. I had no plans to use Palpatine, for I figured you had complete control of him. I played around with the idea of Vader or other generals/admirals, but again I would be stretching things too far. Really I was looking in the direction of a small Star Destroyer (Victory Class maybe) or even something smaller like an Immobilizer Interdictor-Class SD or something of that caliber. But I can wait until there are openings.
2). Cool! While not 100% that I'll use an OC design, it's a possiblity.
3). Yeah I saw the Strengths and weaknesses part, I'll be sure to keep it in mind.
Also fair regarding the mechs.
But overall, I'm eying a Star Wars Faction that's not the Galactic Empire, but at the same time eying something more original and/or part of a new series. I'll wait a bit before I post something, just to see the ideas being thrown around. Then I can go from there.
One of the things Im thinking on doing revolves around my profile picture. Won't say much, it's in a sci-fi genre, and while the tech can definitely agree to this environment, at the same time the series is so new that I may either have to slightly retcon things that weren't present in the actual movie series or what not. Again, we shall see what comes up and then I can make up that decision.
I have a few other RPs currently under my belt, but hot damn does this look interesting! I know little about the Stargate Universe (outside of a Mr. Teal'c having relevance regarding a certain God of War), but I have other expertise in other Sci-Fi universes...
And Star Wars happens to be one of them.
This leads me to having a few questions before I can consider getting started:
1). Could players be in control with the enemy? I see that the Galactic Empire is in effect and I'd love to play someone of that caliber. If not at this time, I wouldn't mind to wait.
2). Could OCs be a thing? If for example I can't figure out a good ship/universe to use regarding any of the universes, could a made up ship and crew suffice?
3). Any limits to characters/ships? And just to add on it, can flying mechs be a thing? Say Gundam and that sort? I have a possible idea that I'd like to do and it may possibly only work if it's a thing.
