Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 12-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing.

I've been writing and roleplaying in Dutch and English since 2002. I joined the RolePlayer Guild in 2014 and since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

There are times I don't have much creative energy and will be silent for a while, but in the very least I will try to keep the writing contests going.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. Genuinly, I sometimes need reminders that you are waiting for a reply. I don't ghost on purpose, I promise. Time is just a weird thing sometimes, and if something happened 3 days ago, 3 weeks ago or 3 months ago can feel pretty much the same and I often don't realize how much time passed since my last reply. And if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab there is a good chance I might forget I was supposed to reply because I lost the visual reminder T_T

"Then I will await the information regarding Daz," mr. Johnson decided. "Anything else?"
He made a mental note of Harriet having a partner, that was something to look into, but he had a perfect plan for that: he'd just ask Benjamin about that. If he judged him right, and he thought he did, then Benjamin wouldn't mind talking about new friends he had met.

Benjamin wrapped his arms around Steph when she pressed her head against his chest and put his chin on her head. "And I love you," he said. He held her for a moment longer and then released her and stepped back. "I could be mistaking," he said with a playful smile. "But you look happier than you did before."
That was an understatement, but he was glad he had been able to make her smile again.
Henri looked at the trainer in front of him and nodded. "This way," he said, gesturing to the glass door on the other side of the room and he led the way. "Coming, Nido?" he asked as he walked away and a Nidorino appeared from the corridor too, he nodded a greeting to the Absol and followed his leader. Henri opened the doors for them and stepped into the arena. The arena was circular, a stone path circled around a sandpit, leading to two opposite rectangles at the edge of the sandpit with a Poké Ball painted on them.

"How many Pokémon will you be battling with?" Henri asked as he took place at one of the trainer area's. "We can battle with a minimum of one and a maximum of three Pokémon. All types are allowed in this gym, but not in the league."

The Marowak had followed them inside too and stood near the door, watching the trainers in silence. The Nidorino sat next to him.
"She won't stay stuck here if you can help us," Benjamin said. At this point he wasn't looking at the other two spirits, he had no idea what they were doing, but that didn't matter. He was talking to Ari now. "Just make sure she won't be put in confinement again. And when she is free from this place and you still wish to move on, maybe we can find a way to make that happen." He smiled at her. "What do you think?"

Okay, he had to admit he had the wrong idea about Ari. Right now it seemed she a tormented soul, driven by revenge, who had some troubles adjusting and was probably a bit quick to lash out. First wandering after being slain, unable to find peace, then being imprisoned in a body that wasn't even hers, he could imagine it hadn't been easy for her.
Yeah, Andy is flirting now XD

And I just remembered from the anime that the gym leader is a bit of a scatterbrain, so her being late in her own gym is a likely scenario.
"They don't always have the answers," Mabel said. "Even the brightest professors can still be amazed by our capabilities. At the same time, Humans often surpass my expectations too. What they lack in strength they make up for resilience and determination. They are able to bring up the best in even the weakest Pokémon, it's amazing. I think even Arceus could learn a thing or two from those physically weak creatures."

"I am!" Penalopy said in human tongue.
But Mindy had her eyes on Gavin. "I've been around Pokémon enough to know how their language works. Either Mewtwo was kind enough to teach you the language, or..." She looked at what she first had thought was a belt. "Your 'belt' is sagging and the tip is loose," she informed him.
"Oehhh," Penalopy sang. "Busted~"
"Miss Penalopy, you're not helping Gavin..." James sighed.

Michael looked at the Fletchling, who nodded as well. He watched the building ahead, it almost looked like a Poké Ball, with the white base and the curved red roof. He went straight to the door, actually feeling nervous about what they were going to do. Maybe he wasn't cut out to be a competitive trainer, but he did want to try this gym.
But the door was locked. Maybe she was late...

"Let's do that," Saruya agreed. They others could take care of things by themselves, she had no doubt. Especially with two old Pokémon with them. As she understood it, Benny was around for quite some time, but she had heard from her mother that Pokémon who got taken care off by humans often lived longer, depending on how the human cared for their Pokémon.
She started walking, ignoring the humans that looked at them. Seeing two Arcanine without trainers, one of them with an odd colour, would surely attract attention. "Let's leave the city," she said, crouching down slightly so she could leave in a burst of speed. "I'll race you to the edge."

Andy grinned. "Not gonna lie, if you had looked like this back then, I would have stayed longer in your territory. But maybe we can catch up over a drink-" He got smacked by Kims tail. "I mean, I do have some things I need to do now, but afterwards perhaps."
"Seriously," Kim muttered. "If I don't look after him..."
Mr. Johnson narrowed his eyes at the explanation of Daz. If this Daz guy was for those monsters and aliens and against humans, he was an enemy. But it seemed he was an adversary for Harriet too, which meant they could work together to get rid of this potential thread. But not before he could talk with Daz about these gems, which meant he had to put a 'capture alive' notice on the mission.
"Okay. It seems like we either have to find Daz so he can't use people anymore." Or waste any of those gems, but it was best not to say that out loud. "Or we try to find the gems before he does. Tell me, what do you think will be the easiest path?"

It surprised Benjamin Steph grabbed him, but the moment their lips touched he returned the kiss and wrapped his arms around her to pull her in.
After a moment he pulled back just a little so he could look at her, showing a smile. "That... was better than I expected," he said, cupping a hand around her cheek and moving in for a second kiss.
He had thought about what it would be like to kiss with Steph and it had exceeded his expectation. That was great and he didn't want to let her go and end this.
Benjamin watched the clenched hands and noticed Ray's body trembled. He stood up to do what he hadn't dreamt of doing: he sat down next to her and put a hand over her clenched fist and looked straight at her. It seemed like she needed it, and even though a part of him was worried this would backfire and make her aggressive, he wouldn't just let her sit by herself when she felt like that. "It must have been hard," he said to Ari, although he saw Ray's face. "Do you still want to move on? Because if that is what you want I will try to help you."

The Marowak nodded to the trainer and marched to the door on the side, pushing it open and marching into the dark corridor. The distant sound of the Marowak talking to someone could be heard and soon footsteps echoed through the corridor. A man emerged and locked eyes with the trainer with his Absol.
"Welcome to the gym," he said, spreading his arms. "I'm Henri. How can I help you?"
Mr Johnson nodded as he listed to Harriet. A gem used. This could be interesting after all. "The full story please, I want to know all the details. What happened? Do you know where this person found the gem?" He leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms, and keeping his attention on his alien agent. The presence of ghosts in that building had become irrelevant. And to be honest, his agency had better things to do than hunting down possible ghosts, but unfortunately it was one of the tasks.

Benjamin rubbed the back of his neck, had she honestly not understood that? Although, she was blushing, maybe she had understood. He took one step forward. "I mean," he said calmly, with a happy spark in his eyes, "that if you won't mind, I would like to kiss you. If you'd rather have we are just friends I can do that, but if you're willing..." he stepped closer to her once more, he could grab her and pull her in right now, but he wanted to give her the chance to say if she wanted or didn't want it.
"I'm glad for you," Mabel said with a smile on her snout. "Don't overdo it though, it takes time to build up endurance for long flights. Most flying Pokémon start with wings, but Blaze and I both learned that even though we evolve with all the muscles needed for flight, we couldn't fly long distances from the first day."

"Just travelling~" Penalopy said, almost singing the words and she jumped up, landing lightfooted on Gavin's head a moment later. "Why do you make it sound like its a bad thing?" she asked, tapping his head with her hand. "And when will you introduce your ladyfriend to me? Hmmm?"
Mindy frowned as she looked at Gavin, that was a strange language. It almost sounded like... Pokémon?

"When the gym leader accepts our challenge," Michael said to Sparky. "We're almost there and then we can see if the gym leader is available for a battle. I can't promise when exactly we can battle."
He was proud that Missy had stopped and remembered why she shouldn't pick a fight with Bear. He seemed to be in a good mood now, so they had to try and keep it that way.
Up ahead he saw a building that was different from the rest. "That should be it," he said, pointing to it.

Andy looked at the image of a majestic blue bird around Frosiien. "Right," he said. "Well, that was some years ago, I'm surprised you still remember." He grinned. "Although I understand it is hard to forget someone as awesome as me." The grin that had formed during the boast turned into a modest smile. "But thanks again for helping me that day."
He recalled waking up in the cave, surrounded by Jynx. And when he left the next day he had seen Articuno outside. He was fairly sure he had thanked her for her help and even took a picture of her, but she had left pretty quickly. He examined the woman in front of him, he had always considered Articuno a majestic bird, but in this form she looked even better.
