Bane was running around securing sails and supplies, Iris working on the canons and weapons. Scarlet was packing the kitchen supplies and said to Amelia “we have to make sure if we have heavy waves that we will not have things falling out”

Avery was at the helm and trying to keep the ship steady. Bane made it to her and said “Captain you need to get to your captain” Avery shook her head and said “get everyone under deck. I’m guiding us thru the storm. The Strike and I will handle this...” Bane cursed and then nodded, heading to get the last of things handled.

Serena curled up under the blankets, looking like a child for a moment.

John smiled at Chas and said “don’t worry, we will be on our best behavior” he winked at Kay and went to grab books and started his reading again. He paused and looked at Kay “Kay...has Fee said anything about what link there is to Bane or Nyx?” He leaned back in his chair, looking at her.

Serena leaned against his chest and was out cold. She was light in his arms as he took her to bed.

John looked at her and said “we can get some sleep...I’m going to work a little on her if you want to crash on the couch. Chas needs to head home and I work better when someone is nearby so I don’t go into a work spiral...” he glanced at her, knowing the truth but giving her a way to keep it to herself and get what she needed.

John sighed and walked in at her cue. Serena looked confused as she said “Kay what are you talking about?” John rested a hand on her neck and said “she means for this...” he moved his hand in front of her face and his hand glowed, Serena’s eyes glowed the same blue color. “John...what...” John nodded to Chas to come in and stand behind her.

John looked into Serena’s eyes and said “relax...it’s going to be alright...you are pushing yourself too hard...your about to crash...let us help you...” she nodded weakly and swayed as the spell took hold. John watched her closely and said “Chas...she’s going to fall get ready to catch her...” m

Just as he said said Serena swayed again and fell to the side, her eyes closing.

Serena sat and listened to her story, understanding what she was getting at. She reached over and took her hand. “It’s not that I don’t want too...my whole
Life I have wanted to help people. I became a doctor so I could save lives...I lost my mother because an illness that couldn’t be even figured out...then came these powers. I can really help people from getting hurt in the first place. But I can’t stop now...we are getting answers to help you and make sure no one else is hurt because of those after you...and me now. I won’t let anyone die because of this...”

John looked at Chas and said “didn’t she say she had a boy friend? You don’t think...that anyone else is...” he cursed and said “it’s why she won’t sleep. Last time she did...she lost the love of her life...do I wait for Kay’s signal?”

John nodded and said “go talk to her, I’ll get the spell ready. It will take me a few minutes. If you can’t, just tell Chas and I’ll let it go” he moved to the work room to start making the spell.

Serena was pacing in the kitchen, rubbing her temples. Her head was pounding and she was saying softly “just push thru it...if my theory is right...I’m her protector now...I can’t let anything else happen to her...”

John glanced at Chas, his moral compass, to see what he thought of using magic on her. Serena waved her hand and turned and went to the kitchen to get the others off her back. John then said “she’s been fighting for so long...I get why she wants to stay awake. She doesn’t want to get caught off guard...poor love probably hasn’t had anyone watch her back since this all started...”

He looked at Chas again and said “if you think it’s okay I’ll do it...but I worry it would make things worse for her if we force it. But it’s your call”

John listened closely as the pair tried to convince her to rest but Serena shook her head weakly. “No...there’s too many questions that need answers...you guys deserve to rest more then me...you guys keep saving my neck...”

John frowned and said “you know it’s not your fault right? No need to punish yourself for anything that has happened...” he moved to face Serena and rested a finger on her nose. “You can’t keep going like this...you need peace...” he was trying to decide if he would have to use magic to get her to rest ans reset her mind and body.

Serena took the small device and shot it, taking in the medicine and then did it again to get a full dose. She sighed and her breathing calmed, her eyes heavy as she muttered “stop Bane...you can’t force me to rest...that’s not the deal...” she slowly sat up, looking at the others.

“I’m sorry...I am a mess...” then Kay heard thru a link Fee had with Bane she must sleep. She’s going to faint or pass out soon if she’s not forced. She won’t let me help her. She has suffered from the stress of these attacks alone for too long. She must rest and recover

Serena was trying to get to her feet, putting the inhaler in her pocket. “Let’s get back to work...I can take book duty...”

John nodded and turned Serena so she was on her side. He looked at Kay and said “can you grab one of the bags from the kitchen? She needs a bag to calm her breathing. I think her whole body is in shock. Her mind can’t snap out of the loop. We need to shock her enough to stop the freaking out”

Serena was fighting to breath, her vision blurring. She looked at Kay then motioned with her hand at her bag by the couch. Then she made a hand motion like a inhaler use.
