Personal Skills

Ever the Showman
Rank: B
The legacy Fawkes left behind framed him in such a light that he was an intangible force of anarchy. Fawkes has the gift of showmanship and misdirection. With a bit of flourish and sleight of hand, Fawkes could smuggle a live cow through central London without clothes and no one would be the wiser. Only the keenest eyes (that of Archers for example or heroic spirits renowned for their general perception) can see through his little flourishes of misdirection.

Kingsbane
Rank: B
Fawkes’ name became synonymous with anarchy and his face a symbol of revolution, a bane to any calling themselves king until there were no more kings. Against any Servants that sat upon a throne during their lifetime become entirely blind to Fawkes’ tricks and traps.

Purest Anarchy
Rank A
Fawkes’ image was and has been a symbol of anarchy for the modern world, all know the Fawkes mask and what it represents. As such the favored weapon of the anarchist, explosives, have a special kick when Fawkes uses them. Fawkes can detonate his explosives while in spirit form and Servants caught in his explosions don’t take any real damage but receive a - debuff to Endurance. (His flashbangs, grenades, and lockbox explosives are what he uses to achieve this skill’s result.)

Noble Phantasms:

Masques of Smoke and Flame
Rank: EX
Type: Anti-Unit (Self)
Range: N/A
Number of Targets: N/A
Fawkes left a legacy behind him after his death that echoes within the hearts of revolutionists and anarchists the world over, inspiring a day where hated figures were burned as effigies; the Masques of Smoke and Flame are a reflection of this legacy. With these masks he can swap between his Personas, Figment of Fire and Figment of Ash. Both offer him the precious blessing of anonymity, concealing his identity entirely from even the keenest eye. The Masques are fragile; should they be destroyed he loses access to the aforementioned persona’s, his identity is laid bare, and his Stats are all dropped to E-. He does not start out with this Phantasm ready to use, but must be summoned with considerable magic.

(This NP comes in three forms)

Figment of Ash
When donning his Masque of Smoke Fawkes becomes as his legacy styled him from what he was, mere smokescreen. When moving through any sort of smoke, Fawkes becomes incorporeal, untouchable and untraceable. When in the grips of this skill Fawkes appears as a vivacious woman, a vixen wielding a silk fan and silver dagger. It comes with a drawback as his Strength and Endurance suffer a debuff of - - -.

2. Figment of Fire
Fawkes’ Masque of Flame is a representation of what he was in the eyes of Kings and Saints in the centuries following his execution, the spark of anarchy, the raging fire that consumes . When donning his Masque of Flame, Fawkes appears as a tall, imposing man wielding a cane of clockwork and various instruments of destruction within the confines of his suit jacket. He cannot help but be seen, acting as the flash for his other Persona’s slash. When he is the Figment of Fire Fawkes Agility and Luck take a debuff of - - -.

3. Mere Man
The world seemed forget that Fawkes was a mere man with horrible luck, when the Masques of Smoke and Flame are destroyed he becomes what he truly is, a mere man. He has no power when revealed as such. All his stats are brought to E- and he loses the ability to use his Noble Phantasms. His name then becomes known to all who see his face.

Remember, Remember the 5th of November
Rank: B+
Type: Anti-Team
Range: 1- 75
Number of Targets: N/A
The world will never forget the failed plot that saw Fawkes hanging from the end of a rope, and this Phantasm ensures no one in the Grail War can forget either. With a huge burst of Mana, Fawkes activates a time bomb, within 2 minutes it detonates and anyone caught in the 75 meter explosion suffer minimal (if any) damage but has their Endurance and Agility stats reduced by - - - for the span of an hour. The explosion also covers the ten meter epicenter in a thick haze of smoke.

Silver Lining
Rank C+
Type: Anti-Unit
Range: 1
Number of Targets: 1
There was always a silver lining to any situation, Fawkes was to be executed by drawing and quartering but instead broke his own neck by tripping on the gallows, saving himself from a rather grisly death. Activated only when he is the Figment of Ash, Fawkes summons a fine knife made of silvery glass. This elegant knife ignores armor and protective spells, causes thin, painful cuts that weep blood when its not carving up a mortal wound. It is really fragile and would shatter when used to block any incoming blows from other swords.

Equipment and Weapons: Flashbangs, explosive lockboxes, grenades, and fire-bombs when the Figment of Fire. Smoke pellets, a silk fan and a silver dagger when the Figment of Ash. When revealed as a mere man he wields a simple steel cutlass. Masques of Smoke and Flame. Remember, Remember the 5th of November. Silver Lining.

Personality: Fawkes is eloquent, flamboyant, and polite, an enigma who waxes poetic every chance he gets and remains perfectly calm in the face of any danger, setback, or straight up loss. He is the type of person to smile fondly at his opponent upon the time of his death and congratulate them for their cunning and skill. He is ever complimenting his allies and enemies as well. While he will not bow to kings and their authority he still treats them with respect as he believes anyone should be. While he is in fact a heroic spirit (something that baffles him to no end) Fawkes still believes himself nothing more than a man, flesh and blood, and is as such irritatingly humble.

Backstory: He had been part of a conspiracy to blow up Parliament, a plot that had failed, and was the one found guarding the dynamite that would have done the job. Fawkes’ story really begins on the day of his capture, those last days he spent among the living, reconciling over what he had been apart of. Fawkes became beside himself when he realised the implications, the carnage he would have wrought. It was this deep sorrow and regret that moved his lips to speak true, not the whips and chains of his captors. It did not change his mind on the tyranny gripping England, how it needed to be stopped, and wished more than anything to fix his mistake. Fawkes realises that it was not smoke and flame that changes history, but words and the will to speak them. Thus is his wish, to bring about change with words, not war.

Appearance: Fawkes appears before his Master when summoned a Mere Man. Average height with reddish blonde shoulder length hair, a flowing mustache and beard, wearing a plain white shirt, brown pants, and a fur lined cape, and steel cutlass at his side. He will then summon his Masques of Smoke and Flame. His gender becomes transmutable when he is under the power of his Masques of Smoke and Flame. When he is the Figment of Fire he is a tall, imposing man in all a white suit of the time period he came for with a flambount cape of finest crimson cloth, the mask covers his full face with a pair of slits for eye holes and is the4 same white as his suit and decorated with stylized fire streaking across it. When he is the Figment of Ash Fawkes appears as a vivacious woman in a black, strapless evening gown accented with a dark gray cloak and hood. Her mask covers only her eyes and smoke billows around the edges.

Weaknesses: Fawkes is a swift acrobat but has no real fighting ability of his own, relying exclusively on his bombs, misdirection, sleight of hand, and the cover of smoke to win the day. He relies on his Masques of Smoke and Flame to swap between the personas his legacy has crafted, should they be destroyed he will be revealed for what he is, a mere man and his Stats are dropped to E-.

@Reflection
You know what I'd be interesting in joining this.
@LuckyBlackCat
Good luck reasoning with a psycho. What's her wish anyway?
@Ammokkx

I feel ya. Can't wait for our characters to meet. Honestly really looking forward to any character interaction.

Also kinda going for Anya to be a big bad.
@Ammokkx

Its sorta great. Grim as all hell! Kinda based my character off the lore of that world. Oh well, this can still be hella fun. Would you like ot be the first to take Anya up on her offer for battle?
@Ammokkx

Thought this was inspired by that really grim magical girls anime. Feels like it. My bad if that's not the case.
Anya found the no killing rule annoying, insulting even. Where was the thrill form a chance at being killed, or the rush of adrenaline when you spilled your opponent's blood. She tapped away at her phone.

[smaugslittlemonster] Kinda makes the whole no killing rule all redundant. One lucky or unlucky shot can kill someone and that's all she wrote.

[smaugslittlemonster] So! Anyone ready to test their skills?

[smaugslittlemonster] I'll be waiting in the middle of Yoyogi-kōen Park if anyone wants to get this started.

@Raineh Daze
Considering the world this is pulled from, magical girls killing each other seems par for the course. Considering how utterly grim the actual source material can get (and people it gets damned grim), I could see bloody battle royal being right at home. Heck we could see it as a character study to how far our characters would go for a second wish. They chose to face ungodly, horrifying creatures for a wish, a path that can only end in their gruesome, often painful death. Maybe we could explore just how thin the difference between the Magical Girls and the monsters they face. That's what I plan on doing with my character.

@ACHTUNG

She is gonna be fun to fight with.
Whose ready for gruesome combat?
