Bane nodded and lifted her into his arms and said “I’m on it. Make sure Serena doesn’t push it. What she just did was more then I would have imagined pulling off” he took Kay upstairs and laid her in bed and pulled the blankets over her.

John took the paper and said “magic sealed…made so only I can read it…old school…”

Serena held her nose and said “I’m fine…I need to finish assessing John before going to make sure Kay is alright…” she moved to sit up but her head swam as she did. But she pushed it back and closed her eyes a moment.

Bane smirked and said “alright, how about I go send word on the wire to some old friends and see what I can dig up. That way we can stick together”

Midnight looked at him and asked “what do you mean my that?”

Iris smiled weakly and said “it’s alright, everyone has their grace period…and I’m really alright…I can’t leave my patients…” she rubbed her eyes, looking more worn then before.

John grunted and said “I’m sorry babe…I tried to shield you from this…you have been thru enough today…I’m such a moron…”

Serena sat back and said “thanks Chas…my hands are shaking too much now…I’ve never tried that before…”

Bane appeared behind Kay and caught her, wrapping his arms around her. “She lasted longer then I expected…” John tried to sit up and Serena said “no John. You’ll undo everything we just did. She’s alright.”

Trish looked at Serena and said “Serena your nose” Serena moved her hand and saw her nose was bleeding. “Dang it…”

John grunted in pain and his eyes fought to stay open. Serena was almost done and said “I’m almost done…just hang in there John…” Serena closed her eyes and then johns breathing changed.

His breath was even now and his eyes blinked a few times. Serena leaned back, breathing hard. “Now we stitch the wound closed…wrap it and then treat the bruising…” she looked like she was about to pass out.

John yelled as Chas pulled the piece out, his body tense and moving but luckily Josh held him down. Serena moved fast and started to repair the hole as fast but carefully as she could. “John you have to stop moving. Or it’s going to make this harder”

She was pale now with the focus and effort in her task. Trish moved over and said “hold on John…we have you…”

Midnight looked up and said “sorry, moving helps me think” bane grinned and said “why don’t I look into the raids with scarlet and find out the next hit. With Dante out of the station we will need a new way to get information”

Iris was hooking the blood to his arm and said “last midnight always has a reason…we all wondered about Matias…but maybe his head to be a new way to look at things…and to be more direct. Dante probably wouldn’t have quit if Matias had given him the courage to do so…”

Serena looked at Josh and nodded. “Perfect thank you love” she took the tongs and slipped them into place to hold the wound open. Now she was able to use both hands to guide her shadow to the damaged lung and she closed her eyes to see what her shadow saw.

Bane was by Trish and said “clever…she’s using her shadows like a surgeon would use a small camera and tools…to keep having to open his chest up…”

Serena was sweating as she said “I found the hole. There is a rib in the lung. Chas? I need you to move his rib back into place. Josh? You are goin to take the arms from John because once that rib moves its going to hurt a lot…”

Scarlet looked up and said “they were hit the most the last few weeks…I haven’t been able to go home some nights…” Bane nodded slowly and said “they will get hit again.”

Midnight was pacing again, tea left on the table as she muttered “I can send shadows to keep watch…”

Iris nodded and said weakly as she picked up the bowl and poured it into a IV bag “Bane is a werewolf, Scarlet a fire pixie, Dante of course a vampire and lady Midnight…I’m not totally sure what she is”

Bane looked up and said “his right. We could get them supplies and get the raiding to stop. Wouldn’t be a bad task for us since the cops can’t handle it”

Iris blinked then said “I should question this but” she waved her hands and plants jumped to life and wrapped around the corpse and started to drain the blood into a bowl she laid down. “Hopefully it’s alright…”

Serena moved and started to undress John so she could get a look at his chest. His chest was bruised and beaten and she cursed. “From the looks his lung was hit…I need to repair it…maybe” she moved to the table and grab a knife and needle and said “this is going to be gross”

She checked both sides and found the lung that had been damaged and then made a small cut next to the lung and said “Chas I need you to hold his arms down. Josh? I need you to find anything I can use to hold the hole made open. Kay? I need you over here”

She pulled Kay over and said “I need you to watch his breathing. As soon as you hear a change tell me” she then threaded the needle and a shadow took it and she moved the shadow into his chest. She closed her eyes and focused, using her shadow to move to the hole in his lung and start repairing it.

Trish moved to out of the way and said “is she using shadows to do surgery?”
