Serena smiled weakly at Chas an muttered "Thank you Chas...I'm glad you guys came for me...I'm sorry I couldn't...hold him off...longer..." She closed her eyes a moment, her shadows around her protectively making sure they weren't jumped again.

John saw she was worn out and he moved and picked her up into his arms, smiling at her. "Just take a break, Kay...I gotcha...just take a few breaths. It will get easier the more you use your skills. You did well today.." They made it back to the house and john opened the door with a wave of his hand.

John set Kay on the couch and said "Chas how is Serena?" When Chas asked her, Serena didn't answer.

Serena shook in his arms and said weakly “I’ll...try...it’s really hard...to stay awake...he tried to...drain me...I couldn’t....” she laid her head against his shoulder, her eyes fighting to stay open.
John was thinking over his last words and said “without knowing names I can’t be sure...but we will figure it out. And we saved the day, and ms Serena so that is what matters right now...” he turned to look at Chas and saw how messed up Serena was.

Serena was barely awake and shaking badly now. John rested a hand on her cheek and muttered “that was brave trying to hold him off on your own...that shoulder needs looking at as well...let’s go home. Kay? You alright?” He looked over at her, a little in awe from what he had seen her pull off in a short time.

When the flames hit the demon he hissed, dropping her to the ground as he turned to face the pair. Serena slid down the wall hit the ground, barely awake. She felt arms around her and opened her eyes weakly, seeing Chas. She smiled weakly and said "I...got her phone...in my bag..." She was shaking badly in his arms, her skin pale and cold.

John moved in front of her and said "Gotcha dirt bag" He waved his hand and a seal appeared around the demon. He clapped his hands and the seal flashed. "We banish you back to the realm you belong...with these words and holy flames..." He looked at Kay and said "Blast him with your flames now!"

The raven nodded and followed John out, flying ahead of them. John cursed and said "Guys come on! Its leaving without us!" He ran after the bird, hoping he wouldn't lose it. When they got to the alleyway they saw Serena and the demon. The demon seemed to be chanting something, a silver energy was flowing out of Serena and into the demon.

John cursed and said "Its draining her aura, we need to stop this now" He muttered a spell and a fire ball came to hand and he threw it at the demon, making it turn around and look at them. Serena was barely awake when she saw them. She grunted "No...guys...get out...of here..."

John smirked and said "We are both going. Serena saved our necks and we need to help her in return. Do we have any idea where she could have ended up?" He grabbed his jacket and headed for the door, a smirk on his face. "Time to walk on the dark side, folks.."

Serena was running again, ducking fire balls as she ended up in a dead end. She cursed, turning to face the demon behind her. She faced him and shadows gathered around her. "Okay...a face on fight then..." She sent her shadows after the demon, her shoulder looking nasty. The demon moved out of the way and was a lot faster then Serena. He hit her in the face and grabbed her neck, slamming her into the wall.

"Where is she?" Serena smirked and grunted "Your better off killing me...more likely to happen then me telling you anything..."

John smiled and said "Thanks, its been a while since I've slept that well." He got up and rolled his neck and asked "So what did I miss? Anything crazy..." Suddenly the door burst open and a shadow shot in, looking like a raven. It flapped and flew around the room, looking in a panic. John looked at Chas and said "What the heck?" Then he saw it wasn't making sound and he cursed.

"Serena...something must be wrong" Then Chas's phone buzzed and a text popped up.

I'm being tailed. I don't think I can shake them. Don't leave.

John looked at Chas and said "What's wrong?"

Serena was running hard, fire balls flying at her head as she ducked behind a dumpster. She cursed and said "How the heck did they find me?" She looked at her shoulder that was burned. She looked over and saw the man walking down the alleyway. "Now is he after me...or Kay?"

Serena smiled at Kay then headed to the door, nodding to Chas. “I won’t be long...if you get worried or anything comes to mind just call” she opened the door and she stepped out, the shadows wrapping around her and she vanished.

After a time there was a knock on the door. When Chas opened it, a few bags of supplies were there. A note on top was from Serena.

Ran out of room in my arms, so had my shadows bring what I had so far. I’m picking up a phone for Kay, then I should be back after I pick up my stuff from where I was staying

Suddenly John groaned, slowly sitting up and holding his head. “What the bloody happened...I feel like I was hit by a ticked off troll...Chas?” Then he saw Kay and he smiled softly “hello there...”

Serena paused and nodded, pulling his phone out and unlocking it. She handed it to him and said “not many contacts any more...but it works just fine” she pulled her jacket on and looked down at Kay and John. “Kay, I’m heading out for supplies and such, do you want me to pick you up anything?”

John seemed to be sleeping peacefully now, a rare feat when it came to the mage. Serena walked down the stairs and looked around for a pen and paper for Kay to right a list. The shadows moved and brought her both, Serena smiling at both and started writing. She looked up and said “Chas? Anything specific you wanted?”

John calmed at her tough, seeming to be able to relax again. It had been a long time since he had had this good of a sleep without nightmares invading bad enough that it would wake him in a cold sweat. Kay brought a calm he hadn’t felt in a very long time.

Serena nodded and said “I can handle the shopping. I’m not homeless like Kay was. I have been jumping all over the place...funds are not a problem for me...” she got up and closed the book, putting a marker in the page. “I’ll start working on some kind of trap when I get back...you stay and keep an eye on those two” she walked right by him, smiling softly. When he was close he would pick up an aura off of her, much like a alpha Wolof would have over their pack.

Serena looked up and shook her head. "Not yet...I'm on the right track I just haven't found it yet..." She paused and looked at him. "I can run out for supplies if you would rather keep an eye on John...he doesn't seem like the type to take it easy even if he should..." She paused at a page and tapped it. "This is it...crap" She turned the book to show Chas. "This is bad..."

John groaned in his sleep, his face twisting in pain.

Serena waited till Chas read the page and said "What do we do? Wait from them to hit or we go hit them with guns blazing?"
