Your eternal enthusiasm is especially appreciated, as always! So, hmm, perhaps the key is to strike a balance between confusion and purpose. I definitely wouldn't dictate what characters should do, and characters should continue to drive the plot by their own personalities. Perhaps if, in each post, I offered something tantalizing or horrifying or enriching to each individual character, as well as something more goal-oriented for everyone at once. And, of course, many surprises.

I'm thinking out loud. And totally planning on experimenting on you guys. ;)

Nobody apologize for prioritizing life over RP! Life always takes precedence, especially where loved ones are concerned. ;)

As for the RP, I feel like I need to lay down a lot more structure and avoid more confusion. Admittedly I've been throwing heaps of randomness at all of you just to see what your characters do with it -- I would put importance on the things they notice and interact with, and drop whatever gets ignored. The result is a hodgepodge of confusion, which is fun in some ways but the plot is muddy at best. Your characters need information, guidance, goals, and tools to help them on their way -- once they figure out which road they're taking. But I also don't want to stall the action.

In short, I'm going to try for clarity and a more linear plot in the near future. Ideas, preferences and discussions are always welcome, of course!

(also, gonna wait to see if Zealous will post before the next mod post!)

Checking in! It's Saturday and not many people have posted. I'll have to be sure to make the mod post simpler, more sensible, and less crazy-convoluted. It appears the current style of handling action-reaction isn't going anywhere tangible, and even I'm confused about what's going on. I'll think on a different tactic.

In the meantime, mod post (a possibly differently styled one) is set for tomorrow.

@Aura Lodestone I'm on a phone so it's hard to quote, but I believe food was provided in the previous mod post. Cans, boxes and bags of edibles of unknown age inside the open door of the pillar. Unless Elin is unfamiliar with food packaging, of course, in which case he is indeed out of luck. ;)

Like, sooooo not saying this is an excuse or anhything, but does anyone else feel like when they read the Mokley Epicdom responses to other rooms that your charrie isn't currently in... does anyone else feels likes it's... idk... ~whispers~ 'cheating...?'

Kinda like ya shouldn't be peeking into the other room cuz your charrie dun knows anything about the other room? Like what's it called? Meta? Meta-tizing? Right...? Sumpin like dat? O.o? Idk, I'm weeeeird I guess?

Ah haaa but that's not necessarily true!

The observatory is right above the map room, and the level between them is thin -- anyone in either room can hear what's going on in the other. Also, the pillar that connects both rooms has a ladder in it and a door in each room, both of which are unlocked. Everything in the engine room can be heard by anyone near a speaker, and anything that happens on deck can be heard by the engine room.

But personally, my main reason for pushing everyone to read everything is so I don't feel pressured to copy/paste everything I write for each room just to ensure everyone who CAN hear what's going on actually does. ;)

Eep! I didn't mean it like that, but on rereading my energetic encouragement seems harsh, which is the opposite of my intention. You guys are awesome, sincerely. I just mean, as a friendly reminder, no one is limited to what is immediately presented to each character. I mean, something that seems meant for one character could easily be stolen or used by another. I mean, every character is able to affect any other character in some way. For example that is. I mean, by reading all, more possibilities will emerge. ;)

:: There are three speakers: one by Moss, one by Tamara and Sidwell, one in the engine room. All of you can talk freely to one another without my interference.

:: It's all chaos right now and probably makes no sense, but I'm still getting a feel for your characters. Already I can tell that Christopher is most likely to break things, Zosime is most likely to poke at strange artifacts, and Elin is most likely to accidentally kill you all. Keep it up. ;)

:: READ EVERYTHING. I cannot stress enough the fact that so far a lot has been overlooked because some people only read what's under their quotes. Seriously, guys, ALL of it affects everyone. You'll thank me later. :D

Edit: apparently there's something glitchy going on with the "Co-GM" sticker at the top of the thread. It randomly shows random people as Co-GM.
