Megumi frowned and daid "I should have done something...he wouldn't have had to do that..." Bane flinched and smiled weakly. "I'll be....fine....nothing I cant....handle...I had to protect you...Megumi...couldn't let those guys hurt our little flower....could we?" He gasped, fighting not to pass out. "I had to use...time traveler...it gave me...the speed and foresight....I needed...to protect..."

Megumi shook her head and said "He had more friends then we thought...Bane did some strange jitsu I've never seen before...it did something to his eyes..." Bane was panting now, his eyes still closed. He muttered "Get her out....of here, James...before they come back..." Megumi looked at James and said "What's wrong with him?"

Bane slowly got up, holding his wound. "Megumi...get behind me..." Megumi looked back as BAne's eyes glowed lime green and made a hand sign. "Ninja art...eye of the time traveler..." He suddenly vanished and reappeared behind the ninja. He moved faster then any ninja Megumi have ever seen, fighting them both at the same time, almost predicting their movements before they made them. After what seemed a life time, Bane dropped the last one and stumbled back, his legs shaking. Megumi ran to him and caught him just as the hooded ninja appeared. She looked up and said "No..." Then they both vanished in smoke, the ninja cursing. They appeared by James, Bane hitting the ground as Megumi landed on her knees, coughing. "Bane..." Bane was shaking bad, his eyes closed tightly.

The hooded ninja was gone, needing to get to the job at hand. He figured his creature would stall James. He hit his earmic and said "Where are you two? Do you have the target?" He heard a voice say "We have them cornered...just need to locate them in the dark..." He nodded and said "I'll get the trap ready then..." Megumi moved Bane to lean against a tree, Bane panting. "Dang it...it hurts like heck...Megumi we have to keep moving..." He looked up and said "Um...Meg? Your shadows..." She looked back and saw two ninja standing there, fire in both of their hands. She got up and stood in front of Bane. "Back off...don't make me do this...please..."

The ninja moved back a little and said "I think it's time I end this. My partners will have already moved onto your companion and the wolf by now..." He made a series of hand signs and said "earth style, demon of the earth jitsu" the ground exploded and a huge creature appeared, moving towards James. Bane was cursing in pain as Megumi removed the arrow, looking the wound over. She heard running towards them and she muttered "this is not good...we have to hide and fast..." She made a hand sign and muttered "shadow of the night" the shaodws around them became thick and dark, hiding them from view. "I'll hold it for as long as I can...but we need a plan and fast"

We better get back to the others" she got up, rubbing her neck. Yugi returned his card to his hand, nodding softly. He as glad to have the card back, his mind now in the game. He had a plan. He drew from his deck and said "I lay two cards face down and summon Queen's Knight in attack mode. And I summon Big Shield Gardna in defense mode. Your move" Adam nodded and took a few of the pills and drank from fhe glass. "Just a headache...I get them when others duel...and I can hear them...how's yugi doing?"

He stabbed into the ninja and the ground clone fell to pieces. "Your good, very good. I can see why your village asked you to protect her...but is it worth it? Really? What do you gain by protecting a monster like her?" Megumi turned to Bane, her eyes glowing silver. "He won't make it in time to reach the village gate, then he will be a sitting duck. I'm going back to help him" Bane shook his head and said "James will be fine, but we have to move. Who knows who else is..." Suddenly a arrow hit Bane in the shoulder, hard enough to send him backward. Megumi gasped and jumped forward to catch him. "Bane!"
