Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 12-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing.

I've been writing and roleplaying in Dutch and English since 2002. I joined the RolePlayer Guild in 2014 and since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

There are times I don't have much creative energy and will be silent for a while, but in the very least I will try to keep the writing contests going.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. Genuinly, I sometimes need reminders that you are waiting for a reply. I don't ghost on purpose, I promise. Time is just a weird thing sometimes, and if something happened 3 days ago, 3 weeks ago or 3 months ago can feel pretty much the same and I often don't realize how much time passed since my last reply. And if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab there is a good chance I might forget I was supposed to reply because I lost the visual reminder T_T

Ghosting is a real part of roleplaying, and if there is no communication that says "hey, I don't like this RP anymore" I prefer to see it as an indefinite paused RP rather than a dead one. If someone doesn't like the RP anymore it would be nice to get a head's up, but I understand that usually doesn't happen for reasons.

I had a good RP going where my partner posted once a month. The posts were worth the wait, and in the meantime, I did some other RP's or wrote fiction for myself. She stopped visiting the website we RPed on years ago, but if she were to come back today and asked to continue where we were, I'd happily do that.

I myself am a "once a week" kind of RPer (although I have been slower, but I try not to be) and I make sure my partner is aware of this before we start, to avoid disappointment.

The way I cope with setting up plots that get ghosted: I write them as fiction for myself.
I suppose we can split up, dropping it off doesn't need the full party and Fenna would also like to get rid of it as soon as possible.
Anyone want to go with Fenna to drop off the cube, or are we going to wait for the morning to do that?
There were lots of things he wanted to say, but Mike kept his mouth shut. Now was a bad time to start an argument, especially with a being like April, but the comment of the devil being angry about something her demons had been doing to humans as well was not taken kindly. It was obvious April was holding back some anger and it was probably showing he was doing the same thing, but for politeness' sake, he'd let it slide for now.

"Tea please," Benjamin said. "And cappuccino?" he asked, looking towards Mike, who confirmed with a nod of his head. Benjamin rubbed his hands together. "And I actually would like something to eat, if that's okay," he added. "I don't know what you have, but something with eggs would be wonderful. And maybe, once we have our drinks, we can discuss the names you don't want to mention yet because right now I have no idea what you two are talking about."
Fenna listened as James explained what happened and offered the cube when requested. Once Lucy handed it back, she put it away again, out of sight. It turned out the Guildmaster didn't have the answers either. At the end there were two things to do: get more experience to go up a tier and find out what the Comm Messages were about, and go to the Academy to have the cube figured out.

It seemed Lucy was confident they could take a gold contract and Fenna listened as the debate started. A gold contract sounded dangerous, but Taurok was platinum. Zell was the first to argue for the gold contract, which was no surprise. Rushing into battle suited him. She smiled at his beer-joke; it would probably be a while before drinking either of those.

While the bar sounded tempting, she decided to stay for the discussion about contract and heard Mackensie and Lilliana out.

"Two silver contracts will undoubtedly be safer," she said, deciding it was time to chime in with her thoughts, "but the Guildmaster also said that could take weeks to complete. Whatever is happening here, we may not have weeks. That water ninja has not been defeated." She frowned as she thought back to the Mazy Hillocks. "We faced a platinum-tier enemy and we weren't winning, but keep in mind we first fought that pack of wolves with the two big ones that had special abilities, then that water Ninja came and kicked our already tired asses, so we entered the fight against Aurok fatigued and injured. When we battled Aurok, we weren't fighting at full force either, because that damned ninja was still there as well and our party was split up. All things considering, we did reasonably well and I'm confident we could face a gold contract if we can work together on it."

"I've just started to travel myself," Michael said. "I haven't seen much of the world yet, but I do want to see more. There is a lot to see out there. And love to show you and Niccia where I live as well. If your father would agree, at least," he quickly added. The last thing he wanted was to anger Arceus or do anything against his wishes.

Netherly quietly wrapped his arm around Nygari's shoulders as he waited for Niccia and her human friends to wrap things up here. He wasn't in a hurry and he certainly didn't mind having Nygari with him. He watched Entei join them.
"I'm leaving."
"I'll come to visit when I wrapped up some business with the humans," Netherlu promised. "Did you spend sufficient time with that Arcanine, right?"
"I did," Entei assured him. "But I didn't want to steal her away from the other Arcanine too much." He turned to Michael. "Take good care of her."
"Of course," Michael said.
After that Tanter nodded to everyone as a farewell and turned to go walk towards the portal.

"I loved having that little one with me," Kim said, leaning into Frosiien's touch.
"I hope the lovely ladies and the not-so-lovely dudemon will excuse me for a moment," Andy said and walked away, to where Mindy was sitting so he could talk to her for a moment.
Leaning towards gold contract or leave and look for answers elsewhere (or take the contract and still look for answers elsewhere, why gamble everything on one horse?). The centaur was platinum, so it's unlikely we'll face something like that. I'm not sure how those two dire wolves would rank, but we did level up since we fought them.

Fenna is not there to casually spent weeks levelling up, she still believes she can go home somehow and will want to fastest way to do so. And the mysterious message seems rather important, she wouldn't want to wait weeks for that either. Leaving and looking elsewhere would also fit Fenna, as it's sensible to first find answers that won't get them potentially killed.

I can't post right now, but I think those are Fenna's preferred options.

Edit: also, we shouldn't decide this IC at the counter, but down at the bar. Fenna is down for a drink.
I am thinking about incorporating a point system in RPGC as well, but the one I used for the RP contest may not work. RPGC has always been about "here is the prompt, take it to the far regions of your imagination and show us what you did with it", and if I have themes that will earn points, people will try to get as many points as they can instead of writing that story.

So this month's RPGC is as we always did it, but I am keeping the points in mind and figure out how it would work for RPGC and other contests.

"Ethan is doing well, that's true. We talked with him this morning," Benjamin said and then turned to Jack as he introduced himself. Yellow eyes? What surprised him most was how that something like glowing yellow eyes didn't even surprise him anymore.

"A wedding?" Mike said. "Congratulations." He paused as he thought about the most polite way to voice any of his thoughts about a wedding in Hell. "Why are weddings currently on stand-by?" he asked.
Benjamin also looked at Jack when Mike asked the question, as he was curious about that as well. Hell had a negative association here and sending dangerous beings back to that place was one of his tasks, but now was not the time to be thinking about that.
