Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

Robin Hood! I can't believe it I didn't get it before.
Thing was with the mecha, it was a huge target, not very mobile, and had limited weaponry. By keeping its attention constantly engaged and disarming it, we kept it from singling out and obliterating a target. A big Grimm is more likely to move around constantly, to be unpredictable, and generally more versatile.

So the mecha, while deadly and hard to damage effectively, wasn't hard to take down once we had a strategy going. This was almost exactly the case in the series when team RWBY took on Roman in the huge mech suit.
It was with muted pride that Abel watched Gren chamber his chainsaw and yank the box from the ruined wreck of the mecha. He flexed his shoulders and arms slightly in an attempt to easy some of the strain put upon him by hoisted and tossing the machine's arm. With the battle done, the adrenaline rush fueling his feats of strength died away too, leaving him sore and tired but pleased. Of course, he didn't waste any effort smiling about it.

As the orc fiddled with the box, trying to find the best grip to pull it open, Abel glanced over his teammates. If Gren was any worse for wear, he weathered it extremely well. The guardian couldn't spot a scratch on his heavy armor anywhere. Bridgett, meanwhile, looked terrible; her slender frame seemed suffused with exhaustion and dulled pain. Though Abel knew her aura would sustain her until proper first-aid could be given. Finally, Kuhaku -though battered or bruised- appeared to be in better shape. At the moment he was talking to Bridgett, and as Abel watched, he held his hands near her body and shared a serene, sky-blue glow with her. He looked away, leaning against the Ampere and thinking. Most kids' first-day surprises were pop quizzes, but Abel and co. had been lucky enough to get a giant killer robot. He sighed deeply, wondering if all exercises at Beacon would be this deadly.

Just then, the aforementioned tiger faunus called him over. Abel sauntered over leisurely, crouched by the others, and illuminated up the Ampere's crystal to provide a little light. He joined his might to the others, helping pull open the metal lockbox. A pop, followed by a hiss, declared that the seal had given way. Each hand plunged into the dark container in turn, returning with a small rectangle At first Abel guessed they were notecards of some sort, but when his azure sheen fell upon them the right way, they were revealed to be playing cards: an ace, a king, a queen, and a jack, all of clubs. Abel stared at his jack card, squinting to make out details on the little caricature's face. "...Neat." he commented in a wry tone after a moment of appraisal.

The mortality rate of this rp is really high. Here I thought the last one was bad. Only like, 3 people died in that one.

Luckily everyone who's staying is making it really worth it.

In terms of IC, prepare to be amazed! I hope nobody will object that I factored in Gren's efforts into this tag-team assault as well, as well as a little RWBY-esque physics.
With a momentous crash, the titan fell. Abel backed away hastily to avoid its collapsing mass, and turned his face away to avoid the spray of dust and stone shards kicked up by its impact with the floor. It didn't take long for the airborne debris to settle, but in that moment, both Gren and Kuhaku had gone to work. The armored one's chainsaw revved like a monstrous motorcycle before it was unleashed on the metal husk. Abel's eardrums were assaulted as the shriek of ripping metal reverberated through the tunnel, surpassed only by the maniacal laugh of the man who caused it.

After quickly overcoming his alarm at having such a lunatic as a teammate, Abel went to work. He circled around the feebly struggling mecha until he opposite Gren's vicious attack. As he did so, he noticed Kuhaku standing on top of it, apparently having yanked his blade from the robot's abdomen. By combining his shield and his sword, the Faunus created a large axe that Abel didn't need better lighting to know was impressive. By the time the guardian was in position, Kuhaku had already begun whaling on the mecha's upper chest, clearly targeting its neck.

One of the machine's arms began to rise, using its own elbow as support to combat its lack of friction. The arm moved steadily toward the oblivious Kuhaku on its torso with the intent of shoving him off. Abel leaned forward and poked the mecha's joint with the Ampere's tip, causing it to lose its precious balance and fall back to the ground again. Abel took the opportunity to target a cable poking out from between two armor plates on the mecha's bicep. On the second try he severed it, and the arm twitched before slumped down onto the ground. Next, he worked his way toward the shoulder. Upon finding a groove between two segments, he inserted the Ampere's blade before throwing his whole body weight across it. The leverage proved enough to tear loose whatever screws or rivets were holding the thing in place and let it clatter against the floor. Once he had righted himself, Abel busied himself with wrecking the upper arm's inner workings, trying to phase out the demonic laughter and steady sundering of the robot's waist.

In no time, the job was done. The robot's right arm wouldn't be moving again. A deep shriek from Abel's own right announced that the mecha's head had departed its body. Abel added to the din by reading his Ampere and then slicing downward in an overhead arc with every ounce of his might. His weapon's blade bulldozed through the right arm's joint, crushing what it didn't cut, and severing the limb.

“Big guy!” Abel glanced up where the ripping noise had come from a moment ago and found Kuhaku grinning down at him. He could barely hear the Faunus over the cacophony that was Gren. “I have an idea! Use those muscles and toss that arm into the air!”
Two auburn eyebrows shot up. “What's the point of that?”
“Just do it!”
The Ampere clanged against the piece of armor plating it had dislodged. Abel crouched and put his arms beneath the detached limb, getting a feel for its weight. For a being without aura, this hunk of metal would be insurmountable, but not for he. The guardian grit his teeth and lifted, making a strained, throaty gargling noise--Rgggggghhhhh! Once the limb was a few inches off the ground, he paused and inhaled, his eyes screwed closed. In the background, the roar of the Destroyer ground to a halt as Gren stopped it to yank it free. The mecha murmured, and moved slightly. Abel's eyes flashed open, a brilliant azure blue in the poor light, veins bulged on his forehead, and he bodily threw the limb into the air.

Following the flying arm was Kuhaku. Employing his remarkable speed, Kuhaku flashed past it, arriving at the top of his arc just before the limb did. The Faunus snarled and kicked off the metal powerfully. With a eerie serenity the limb hung in the air for a moment before returning to earth at high speed, slamming into the mecha's battered chest and obliterating the armor there. The force of the impact, combined with Gren's sustained assault, was enough to part torso from waist, rendering the machine helpless. Kuhaku landed a few dozen feet away from the robot, shouting “Bridgett! Kill its heart!”
I had not considered that. I'll remove it for now.
Shall I return the tag-team favor, harine?
Abel nodded twice. “Yeah, sure. Let's head there now.” He gave a short, stiff wave to Pan and Mary. “We'll see you guys later then.” Pan waved back as Abel turned around despite being separated from him by only a dozen feet. Mary chirped, “Bye!” before heading off in slightly different direction. Struggling to keep up with the tall Faunus, Pan hurried after here. His shadow remained, watching Gwyn for a second more, and then pivoted in midair to follow its owner.

A strand of trees blocked the direct route to the pillars, but with victory so close, Abel wasn't in the mood for detours. Wielding the Ampere with gusto, he did not hesitate to carve a path through the copse by hacking apart any branches foolish enough to have grown in his path. He paused several times, either waiting for his partner to catch up or make sure she wasn't within slicing range, but they made speedy progress nonetheless.

By the time they arrived at the structure, it was already brimming with people. The volume of those present -six, to be exact- surprised him; he hadn't imagined that nearly every participant would arrive at the same time. That was either very convenient or very unlucky, depending on what would happen next. A girl's voice reached him from the group, “"I can speak for myself! And yes, that's my name." As he approached, Abel couldn't shake the suspicion that it was all too easy.

After ascending the short climb to the dias that held the artifacts, he was quick to identify Nevin and Aurelia. “Hello!” He said, putting a little too much enthusiasm in the greeting. To compensate for it, he quickly followed up. “Funny how you two got together. I met Gwyn here instead.” He held a gloved hand in her direction, as if she needed to be pointed out; her striking white hair and attire made her stand out automatically. Expecting Gwyn and the others to get introduced, he stepped back to surrender the conversation to them, and his gaze fell upon the special stones places upon the pedestals. Without any sort of consideration, he plucked the nearest one -a smooth, black obsidian shard- from its resting place and held it at eye level to inspect it.
Since we're not interacting with the npcs I mentioned, I don't think I'm dishonoring your request, but I can get rid of the last paragraph if you like.
