Trish walked in with Bane as Serena was laying everything on the coffee table. She looked up and said “Kay? You feeling alright? Your pale”

The door opened and as the boys walked in Trish ran over and gasped. “John what happened to you?” John was barely awake now as the pain doubled being moved. John was almost dead weight between them as Serena ran into the entry. “Get him on the couch. Let’s see what we have. Can you tell me what happened?”

Bane smiled and said “she is the best one for the job. She knows how to fix these kinds of injuries. Her time working in ERs has made her skills and in the know how how to help him”

Serena was looking for any tools she might need to help John, her mind focused on the task at hand.

John smiled weakly and said “I won’t last long…I’m barely staying awake at the moment…I think ribs are busted…a lung hit maybe…” he coughed again and blood hit his lips.

Bane looked up and said “John was jumped on the way back to here. His alive but from what I saw he might have internal bleeding of some sort. My lady, your skills will be needed. I wanted to get you ready before they got here”

Serena ran inside and said “I’ll need all the medical supplies we have here in the living room!” Bane looked at Kay and said “his alright. It will look worse then it truly is. No magic was used against him.” Trish walked over and took Kay’s hand.

John opened his eyes weakly and said “hard…breath…lung…” he coughed again and fought to keep his eyes open as he said “Chas…slow down mate or…we mate get into a wreck…”

Serena looked over and said “if he was in danger Bane would tell me. I sent him after the guys. It will be alright Kay. I know he can handle himself and the boys will take care of him…”

John suddenly coughed up blood and coughed hard, his breathing labored.

Serena pulled into the house to see Bane waiting for them at the door. “We need to get inside…Bane has that look…”

Serena helped Trish inside and got into the drivers seat, fuming. “If she weren’t Chas’s ex wife and mother of that sweet girl…I’d have thrown her thru a wall…” she put the car in drive and headed out of there, her hands shaking.

Bane nodded and bowed his head. “I’ll go back ahead and make sure the girls are secure. Safe travels” he vanished in the shadows just as John seemed to have trouble breathing clearly.

Serena looked ar Renee and said “now I get why demons have an easy time with humans…you lot make it easy…” she looked at the girls before her and said “Trish?” Trish was glaring st Renee and said “John saved my life and nearly died doing it…you don’t really know him…you just have a black heart. I’m not sure how you have a sweet daughter who is willing to be friends with a freak like me…must be all Chas…” she wiped her eyes and ran out the door.

Serena looked at the mother and asked “I think I’ll take the girls home…this isn’t helping them heal…and I’m going to keep from ripping you apart for Chas and your daughter sake…don’t ever go near them again…” she walked out, slamming the door shut. “Get in the car girls…”

John cursed and said “I thought I was fast enough…I didn’t want a fuss…” he was out of it, blood on his lips and from the number of pressure cuts he had. He suddenly fell to the side, blacking out as the gold light flashed.

Bane frowned as they vanished and picked up the paper. “Who was that?” He handed the paper to Chas. “You need to have a word with your ex…the girls are leaving the house…seems she opened her mouth to we two worse girls to mouth off about John…I can feel Serena trying to not blast something…”

Midnight shook her head and said “no, but while we work on the missing persons case, we need to keep the mission going. And that’s to find the needs of the people and fix what we can. So what do we think is our next best move?”

Scarlet looked into her tea cup and thought as Bane was making eggs.

Iris frowned and muttered “he needs more blood? Was Matias not enough…we need more blood but from where?” She rubbed her face.

Babe smirked and laid the French toast out as midnight used her shadows to pour coffee and she said “they will tell us when and if they want…no reason to push it. Now once Dante is recovering we need to get to work on the next phase which is strengthening the lower and middle levels. We need to learn what the needs are…”

Iris turned and saw them. She watched his hands and said “I am. Sorry I forgot to introduce myself last night…” she was shaking from the lack of sleep, watching Dante. “I don’t know what else to do…I’m not skilled with vampires…”

Bane nodded and said “what do bugs eat? Is he a bug under the armor?” Midnight shook her head and rubbed her temples, her cheeks still a little red. “They haven’t said…”

Bane started dishing out food and said “eggs will be up next…”

Iris was pacing next to Dante who still hadn’t woken. She looked stressed and on her last thread. She couldn’t figure out why he hadn’t woken up yet. “Come on Dante…what is going on??”

They looked up at him and Bane said “umm…ya, she is still working on him. She won’t stop. There’s a reason she’s good at her job but also crazy”

Midnight sighed and said “I’ll go check on him in a little while to make sure Iris doesn’t kill herself”
