Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 12-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing.

I've been writing and roleplaying in Dutch and English since 2002. I joined the RolePlayer Guild in 2014 and since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

There are times I don't have much creative energy and will be silent for a while, but in the very least I will try to keep the writing contests going.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. Genuinly, I sometimes need reminders that you are waiting for a reply. I don't ghost on purpose, I promise. Time is just a weird thing sometimes, and if something happened 3 days ago, 3 weeks ago or 3 months ago can feel pretty much the same and I often don't realize how much time passed since my last reply. And if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab there is a good chance I might forget I was supposed to reply because I lost the visual reminder T_T

"I can deal with five more minutes," Benjamin said cheerfully and he looked to Steph. "Right?"
While he did his best not to show it, or let it be heard in his voice, he was worried about Steph and the five minutes felt like five minutes too long. He wanted to talk with her, in private, rather sooner than later. The way she sat and avoided eye-contact, it wasn't good. He glanced to Harriet, either she hadn't noticed it, or she had and didn't commented on it, either way it was probably for the best.

He looked outside, watching the familiar fence that enclosed the land of the organisation. He wasn't sure how he would do it, but he wanted to make Steph smile again.

Back from vacation
Mabel followed the Honchkrow as it dove into the treetops and followed him to the same trees. She noticed the light between her hands, but didn't give it much attention. Not losing sight of their target was her top priority. "Ixia!" she shouted in the hopes the Umbrechu would hear her.
When the Murkrow population emerged her wings started to glow as she readied a wing-attack. "Whenever you're ready," she said.

Mindy made her way to the entrance of the store and waited outside for a moment so Gavin could catch up with her, before she went in the direction of the other store. "At least it's good weather, isn't it?" she said. "I bet Mabel is having a great time bathing in the sun, she loves doing that."
She noticed a Mime Jr. standing on the street and she glanced around to see if the owner was around. A Pokémon like this was rarely alone.

"Normal," Michael said. "None of my Pokémon have a real advantage over it, but they don't have a disadvantage either, so I suppose it will go well." He glanced down to his Poochyena. "As long as that one will be as energetic there as she is here."
"I was bitten!" Bear exclaimed. "I am defeated!" He sank to his knees. "Goodbye cruel world."
"I don't know who can be more melodramatic, you or Andy," Benny commented as he flew over him.
"Oh, come on, Andy could never do that one better than me!" Bear said as he jumped back up.

"Look, there it is," Andy said as he pointed to a building on the other side of the road. From the outside it didn't look like a special building, but that didn't matter. He had no idea what his Furret and Spiritomb had been discussing, but that didn't matter. They got along well together and that was all that mattered.
He crossed the street and held the door open for Kim before entering it himself. "Let's see where they keep their archive of newspapers here," he said as he looked around. "Or a computer where they have a digital one."

"I don't understand that," Benjamin said. "You were allowed to leave confinement, so they should start your therapies again. Are they still afraid of you?" It didn't seem professional they would just ignore Ray like that, but he thought he'd give them the benefit of the doubt: maybe the current sessions were full and they had to wait for an opening before she could join in a group session.

He continued walking to his room with Ray, he too looked back to see if the spirits were still there. His eyes rested on Ari for a moment, after which he faced forward again. He would be lying if he'd say he wasn't nervous, Ari was supposed to be the dangerous spirit and he would be close to her for a while. At least Dia was there. And Ray of course.

Marc gently put a hand on her shoulder. "It's okay," he said, taking his hand away again. "I know a good place for a drink, it's not far from here." He looked around in the hall, most were done and leaving. "I'm going to help Carol to the common room and give her a nice window seat. We'll talk later." He gave a short wave and walked to the catatonic patient to help her out of her seat.
"Steph..." Benjamin began and he let out a small sigh, but showed a smile too. "I wouldn't suggest it if I didn't want to."
Why was she so negative all of the sudden? Benjamin tried to understand what had happened, but he decided that it was best to just ask when they were alone instead of starting to assume things that probably weren't correct.

He turned his attention to Harriet when she asked him if things were okay. "Yeah, no problems here," he assured her. "Although I have to say I'll be glad when we're back so I can move my legs freely again. Cars are great for getting somewhere fast, but sitting still is not my thing. It doesn't help I'm tall and I usually need a bit more legroom to really be comfortable than what most cars are designed for."

This is a vacation period, so maybe that is why there was a low level of participation. The other writing contest also had 3 entries.

But I enjoyed the theme, thanks for hosting it.

I'm working on the feedback, but since I'm also behind with my RP's due to the vacation it's going slowly.
Alternatively, I have some other ideas here
I will work on writing some feedback this weekend, I was on vacation and didn't get a chance to do that yet.
I was on vacation and couldn't write any feedback. I did read the entries and because there is a voting deadline here I'm going to place my vote for the Buckriders now. I will add in some feedback later and I will also go into more detail why the other entries didn't get my vote. I can say that the original approach of the story by alternating letters and the actual story was a nice touch and I enjoyed that.
When Ray was with him, Benjamin continued to his room. He had seen the spirits were talking to each other, but he was certain they'd follow Ray. Most of the time they stayed close to her after all. And it was the point that Ari would be there, so he did stay for a moment to see if she would join them.
Of course the pause made one of the staff notice him and approached him. "Benjamin, about the group session today."
"Yes, I'm sorry, I forgot," Benjamin said. "I lost track of time, it won't happen again."
"I will see you tomorrow then. Be on time."
Benjamin managed to show a smile and nodded. "I will."
He waited for her to be a little distance away before he turned to Ray. "That went well, didn't it?"

After Benjamin and Ray had left, Marc turned to Sara. "When the next shift arrived I can go home," he said, "Shall we have that drink straight after work?" If he could he would have left earlier, but he had been called in because they were understaffed, so he had to wait for the people of the next shift to arrive.
He stayed with the medicine cart as he looked at Sara, he didn't see a reason why he would postpone the date if she had her permission now.
