I've been forum RPing for about 13 years; got started on lavendereyes.net, which was a Forgotten Realms/Drizzt Do'Urden fansite, before moving to the old roleplayerguild.com! I've also dabbled in RPing in a few MMO's like Champions Online, SWTOR, and WoW but forum adventures are definitely my preference. I like just about any kind of RP in high-casual and advanced, based on whatever mood I'm feeling (typically high-fantasy, sci-fi, and/or certain fandoms). I love writing and do think of RPing as a way to develop my character and scene writing skills, which basically means I'm always looking for realistic and fluid ways for my characters to learn, grow, and develop over the course of an adventure. I don't ship my characters but do occasionally allow them to fall into a relationship, if they are naturally guided in that direction.
You can take a look at some of my saved characters here, if it interests you.
I also have a deviantart page, though I hardly ever update it.
Thanks for reading! I'm always up for a good chat. -Loopy (aka. Lupus)
<Snipped quote by Kuro> I think this is where my confusion is centered. I read the bit underneath it, "If it wasn’t obvious by the laughing growls and barks she let out while attacking, she was having the time of her life," as Iris connecting with a good solid hit or two. And it doesn't quite ring true for me that if Miyuki left post-Iris transformation as seems to be written, she'd get to reception in time for Suzy to get there before Velvet took a hit.

I really hope it doesn't sound like I just want Velvet to get the shit beaten out of her lmao, it just doesn't really feel like it makes sense that all of these things could happen SO close together without any advance knowledge. The way I read it, Iris doesn't even really make much noise for Max to hear until she's already attacking Velvet, right? So it only makes sense that she'd strike prior.
I'm really really sorry for bothering you guys with this and forcing rewriting, I just don't really know how I'd write it actually happening since it feels like events seem to overlap.
For what it's worth: "You,” she roared as she clenched her muscles, the pupils in her eyes finally expanding as the shift began to course through her body. - this is what I was responding too most with Max's actions. Seeing as there are only 6 rooms per floor and it was specified as 'hallway' (of which I assume there is 1), doesn't seem like much of a stretch that Max and Achieng are like... RIGHT THERE.
EDIT: but also, I'm pretty used to this kind of wibbledy-whobedy timey whimey fluid action sequences from many previous RPs ive participated in with large casts. I just go with the flow, yo, so I'm fine running with however the poster before me interprests things. :)
@Dragonydas@Kuro@BunniesOfDoom@LupusIntus Okay, wait, I'm trying to figure out the order of events here. Miyuki left after Iris lunged at Velvet, not before. So wouldn't any assistance to the scene have only come after Iris had been in wolf mode for a while? As I'm writing the beginnings of a post out I'm starting to realize that the order of events doesn't make a ton of sense. Otherwise Max would've seen Miyuki, right?
I feel like we should iron this out now before things get more confused. Tl;dr, wouldn't Iris spend a little bit of time ripping and tearing at Velvet before anybody else can?
How I read it: Miyuki and Velvet walk into hall. Velvet gets chompy Iris walks in, transforms and is big mad. Miyuki nopes the fuck out Max hears Iris being big mad. Iris lunges to attack Max runs up and hucks a steak Iris becomes good doggo Thelia rushes in.
Happy to assume Max runs in after a few back and forth attacks by the wolf. Its loosey goosey, I’ll roll with whatever you write
EDIT: we were initially writing under the assumption the ‘1st floor’ included the front desk, which could gave been no more than 20ft away so it’s fine to go with what you think feels best, imho
Iris tailing behind with her tail wagging like a happy puppy! "Where we going?"
Iris running happily alongside him like its a race, Max trips over her foot and steps on a sloomba, goes sliding down the hallway straight into Thelia knocking off her glasses, turns to stone before fall comes to a grinding halt against series of trashcans
I wonder if they hold a blood drive in the city every two or three months, with some of the blood coming to the condo? Might be easier than relying on old blood from hospitals and blood banks. Or if some enterprising witch has come up with a shelf-stable long life blood or blood substitute?
idk man, Velvet seems like the kinda person to really appreciate all-natural 'free range' food sources
Wondering if I should do a "Suzy murder mystery" arc in the future. 🤔
Once everyone has settled into the groove of how this RP plays I would love it if every character had their own little arc. I already have one for Max that DM’d to @dragonydas 😅
and we know that at least one particular employee is about to get turned to stone. We all know this.
