Gotta say, I wouldn't want to be the character who gets stuck in the basement bedroom...Also, the image of the the interior has become a picture of a tarantula for some reason. :D Could just be me though...

That bedroom is for the lucky soul who picks bedrooms last during that time- mwhaha.
Then again- I might play some tropes and have the basement seem so scary, but end up being pretty safe. LOL

I can see that o: and now.. I can't unsee it- Thanks! xD
Yes, welcome back!
I'm thinking we'll have the arrival and hat sorting sometime this week.
Lovely character! Definitely ACCEPTED.
Only one more spot open everyone!
Also; if any interest; here is what the house looks like on the outside as well as a simple layout I did.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Name: Ms. Helen Deville
Age: 86
Gender: Female

Likes: Canning fruits. Reading. Sunshine. Cleanliness. Privacy.
Dislikes: Loud noises. Doctors. Medications. Cooking. Technology.

Personality: Friendly. Steady. Quiet. Independent. Patient. A bit stubborn.
Relationships: Widow to husband Howard Deville. "Mother figure" to most.

Biography: Howard and Helen had a love that was strong, steady, and true. The two were young high school sweethearts, and had to be married just as soon as Howard found the money to slip a ring on Helen's finger. Together they found the home that soon became Rising Sun. It was in a disheveled state when they first bought it but together with lots of elbow grease and patience the two made it shine. Year after year they had many students, numbers in the 50's the two worked as a team to make the youth of the time into upstanding citizens.

Raising everyone's children brought thoughts of having their own children. Time after time they tried but they did not conceive. Thinking that they might have something wrong, they took to a specialist. Both were healthy and young enough to have a child, the problem was all in their head. Trying once more, Helen finally became pregnant with her one and only son; Jack. Jack had been a tough pregnancy on Helen, she constantly felt ill, and was rushed to the hospital early with a premature child. As they raised the child up to show both the parents; the face that they saw caused them both to gasp in horror. Their child had been very disfigured.

Tensions in the marriage became high as Jack grew, he was for the most part a quiet boy but often became mischievous when not given enough attention. During this time Rising Sun classes dwindled down to small numbers of less than 20 children to a year. The drop in attendance caused money to be tight, but Helen fought for the school, she wanted to give a life to children that she could not give her own.

Howard's death was hard on Helen. Emotionally and physically she became weak, and her age was not helping her. Classes became smaller and smaller, and she knew that she would have to retire soon. Not wanting to leave the home she helped build from the ground up, she refused to go to a nursing home and brought in Derek as a caretaker. Though a bit snippy with Derek sometime she cares for the boy and enjoys his company in the lonely over sized house.

With her health deteriorating daily, Helen wanted to spend a nice weekend with her last class she taught. With lots of preparation and help from Derek, the two put together a very well sized feast, a clean home, and found each and every one of the students to invite.

Soon they would all be together, and reminisce about the past and dream about the future..

Rules, Greetings & Announcements:

Ahoy & welcome to a roleplay hosted by me, MissCapnCrunch! I am by no means an amazing GM, but I do put a lot of effort into my roleplays and try to make it a fun experience for everyone involved. You can refer to me as any variation of my username or if you want a for sure response; my name is Tori.

Something you may have not had in a roleplay before is a GM that does summaries after awhile in the roleplay. Because of the nature of this roleplay, and how many people are in it- you might fall behind one day while doing stuff in real life, or whilst participating in another roleplay. Instead of freaking out- you can often find a link to a summary of what happened that day in the roleplay IC. When in doubt; ask me. I'm terribly nice.

My usual rules are as follows:
All of The Guild rules apply here.

➤ No God Modding or anything like that.

➤ One liners are terrible. Don't do them. A paragraph or so is great!

➤ Speed posting? No. Please wait 2-3 people between your posts or 1 hour. Whatever comes first.

➤ Though this roleplay is mature think SMART, don't flirt with the banhammer.

➤ Be creative and have fun. I love both of those things, and am always open to ideas for plot!

➤ Kindness gets you far with me. You can be snarky as you want in character, but don't do it here.

➤ I want DEDICATED roleplayers. Believe me, I understand things come up! On the other hand I know there are also a lot of people that have no damn excuse why they ditch out, and it drives me insane. If you're going to drop off- let me know ahead of time. In this roleplay in particular; if you drop out you will be the firsts to be killed- and believe me darling; it won't be pretty.
