Current I turned 40 recently. Nothing happened, no crisis or anything. Turns out it's just another year.

I always have trouble discerning between rambling and good description. I'm not a fan of flowery language myself, so I tend to keep my stuff short and to the point. I could try to embellish things a bit, if that'd make it more enjoyable to read. :)

That's alright. Don't force anything. I've found, however, that filling the gaps with character's thoughts is a decent way to develop things—how they reflect on things—which is usually best conveyed in the first person.

@Everyone, I don't want you to get stressed out by the seven day-deadline—the 'autopilot' is there for a reason—but you should definitely strive towards posting once every seven days.

Also, has anyone heard anything from Tenish? Everyone has made a second post and been active in the ooc except Tenish. I haven't received any private messages from him either. Remi will autopilot with everyone else for now, until we hear something.
@Insatiable, that sounds far away, indeed!

@Ex, I'm impressed by your enthusiasm regarding this subject. All of what you suggested seems logical to me, well done. Write all of that stuff as a Codex paragraph and I'll add it to the ooc-text.

I read all the new posts on the subway today. I love the feeling of just escaping into the world of these characters and forget about all the bullshit in the real world. I almost missed my stop! I wish there was more to read in each post, so that I could get to know your characters even better, but... I dream...
@Ex, go ahead and write a Codex entry for the Oakridge Military Academy Rank Structure.

Oakridge is not funded by the government, they are entirely independent, which is why they have to fund any and all external military support. Oakridge has one or two aircrafts themselves, but fuel and ammunition is acquired elsewhere. This is why they charge a symbolic sum when their soldiers call in heavy and expensive support. However, whenever WARG soldiers are in the field, they come by or often work with other military forces funded by the government or city-states, and can call on support through them. It's only when there is no other options and the soldiers have to call support though the academy that they have to help pay for the fireworks.
Where is here, if you don't mind me asking Insatiable?

The military academy thing was merely a plot device to bring our characters together. I haven't spent any time on its details because the majority of the story is outside of the academy anyway. If that's the kind of uniform you imagine, then imagine it that way. As for ranks, there probably is some kind of hierarchy system, but within SWARG I imagine that they would have less of an impact or meaning, as it's a covert group and their activities are not always legal. And, those assets (airstrikes, etc) certainly cost the academy a great deal of currency, as they're an independent specialized military force, or it could simply be a device that prevents us from calling in support at every turn.

have we talked at all about the uniforms they wear (what they look like, components, etc)

No. If you have something in mind, post it here!

I realize that people have lives, and that it's summer, (and it's really good that you guys say when you can and cannot post) but try to keep the seven day marker in-between posts. I'm nearing that limit for my second post and only 1/4 of all players have posted.
Sounds good Ozerath, looking forward to reading.

@Archangel, the spirits already allow Guardians to perform unnatural acrobatic moves, so something like the odm-gear would not be necessary, even if the gear would allow them to perform even crazier stuff. And, don't worry about 'over using' spirits. It doesn't work like that. They do not get 'tired', you do not get tired as you're not the one doing anything, and there is no 'mana' pool.

Unrelated note: I've twisted my brain inside out the last couple of days by attempting to conceive some proper Combat GM-guidelines, but I think I'm close to something decent. Basically, it allows me to objectively (to some extent) judge the outcome of combat scenarios without the use of numbers, dice, attributes, or any other crazy tabletop stuff. And the best part is, I don't even have to show it to the players for it work properly. They can just roleplay as they normally would.

Hello, I'm highly interested in this. Is it still open?

Hi, thank you. Unfortunately, I cannot handle more players at this time, as my brain would explode!

@PriskObvious choice! Obvious! Oh yes, not like there's anyone else who would make a good leader. Someone with a clear head and a mind for strategy. I mean, it isn't like anyone has been working their little butt off, taking every available opportunity to earn every tactical and operations commendations he could get. Who is efficient, professional, and discrete in all he does. No, no there's no one who could deserve command more.And there certainly isn't anyone with some deep seated insecurities or control issues who would be intensely jealous by the decision. Nope. No one.

Sarcasm is my favorite form of humor as well! I'm sure Remi will shove his tactical prowess down Olivia's throat each and every time the opportunity presents itself! Oh yes, I'm sure of it. Yup. Yup, every time. Always. I'm counting on it, for the sake of drama!

I have a question. Should I leave the game? I've missed a good bit and it's going to take some time for me to catch up.

What?! No! Why would you say something like that? Like Six said, we've only just begun. You'll catch up in no time, I'm sure of it.

LOL. All aboard the Thael love train!Just thinking about my next post. Prisk, was Olivia always the obvious choice for command slot, or would it have been a recent decision?

Olivia was not the logical choice for command, and she appears to be bewildered by it herself, but there are a number of potential reasons as to why she was chosen by the Council. Some of those reasons rests within her personality; things like "decisiveness, sophistication, magnetism, and confidence." The third paragraph of her biography also sets her up as the perfect leader for this particular group. It's something that the Council would have noticed over the years. When you have a power-house group like this, you need something beyond the traditional commander to lead. So, to answer your question: she was the obvious choice, but not the logical one, and it was not a recent decision. I can imagine that Thael would have been a better choice, and I would expect him to have some kind of reaction to all of this—short-term and long-term.
@Ex
We are going to have to collaborate in regards to Olivia and Emily, but it's few posts down the road, though not too far. I've planned a special moment for everyone, but yours happens to be first. If you want to know what it is beforehand, then that's alright, but it will spoil it for you. If you don't want to know what it is, then that will work equally well.

@Adora & Everyone
Don't forget the Google doc! You don't have to use it, but it's an option.

@Rockette
I see, well, good thing that you saved those precious words for later then!

@Insatiable
No problem. Thanks for the heads up. With the 'timelines' it's difficult to fall behind unless you are absent for several weeks. You can always go back to a timeline and complete whatever interactions that you had going.

@Everyone
I don't know what your methods are, but I usually plan my posts by writing small notes and ideas in my phone, or whatever, of things that I want to cover in a post—makes it easier and faster to write the damn thing when I get around to it!
Great post Rockette, and nice attempt at 'holding back.'

@Archangel, take your time, no rush!

My second post is up. Posting from now on is a bit more free-form without any particular order. Remember to get at least one post in every seven days from your last. Also, make sure to acknowledge everyone and what they write—if I or someone misses something, then just point it out and we'll edit our posts.
