Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 12-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing.

I've been writing and roleplaying in Dutch and English since 2002. I joined the RolePlayer Guild in 2014 and since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

There are times I don't have much creative energy and will be silent for a while, but in the very least I will try to keep the writing contests going.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. Genuinly, I sometimes need reminders that you are waiting for a reply. I don't ghost on purpose, I promise. Time is just a weird thing sometimes, and if something happened 3 days ago, 3 weeks ago or 3 months ago can feel pretty much the same and I often don't realize how much time passed since my last reply. And if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab there is a good chance I might forget I was supposed to reply because I lost the visual reminder T_T

Where is Harriet now?
Benjamin waited until the nurse had left. "That is why I'm here, I see things no-one else can. Ghosts, shadow creatures. I've always been able to see them. This is why I also believe Simon really did have auditory verbal hallucinations because I never saw anything talk to him." He pondered the remark about Ray for a moment. "Maybe Ray is only attuned to her own spirits, which enables her to see and hear them, but not other spirits. Not that I'm expert, but that would be my guess."
There is less than a day left for voting, but the results look pretty decisive so far.

Thank you to everyone who voted so far and we'll see if there are any surprises during the last hours of the voting period.

Welcome to the Voting and Feedback round for TDAC#4!

Voting and Feedback guidelines
  • Once you had a look at all entries you can vote for your favourite work of art, as long as it’s not based on whether or not you like the artist.
It would be nice if you could share why you voted for a specific work.
  • Giving feedback is optional. When giving feedback you should be respectful and constructive. It’s good to point out what you didn’t like, but don’t be mean.
Make sure to point out what you liked or what worked well too.
  • Contestant may and are encouraged to vote and/or give feedback as long as they don’t vote for their own entry. If contestants wish to withhold a vote and only give feedback, that is good too.
  • The entries are anonymous unless the artist asked for having their name added. That being said, artists may claim their work at any time during or after the voting period.
  • The entry with the most votes will win, but in case of a tie a Contest Mod will cast the tie-breaker vote.
  • You can vote for entries and post your feedback in this thread, but if you rather have your vote and/or feedback be anonymous you can PM it to @Calle.
  • The voting period deadline is May 26th, 9:00 CET, which is 7:00 server time (both times are in a.m.).

The Entries

Prompt: purple.

"I would like you to meet someone," Michael said as he gestured to the Pokémon behind him. "This is Eros. He tries to stay out of sight a bit, but he wanted to meet you."
Lytse looked at the strange Pokémon behind Michael and then scuttled around Michael's legs so he was behind them too. "Hello," he greeted the Pokémon. "Who did you come to this party with?". It had to be one of the guardians, right?

Bear watched the poison jab hit the ground next to him. "Nice," he said, "but have I shown you this? He used Focus Energy while taking on a bodybuilder pose. His body got outlined with a blueish light as he did.
While he focussed his energy, he thought about what move he would do next.

The lapras expressed her gratitude to Volcano and happily swam around when she was lowered into the water.
Sea listened to his brother's praise and smiled slightly. "Couldn't have done it without you," he said. "We did it together."
He noticed how happy the Lapras looked and was pleased about it, but his attention was drawn to movement to the side. It wasn't a big surprise to see Manaphy approach them now the pool was here.

Mindy sat down at the stool and smiled politely. "Thank you," she said, but before she continued she looked at her Lapras and smiled. That was kind of the legendaries to do that for her.
"So, you are originals, never replaced. Does that mean the others have been?"

"We're fine," Nethan assured Gavin. "We don't always agree, but we are brothers." He looked around to see where they were and once he spotted them he gestured to get their attention. "How are you and Niccia getting along?" he asked in return.

Ilios waited for Acreus to finish his sentence and followed his gaze to see what had distracted him. The human? Or that Pokémon behind him? He frowned. While it looked familiar, it also didn't look like a Pokémon he had seen before. Was it from another region? The Pokémon he knew best were the ones that lived in the same region as his, so he didn't dare to guess where that Pokémon was from. Regardless, it seemed to have caught their father's attention, and he wasn't sure that was a good thing.

Andy turned to Frosiien. "Now that is a story I want to hear." There were different reasons why that could have happened: maybe Mitch had startled her, or maybe she didn't want a guardian, or maybe Mitch had shown some bad manners - after being on the receiving end of many glares he didn't think that was unlikely. Or could it be something else? He'd love to hear about it. "And then I can tell you how I had to run from Bear when I first met him," he added with a laugh.

This contest is now closed for new entries.

I will create the voting and feedback thread today.
5 more days before the deadline!
Benjamin watched the dark aura and the shadow around Sara and narrowed his eyes. Then the voice, a faint hiss, barely audible, but he heard it.
"Shut it," he growled. "Leave her alone."

Then he turned to Sara and reached out to take her hand. "Listen, Sara. Society has rejected to believe in what can't be observed or measured objectively and tought that to their children, so in their eyes we are crazy for seeing and hearing things that aren't there. And that is a doctrine that is really, really hard to break free from. But, a person is tangible and so is the paperwork around them. Simon died, but Marc won't believe I saw his spirit. So we will just emphasize how strange it is he just left without saying goodbye and that others left suddenly as well. And that we just want some piece of mind about them. If he's kind enough he might check where they went and if he will notice they aren't where they are supposed to be he might get suspicious too and then we have an ally who can look things up. That's why we need to bring in Marc, even if he sees us as patients."

"I didn't have a chance to read them through yet," Lily said, "but I did get information. Nothing of the sorts will happen here; I wouldn't want you to wreck this place."
She clapped her hands together. "Well, then, I will leave you all to yourself. And if you need more to eat, just contact someone through the speaker. The water dispencer is over there in case you are thirstly, and if you will make a shopping list of snacks I'll make sure the cabinet here is filled with things you like, as well as bread and condiments for the morning and the evening, so you can eat when you want. A hot meal will be provided from the kitchen at noon." Then she turned to Gaia. "And we'll make sure you will get some animals. How many do you need every day?"
