I'd say that we could pass by Route B as long as we don't get spotted. Both sides will be too busy fighting each other to even notice us.

Humanity has been living in their comfortable lifestyle in a world that has become overly dependent on technology. That's a problem. Bacterias and viruses are adapting to our antibiotics a lot faster than the scientists expected. United States of America and her allies knew that there was a possible that a deadlier outbreak was going to happen after the Ebola Outbreak. Hundreds of peoples were infected in America and thousands more in West Africa. The citizens were in panic mode as they quickly turned on their loved ones over little disputes. Then, the CDC developed a treatment for the virus and the citizens calmed down. Government officials were worried about a major outbreak hitting America. A presidential directive was quietly signed into law in response to this possibility. It maps out the government's response to a national crisis, like the Ebola Outbreak. It's known as Directive 18.

The US Military began several programs to look for signs in someone if they would inflected. Hospitals updated their equipment to combat against emergency capacity issues. And the CDC issued preparedness messages to watch for signs if they are inflected. It had been seven years since the Ebola Outbreak dominated televisions all over the world. It has faced several other outbreaks and epidemics during the years; but, the world knew what to do. What if the world was introduced to a different kind of virus? A virus that can get someone sick and kill them? What if they come back from the dead? The governments of the world don't know how to answer those questions other than to contain the situation.

In the city of Baltham, a business man that just returned for Central America hasn't been outside of his home since he came back about a day ago. Neighbors said that always see the man every morning, going over his friend's house across the street. His friend decided to call his friend, who is a police officer, and told him of the situation. They decided to go over together once the officer takes his usual lunch break to see their pal. This is where our story starts.

Baltham, Washington was founded two days after the state had become the 42nd state on November 11, 1889. The city is apart of the Bainbridge Island metropolitan area, which has a population of 130,000. Bainbridge Island has 304,000. The increased in population landed in the second largest city in Washington, beating Spokanea. Baltham was named the fourth-best place to live in the United States in 2020. Both cities are becoming an increasingly affluent bedroom community of Seattle, a 35-minute ride away on the Washington State Ferries. Tourists often found themselves spending time at the island and the city used that to make a profit. They spend more time at Baltham than Bainbridge Island.

Baltham is home to the headquarters of many small and large businesses, many of which are technology companies that started in the 1990s. The city has numerous thriving commercial districts, including one shopping center: Zemreaft Mall. It has one small hotel located in the middle of Baltham and Bainbridge called, Sweet Bay Hotel; Bainbridge has three hotels. Myriad development of major retail, residential, and revitalization projects are amidst planning, in construction, or have been successfully executed in both cities. The growth has resulted in the city council to start construction on a waterfront boardwalk and marina in the late 1990s. The boardwalk was just finished a couple months ago and it expends to both cities' coastlines. A waterfront multimodal bus/ferry terminal soon opened in 2002 and allowed people to travel to Settle in thirty-five minutes.

Both cities are continuing to grow still as more people moved away from small town to large cities. It's expected that in five years, Baltham will reach 200,000 and Bainbridge Island will hit 350,000. The cities also have set a high standard for other cities in America to follow in health and cleanliness. There are five different hospitals in the city and they are capable of handling any outbreak that happens. Bainbridge is currently the healthiest city in America, following by Baltham and Dallas.

In ISOLATE, the world has learned how deadly viruses can be if left alone. The United States of America combated it by reminding people of the possible risks of another 'Spanish Flu' or another 'Black Plague'. In secret, the president signed a presidential directive into law without the general public knowing. The directive, Directive 18, gives orders for the several government-run departments and the military on what they should do during an outbreak. The public doesn't know about this directive at all. The cities of Baltham and Bainbridge Island is where this new and deadly virus is going to get it's start. A businessman comes home after spending two weeks in Central America for work. He went into his home and hasn't been out for a day. This is where our new virus is going to play out.

There are two options that we can do: a non-zombified virus or a zombified virus.

Like in both The Division and Containment, the virus starts to spread as soon as his friends go to check their inflected friend. Since we are going to start in the first days of the outbreak, we will watch it spread to other parts of the cities and soon enough it could spread all over America. The civilians are going to face hardships and do things that they wouldn't normally do. Our characters will have to watch out for other humans as they are willing to do anything to feed themselves or their loved ones. Our characters are also going to change overtime as the government tries to combat against this deadly virus. Will they be successful? Or will the entire American government fall apart (That's the non-zombified virus option.)?

In REC, we get to see everyday civilians that live in an apartment deal with this virus that turns their neighbors into cannibals. No-one knows what zombies are, just like in The Walking Dead, and they don't know what to do at first. It would be a day or two until the Washington State government reacts to the outbreak and soon issues a state of emergency. Then, the US government will also react by sending aid and troops to the state and the cities affected by the virus. However, the hospitals will soon become filled with inflected people and things will turn for the worst. Our characters will react to the whole situation from the first day. They will be changed into a different person or try to stay the same. They have to watch out of the inflected and other humans or stop living (That's the zombified virus.).

If you like one of the options, then I suggest you to type which one you like the most and post it. The option that most people like will be the one that we are going to do and the introduction post will show that as well.

  • No metagaming, powergaming, godmodding, mary/gary-sueing or anything silly like that.
  • If you do something stupid, then expect consequences that could kill your character.
  • Since this is a modern day apocalyptic survival roleplay, realism is a must.
  • Romance is okay, but if it goes beyond a kiss take it to PM or off guild (Guild rules).
  • In interactions with large groups of people, if not using a collab, work a posting order out among yourselves so that you can all enjoy it and nobody gets left behind.
  • Don't make super long collabs.
  • Have fun. :>
  • More rules will be added depending on the option that we pick.

Besides the general interested check (which is this one), there are two other interested checks: Casual and Advanced. If the number of users (that are interested) is in a huge advancement than the other interested thread, then I will be posting the OOC in the other section. If there's an even number, then I will ask which one you're willing to do.

𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏?
Do you want to add something to Baltham & Bainbridge Island? Do you feel like there should be more to the plot? Should I lighten up the front? Well, you can suggest something about how to make ISOLATE a better roleplay. Just post it on the many interested checks or private message me and I will take a look at it. If the people feel like that would be a great addition, then I will add it and mention you! There are some ideas that I will reject and don't feel down about. You can still post suggestions to me at anytime without paying any fees! I am the kind of person that will consider your ideas and look into it, so feel free to share your ideas!
I was thinking of trying to take over Belgium and forming some sort of United Netherlands.
Still looking for people!
I have posted something. If you want to know what the Menedéket Café looks like, then here's a picture of it.

The tour of the Archive took only fifteen minutes to show the entire area. The tour only showed off the important areas of the Archive: library, storage, and headquarters. The library was the place where you would be able to grab any physical book and start reading them. Storage was where they stored all of the films, books, shows, and other recordings for Earth. And finally, the headquarters was where the staff spent most of their time. Overlooking data and keeping an eye on the list of people using one of the recordings.

Kevin, Madison, Augustyn, and the rest of the workers got to work. It wasn't a few minutes before the Admiral spoke once more. It was finally time for the Vitae to leave Earth and the rest of humanity behind. Kevin and the others listened as the Admiral said that the Rejuvenation had just left Earth and their ark was next. Madison went over towards the library to see if any of the books would fall off of their shelves. Augusty stayed behind in storage to see if there were any damages to some of the recordings. And Kevin went towards the headquarters to overlook and fix any damaged systems. The workers soon split up and followed one of the three.

Kevin checked on the live footage of the takeoff to fix any technological errors. It was really happening, they were leaving behind Earth. He went into his pocket and grabbed a small photo of his family and held it close to his heart. His wife and two sons were placed in the cryogenic vault and frozen in time. The footage showed their ark leaving the deserts of Africa and going up to the skies as Kevin put the photo back into his pocket and got back to checking out the live footage.

The post-takeoff Archives didn't have any problems besides a couple of books that had fallen off of their shelves and some system errors. Madison and her workers immediately put the books back on their shelves. Augustyn and Kevin fixed the errors and glitches at their systems. After almost an hour of fixing and clearing up, the Archives looked better than it ever did. The books were reorganized, the recordings were checked on, and the headquarters looked perfect. Kevin was still seeing if the live footage was still working.

Madison and Augustyn returned to the headquarters. “How's the footage?” Madison asked.

“The footage has been tagged and saved into the storage.” Kevin answered Madison's questions while working.

“Good.” she said, “Why don't we take a break and go the Hub?”

“You all can go, but I am staying behind.” he told Madison.

“Kevin...” she said in a serious tone.

“Oh, fine.” he finally accepted defeat as he stood up and shut off the computer. He followed the others to the Hub. Before they could leave, Kevin informed the nearest security station to keep an eye on the Archives. He trusted the guards to do their job and keep an eye for any wannabe thieves. He hoped that the Head of Security would respond to the request. Since they were below the Hub, it didn't take long before they were in it. The trio had been in the Hub before and already established their 'hangout'.

Menedéket Café was a popular small cafe that based on a regular cafe that you would see in Eastern Europe. The cafe was nearly filled as the trio made their way inside the cafe, The workers had split up and planned on doing their own thing. Kevin and Madison sat at the nearest table as it was Augustyn's turn to order. The trio would often only get their drinks and a quick snack before going back to work. Kevin would get coffee and a chocolate muffin, Madison would get some water and a small sandwich, and Augustyn would get some whisky and a bowl of peanuts. After a moment, Augustyn came back and sat down.

It was busy in Menedéket as people went inside for a quick bite and to watch the live footage of the take-off. Being inside the cafe felt like home to many people as it looked more like any cafe and bar in the major cities. The trio talked about their future aboard the ark.

Madison brought her fifty-six year old mother, her young sister, and her husband. Her father decided to stay back in Dallas, Texas to 'protect the citizens'. He was one of the officers in the Dallas Police Force that helped formed defenses around the city. Her mother said that 'he was stubborn to leave behind his job'. Madison agreed with her mother's word as she knew that he'd never leave Earth for any reason. Thankfully, he got his patrol dog with him. Augustyn was one of the people that couldn't bring someone. His mother and father had died a couple years due to natural causes. His brother was in the autism spectrum and the arks 'didn't provide the care that he regularly needed'. His aunt told that he was going to take care of his brother. Augustyn didn't mentioned if he was still alive or not, because he stopped talking about it as soon as the waiter came with their drinks and snacks.

Both Madison and Augustyn didn't truly know Kevin besides that he came with his family and worked as a history teacher. He didn't bothered telling them about his work as an ambassador with the Federation. But, he did tell them about his mother, father, and six siblings and how they were at the White House. The American president offered shelter to the citizens in this time of need before the Devastators destroyed everything in their path. It made Kevin sad as he thought of them. For the remaining lunch break, they just ate and made small talk. It helped make them forget about the invasion that was going to happen.

Kevin prayed that the Devastators just kill everyone quickly; but, he knew that it was pointless to pray that.
Doc is fine. And I don't also mind if y'all writing minor actions for my character.

Day 04 // A song that reminds you of something sad

And we'll go up, up, up
But I'll fly a little higher
Go up in the clouds because the view's a little nicer
Up here my dear
It won't be long now, it won't be long now

I don't really have a song that reminds me of something sad that happened, so I will add a song that makes me sad. I decided to go with Zach Sobiech's, Clouds. To me, this song is about moving on beyond life and accept death, even if it came too early. Plus, Sobiech's story is one of the saddest that I have ever heard. It doesn't make me cry, but I get sad when the song comes on. And I like the song as well.

Day 05 // A song that has a new meaning to you every time you hear it

And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry
I'll come back when you call me
No need to say goodbye

Man, I like this song because I often come up with different meanings when the song ends. The first time that I listened to this song, I thought that it was talking about lovers. Then, I listened to it again. I got that a soldier that was leaving for war. And now, I got several meanings from lovers to a teenager moving over of their parent's house. I don't know if I have an official meaning, but I might someday.
I understand why you think that gay pride parades aren't necessary. As a gay/questioning man (which I don't often say because I don't feel like that I should have to tell everyone that I am gay), I also think that pride parades aren't necessary and often too crazy for me. However, some people that go to the pride events is a chance to be themselves. To be away from their families and friends (if they are homophobia towards said person), to do whatever you want. That's why there are gay bars and other things that often only LGBT+ people go to.

Plus, America is so different from Europe. You get that as well. I just want to clear up why America was so behind same-sex marriage.

Back in the good old days of colonial America (before the America Revolution happened and European nations still looked for gold), many people that went to the New World were Protestant. During the time of the Protestant Reformation, the Pope became worried of them and the losing power of the Catholic Church. The Spanish Empire is the New World, mostly alone besides Portugal down in the south. Then, the Counter Reformation happens and the Pope begins to look at the New World as a chance to spread Catholic before any Protestant nation gains more of a foothold in the New World.

Then, the British came out of nowhere in the New World and managed to keep Jamestown alive (somehow). Their cash crop, tobacco, was doing so well that made more than gold for a bit. And then we have more British colonies forming from Maryland that established the Act Concerning Religion, giving both Catholics and Protestants the same rights. Puritanism was huge in New England (before it broke off into smaller pieces). The Puritans went to the New World in hopes that they would established "a city upon a hill" and basically speed up the Reform in England.

Massachusetts was formed in 1629. Roger Williams gave his criticisms about Puritans and was an early proponent of religious freedom and separation of church and state. He's ban for Massachusetts and decides to form his own colony, Rhode Island. Thomas Hooker soon leaves Massachusetts and established New Haven in 1636. Then New Haven and Hartford combined and became Connecticut, the first colony to established religious freedom.

As you can see, the New World was a filled with Protestants and other religions (that weren't Catholic) that escaped Europe. And you have Catholics who wanted controlled of the entire New World and wanted to spread their religion at the same time. I could even say that those events are the main reason why America is more religious than Europe in the modern day. Plus, there were more religious event that happened during the American Revolution and beyond that into the modern day. Same-sex marriage is an example of that.

It's becoming more accepted in the country, but I think that it will never be accepted by everyone--given America's background in religion and other things. I think that you know that Europe and America are totally different, but I just wanted to share my thoughts on it with historical events. I also agree that LGBT+ representation is low because 3.8% of adult in America are LGBT, while there are a high percentage of straight people. "Heterosexuality is the standard" as you said. I just want to live a normal, peaceful life without shoving my sexuality into peoples' faces. I hope that helps and if you have any questions, you can ask me. By the way, my source for all of this is my American History class that I am taking in college.
