"A kobold, huh? I haven't seen many of you."

Ysran looked over to the robed man.

I don't think she'll try anything like that. From what I've heard, Kobolds are usually pretty smart about survival. I doubt she'd fight you, me, and your little undead horde."

Ysran knelt down to the kobold's height.

"So, what's someone like you doing out all on your lonesome? Did you get left behind? Or perhaps... you left them behind?"

Ysran then stood up and flipped his hair over to one side, revealing his large pointed ears.

"You guys can call me Ysran. What's your name little lady?"

Ysran tried his best to contain his excessive energy. After such a long and boring cart ride, he was finally able to do SOMETHING, even if that something was just a conversation.
Same here.
"If you two want to take first watch, then go ahead. Wake me or the others when you need to. Don't over exert yourselves. Getting to exausted may prove fatal in some way. As for your other questions, there are few answers I can give you. For where we are, I cannot say, why we are here, is also unknown to us, however the circles, I may be able to explain. Circles like that are usually used in rituals of sorts, so we were likely summoned here. The runes on them look a little familiar, but I don't quite recognize them. Perhaps if I spent some more time to examine them, I might be able to figure something out. Why we are all from different parts of the world may also be explainable. Because of where we're from, we all have different skills. Sasha has great physical strength. I have extensive intellect, you said you can hunt, giving you a survival advantage. But, unfortunately, I cannot say for certain. This is just my theory. But I hope that explains the current situation enough."

And with that, Ysran laid back on the ground next to the fire. He'd slept in worse places. Like that one time he got stuck on a chunk of rock on the middle of a river in Brazil. Heh, good times. The fire was definitely warm enough. He'd likely be fine.

"Well, I'm off to bed. If you have anymore questions, you should probably ask now."
I might be interested. Kind of reminds me of Call of Cthulhu. But with vampires. Except... There's vampires in Call of Cthulhu. But yeah, I'll probably join. What would a character sheet look like?
Ysran just makes friend with a shambling corpse first off.

Is Caractacus that unthreatening?

Ysran made friends with an Eldritch fish god. He has had an Eldritch abomination in its entirety present its true form to him, which would send normal people into raving madmen, and he communes with the Eldritch on a regular basis. Another thing that would drive people mad.

A zombie is probably one of the least threatening things he could think of.

And yes

The caravan ride seemed to last an eternity. Ysran did the best he could at being patient, and eventually went to his Breath of the Deep spellbook. Suddenly the caravan started gaining speed rapidly.

"You late for somethin'? Why are we going so fast all of the sudden?"

"Look! There's a huge smoke stack! Somebody might be In trouble."

"Fair enough. Let's go."

As the pace picked up, the smoke stack became closer and closer until eventually they made it.

"Stay here. I'll check it out." The driver gave a quick nod and Ysran hopped off the caravan. The town was in ruins. Buildings were reduced to rubble, there were scorch marks everywhere. Yet in the middle of it all, stood a figure, surrounded by more, shorter figures. Soon enough the smaller figures scattered, leaving only the taller central one. One of the figures began to almost limp in Ysran's direction. Upon closer inspection, this figure was a rotting corpse, shuffling towards him. Quickly unsheathing his sword, Ysran prepared for a fight. Yet oddly enough, the creature wasn't agressive towards him. It almost seemed... happy to see him. Ysran began to back away slowly as the creature closed in, eventually reaching him. As much as he wanted to cleave this zombie in half, he couldn't bring himself to do it. The creature was within arms reach of Ysran, and stuck out its arm. Reeling back for a strike, Ysran quickly realized that the undead man was simply grabbing the sleeve of his robe, and tugging towards him. Allowing himself to be moved by the creature, he was led to the one central figure. Upon closer inspection, this figure was a robed man, pale, and looked like he was desperately waiting for something.

"Hey, uh... is this yours?" he said, pointing to the undead man bringing him closer to the man.

I think the other two aren't joining. :(

So then, do we just start with the three of us? Or should we wait for somebody to stumble upon us?
"Well, should we take shifts? Or does one of us need to become nocturnal? I can stay up for quite a while, but even I have my limits. Keeping watch in shifts is likely our best bet."

He then remembered that they needed warmth as well, otherwise the cold may kill them off.

"Perhaps the one keeping a lookout could also tend to the fire. It would keep us warm enough during the night, so long as it's well kept. I do suppose that means that you'll have to find more wood as well. Luckily the log Horace brought will likely burn for quite some time, so we might not need to worry about it tonight. As for food, as long as we're near water, we could likely catch some fish, but with so many of us, we'll need more than that. And I doubt we'll be finding a constant supply of those little berries. So, what do you guys think? Any suggestions? I could take first shift."

Ysran was enjoying a rather nice nap, when a blow to the back of his head woke him up.

"Whoops, sorry about that!" A voice shouted towards him.

Ysran opened his eyes, but the bright daylight nearly blinded him. He was face up, sprawled a crossed the wooden bed of a caravan.

What? Who...? Ysran wasn't feeling to great.

"Finally awake are you? You've been asleep for almost a day now."

"Who are you? How did I get here?" Ysran struggled to get to his feet. What with the whole hungover feeling and the bumpy road they seemed to be on. Ysran did his best to remember what he was doing, but drew a blank. Last thing he remembered was trying to get through his Heal spellbook, and then feeling lightheaded.

"Well, you ran up to me in a panic, tossed me a bit a gold, and said something along the lines of 'Get me out of here as fast as possible'. I had my suspicions, but hey, money talks. You then set your stuff down and went out like a light. I tried waking you earlier, but you were really out. I almost thought you were dead! But, here you are now. Want off at the next city?"

His stuff?

Looking around him, he saw several books and his pack, filled with who knows what.

"Uh... yeah. I'll get off at the next stop. Let me know when we get there."

Ysran sat back down on side bench on the inside of the caravan. Looking through his pack, it seemed to be full of traveling supplies. How convenient. Looking at the books, he counted 6 in total. Two of which were the spells he was learning. The other four, however, were spells he already knew. He didn't even have these in his collection. Dismissing them, he put them into his pack. All that was left now was to wait until he got to the next city.
