Power(s): Telekinesis. The best scientific explanation for it, so far, is that she has the ability to latch onto the nuclei of atoms and forcibly rearrange them—or in her case, move them. She suspects that she could eventually destroy objects, but she hasn’t been able to achieve that yet.

Personality: Very much a rough and reckless nature, Vivian could be described as chaotic neutral on the alignment spectrum. She’s out for herself and whatever she wants, and has a lot of trouble trusting other people. The only thing she struggles with more than trust is patience—she enjoys having things done quickly and correctly. She operates within her own moral framework, willing to do what may seem unspeakable to others, as long as she can justify it to herself. There is a sweet and sensitive side to her, but of course, it’s buried deep down. She’s much more likely to seem insane than she would be to look harmless and gentle.

Both of them had firm expectations for what they wanted from their daughter—and it didn’t matter that Vivian wanted nothing to do with them. The nanny more raised her than her parents, and when she was around 12 years old, her parents decided that they didn’t need a nanny anymore. This was when Vivian began to rebel. She wasn’t the type to skip class—she was more of the organized rebel type. She would con the other kids at school, running black market type networks. Drugs never were her business, and eventually, she started doing petty crimes, such as shoplifting.
By the time the radiation hit, Vivian had just graduated from college. Her degree was in computer science, and mostly, she went to college to please her parents. They controlled her money, after all. She had intended to use her degree in order to become a well paid hacker, causing trouble and getting paid… Instead, Vivian collapsed in her apartment, only to wake up and realize that her phone would fly to her hand, that the blankets were floating, and other objects were suspended in air. She could control things with her mind.

And of course, Vivian didn’t feel like playing the hero. She started using her power for sophisticated crime—high class bank robberies, and other things of that element. She got the nickname of Silver Curse due to her practices. About a year into her crime spree, however, she was betrayed by one of the other Gifted in her group. They ratted her out in hopes of getting a reduced sentence. Both of them were locked up in a high security prison. And due to Vivian’s powers, her isolation had to be complete. No one could trust the girl who could move objects with a simple thought.

And to Vivian, they were right. She would do anything she could to escape—and to get her revenge.

History

Life Before The Apocalypse Vivian’s parents never paid too much attention to her. Her father was the CEO of a major company and her mother a former pageant queen. Of course, as an adult, her parents forced her to attend college. She fulfilled her foreign language requirement by studying German, admiring the strong and powerful force behind the language. Studying Computer Science, Vivian intended to become a hacker, getting paid for messing around. It would have been the dream, yet soon after graduating with her bachelor of science, she found herself in a sticky situation. She had hacked into a major company, and her parents managed to settle the case out of court. One of the terms was that Vivian never hack again--one that her parents agreed to for her.

During all of the court proceedings, Vivian got interested in a replacement career: one as a Bail Fugitive Recovery Agent. Training physically and mentally, Vivian moved to Washington, finding the cesspool that was Tacoma incredibly lucrative for business. Licensed to practice in both Kansas and Washington, Vivian has found some sort of stability in her life--though her parents aren't pleased that their daughter became a bounty hunter.

Life Leading Up To the Apocalypse // What Brings You to Altsoba Vivian's father, after his career change from CEO to pastor, invited her to live with him in Altsoba. Initially, Vivian refused, wanting nothing but distance from her parents. However, with the high price of living Seattle and being unwilling to live in Tacoma, Vivian settled for a modification of her father's offer: she would pay rent, in order to feel as if she retained her independence. Living on the upper floor of her parents' home, Vivian attempts to ignore her father at all costs.

Most people in Altsoba know her as the pastor's daughter, to her dismay. In general, locals think that she goes against all of the ideals the old preacher talks about, but their relationship is improving--slowly. When the apocalypse was rumored to begin, Vivian's father begged her to stay with him in Altsoba, fearing for his daughter's life. She agreed--mostly because a fugitive was rumored to have made his way towards the fateful town. It was business as usual--it didn't matter that the world was ending.

History

Your First Walker Encounter: Ravi was working the night shift at the morgue, when his roommate, Major, called him in a panic. Major's fiancée Liv, the assistant medical examiner, had been bitten during a boat party on Lake Washington about an hour prior. Liv had developed a massive fever, and rather than wait for the ER to see them, Major rushed her over to see Ravi at the morgue. Ravi kept Liv under observation and examined her as best as he could, but she succumbed to the fever and died a few hours later. Ravi and Major spent the night in the morgue, his friend grieving the loss of his fiancée--only Liv woke up again a few hours later. She was the one and only walker Ravi ever killed, and he regrets not doing more to help Liv to this day.

History Before Outbreak: Ravi had a fairly posh upbringing in central London, attending the best schools and getting fairly decent grades. He went to comic conventions and knew everything about anything fictional. Before Ravi was interested in girls, he was obsessed with Dungeons and Dragons. He did amazingly on his A levels and went on to study surgery initially. However, in the middle of his third year of medical school, he took an upper division anatomy course, where they covered a unit on anatomical pathology. He fell in love with pathology, becoming utterly fascinated with the inner workings of diseases, and changed his career path that semester. It meant a few extra semesters of courses, but he didn't care.

Although his university was in Scotland, he moved to the United States to complete his residency. By the time he finished, he had been offered a position with the Center for Disease Control, which he happily accepted. However, Ravi was fired from his job as a forensic pathologist just four years later. He had developed a bit of an obsession with the possibility of bioweapons, to the extent that his superiors felt it interfered with his work. He was supposed to have been researching the impact of various experimental drugs on diseases with the potential to become epidemics. Instead, Ravi prepped for biological warfare on a global scale.

But being a forensic pathologist with impressive qualifications, Ravi found another job easily. He relocated to Seattle and accepted the position of Medical Examiner with the Seattle PD. Having a steady supply of bodies pouring in, each with some variety, helped to keep Ravi focused on his tasks. However, he did start to keep rats, running minor experiments on them with his friend and assistant Medical Examiner, Liv.

By the time he was thirty, his life was relatively perfect. He was dating a feisty assistant to the district attorney, living with a tremendous bloke who loved video games just as much as he did, and holding down a steady job that he loved. His younger sister of thirteen years even passed her A levels and received admission to Oxford.

History Since Outbreak: But that all changed. After Liv died, Seattle became quickly overrun. The boat party had impacted more people than just Liv and it spread quickly. Ravi and Major narrowly escaped from the morgue with their lives, making their way to the roof. There, they met up with one of the detectives, Clive, who was helping to evacuate personnel with one of the police helicopters. They managed to get to safety, but their luck didn't hold very long. Their pilot had fainted from stress, and with Clive and Major helping other survivors, Ravi received a quick crash course in flying a helicopter.

Ravi flew them into the Wenatchee National Forrest, aiming to get to his girlfriend's cabin in Leavenworth. Instead, they ended up landing in the hardly inhabited town of Skykomish, where the outbreak had not yet spread. And although Ravi called the CDC to offer his services, especially as a responder in the area, he never got a response. The phone lines had been flooded. Instead, they used the helicopter in a search-and-rescue sort of manner, with Ravi slowly improving his piloting skills, and evacuating survivors from the larger cities like Seattle and Tacoma. Skykomish was the most populated it had ever been, though the flight missions stopped when Seattle was deserted and Tacoma was bombed. (But it's Tacoma, so no one was really surprised to begin with...)

The first year, things held steady. They managed to get a small organizational system working, but people soon divided themselves off into groups. Infighting for resources and territory tore the group apart, rather than any threat from the walkers. Ravi fled with Major and Clive in the helicopter, making it as far as Cashmere before it finally ran out of fuel. There, the three men commandeered an RV and headed east, scanning the radio waves for any signs of life or survivors.

For the next two years, the three men were on an apocalyptic road trip of sorts. They came to know the RV as their home, staying with settlements for a week at most. The boys would help those they came across with medical attention and training, perhaps being some of the few decent guys left around. But Major had been a social worker, Ravi took the hippocratic oath, and Clive was a police officer. It was in their nature to help.

By the fourth year, they found themselves in Alabama. Survivors were harder to come across, and settlements were distrustful of them. They had learned to keep to themselves by that point, helping strangers who had been stranded, but never large groups anymore. But when Major and Clive were off gathering food supplies, a hoard came across their makeshift RV-camp site. He never saw his friends again, and after waiting at the rendez-vous point for a few weeks, Ravi moved on. With what meager supplies he has, he's hoping to come across a friendly settlement, and offer his medical expertise in exchange for food and shelter.

He hasn't given up hope that Major and Clive are alive, of course, but he knows he'll never see them again.

History

First Necromantic Encounter: Andromeda had dedicated her life searching for the bizarre. She spent her summer in New Zealand, at the same time when the horrific events were occurring in Altsoba. From behind the blinds in her hotel room, she spotted a scandalously dressed man pounding on the door of her neighbor. He was let inside. A few minutes later, screams pierced the air. Andromeda quietly rushed over, only to witness the woman being devoured alive, her heart lying limply on the floor as the thing continued to feast. It hadn't noticed her yet, and Andromeda grabbed the lamp from the table, and smashed the creature's brains in.

It was only later, once she had a chance to do some proper research, that Andromeda learned what that had been--a rakshasha.

Life Before the Altsoba Massacre: The Aldrich family has been in Coventry since 1867, having purchased a small hotel with profits received for service of the Union Army in the Civil War. Andromeda's father, Sal, turned the dying hotel into a themed hotel about thirty years ago, right around when he married her mother, a world famous astronomer. The marriage didn't last long, since Andromeda's mother worked in New Mexico for S.E.T.I.

Her time was split then between the Halloween themed hotel and the satellites in New Mexico. The arrangement was a unique one. Initially, Andromeda spent the school year with her mother. Her mother was in love with her work, and so, Andromeda missed school frequently to come observing with her. She learned a lot of science, but not much else. However, this instilled one of Andromeda's deep beliefs in her--to question everything and to keep an open mind.

A court order sent Andromeda to live with her father, Sal, for most of her high school career. She received a far more stable education, and ended up attending a school nearby in Boston for college. Pursuing a degree in history with a minor in astronomy, Andromeda found her love for bizarre history and facts. Little things that didn't seem to be possible. She spent most of her twenties traveling the world and collecting these little artifacts, and by the time she came home, she turned her collection into a museum. The town was already a tourist trap for those interested in things a little odd, making it the perfect place for her to live out her life.

Life Since the Altsoba Massacre: Andromeda continued her search for the bizarre, but now began to learn more and more about the truth. The events in Altsoba were largely covered up, but she continued to study on her own, eventually finding out roughly what happened. She knew what she had seen in New Zealand--it wasn't something that she could have made up. Her father was murdered just months after the events at Altsoba, and Andromeda has been running the hotel ever since the tragedy. She can't quite explain it, but she knows that her father's death has something to do with what happened in Altsoba.

But of course, it's not like she can tell the police that...

History

How did your character die?: Andromeda's father had died under suspicious circumstances, with the police pinning it on a young girl from the traveling circus, Cirque Anomaly. With her experiences traveling abroad and the apocalyptic events that had happened half a year ago across the country, Andromeda was convinced that her father wasn't killed by anything human. She hired a private investigator to look into the matter. After an unsuccessful attempt on Andromeda's life, followed by an unknown sniper killing the P.I., she made her way with a gang of misfits to Cirque Anomaly.

The plan was to use the young girl as bait, in order to lure the demon Andromeda believed murdered her father into a trap. While they succeeded in avenging her father, unbeknownst to them, the demon wasn't working alone. He had managed to damage the fabric of reality, and as Time attempted to heal itself, it needed an energy source to accomplish that...

...Andromeda was that energy source. Needless to say, one small human doesn't last very long as a glorified battery.

What Brought You Here: There are two, no, three answers, though each of them come with varying degrees of truth.

1) While her father was avenged, that did not mean he received justice. The demon, Mephistopheles, who killed him was slain but that means little to the dead. Once someone's life is over, that's (usually) it. They're just a memory. Andromeda wishes to give her father justice by preserving his memory. It keeps her from moving on, from seeing what the next adventure is after limbo.

2) Her half-brother, Walter, is in grave danger. Andromeda died before she could learn what happened to her brother - that he was gunned down just one town over shortly before she herself died. To her, he's still out there, alone in the world, with a warrant out for his arrest. If they arrest him, he'll be executed. Period. He tried to end the world - but family is family. He fought back against the devil in the end. That's all that matters to her.

Yet this final reason is perhaps the real one:

3) More than anything else, she wants more time to experience everything the world has to offer. While she had spent her twenties traveling the world and seeking out the peculiar, it wasn't enough. Her curiosity wasn't satisfied. There's still so much out there that she has never seen before, so much to explore and to discover... Twenty nine years wasn't enough time to even attempt to understand the mysteries that govern the world.

Does your character want peace: Maybe one day she'll want peace, but for now, Andromeda could do without it. It's a nice concept, but her intellectual drive doesn't allow her to wish for it. There's so much for her to learn and discover that the idea of peace seems almost...dull. She has a chance to look behind the curtain and understand more of how the world works. Why trade such a rare opportunity for peace? It'd be a waste of an experience that not everyone gets to have when they die. She wants to experience everything she possibly can - peace can wait.

History

What Brings You To The City: She had done an exchange program at Justice University, and once she was looking for a job, a professor from the school contacted her, letting her know about an opening at the asylum. A plane trip, two interviews, and a stellar letter of recommendation later, she landed the position. She knows that her third cousins, Cecily and Ethan, both live in California and having family, no matter how extended, in the area didn't seem like too bad an idea.

Life Before You Moved In: Iris is the youngest child of the current Earl of Granville, Luc Kingston. Her elder brother, Darcy, is the heir presumptive. If it wasn't for Iris' great-great grandfather outliving his eldest son, the title would have passed down differently. As it was, it went to Iris' great-grandfather, who married and settled down in France. It was only when Iris' father Luc married Jane, a British woman, that the family returned to England, settling down in the old Kingston family estate.

Growing up at the estate, Iris had a sort of odd attitude. She assumed that everyone's parents were earls, that the peerage was quite normal. At home, her father would speak in French, and her mother would speak in English. For the first ten years of her life, Iris' papers would be an odd jumbling of the two languages, as she insisted that it made more sense to not limit herself to one tongue. Her elder brother, Darcy, was quite overprotective of her, calling her weekly once her parents sent her to boarding school.

At school, Iris met her best friend, a rather morbid girl named Mary. Her third cousin, Marley-Mae, was adopted by her parents when she was sixteen, but she hardly saw the girl. Marley-Mae was troubled, constantly running off and getting into trouble. As much as Iris tried to connect with her, she just couldn't. With Mary and Marley-Mae's conflicting personalities, Iris became deeply interested in psychology. She also learned how to fence at the school, and played on the school's ice hockey team.

Of course, Iris also has a lot of family pride, but not in a boastful way. Generations of Kingstons have been buried in the small cemetery on the estate, allowing her to see the immense and rich family history. The Kingstons hold family reunions quite often, and Iris was able to meet her third cousin, Cecily, through them.

Once completing her education and her A-levels, Iris was accepted to University of Cambridge to study psychology, on the sychological and Behavioural Sciences Tripos Track. Her elder brother, Darcy, was a senior at the school as she entered as a freshman, and while Marley-Mae moved out of the manor without a trace, she at least had her brother for a familiar face. Mary attended the same university as well, studying literature.

During her third year of school, Iris was accepted to a study abroad program in the states at Justice University. Rather than take coursework, she gained experience in her field by working at a mental hospital, in order to get practical knowledge. As well as being paid for her work, she earned credits towards her degree, and nurtured some professional connections. Once she completed her program, Iris pursued her doctorate degree as well, again at Cambridge. At age 25, Iris is one of the youngest people to ever be awarded the degree.

Life Since You Moved In: Iris has been in Justice since the beginning of the year. It's a bit different for her, and she enjoys getting away from the manor, getting to live something nearer to real life. She calls her brother about every night, the two of them skyping and catching up. He's currently working for a digital communications company, already high up in the chain of command. The mental ward has been a real treat for her to work at, especially as she's getting to do actual psychiatry.

Personality: Being a Crypt, Virginia has always been a bit of an oddball. But primarily, Virginia can be thought of as a bit of a dark Luna Lovegood mixed with Sherlock Holmes, an almost dreamy individual with no qualms about death. History

Family History: The Crypts are a widespread family, with branches appearing in most of the major countries of the world. Some are in the colonies, some in Spain, but the ones to achieve true wealth and power are based in England. The English Crypts were granted an earldom by Henry VIII, from services to the crown. The earldom allowed the Crypt family to enjoy a relatively comfortable life at Wenwynith Manor. Each earl of the family had the title Earl of Dywell, giving the eldest son the courtesy title Viscount Wenwynith.

The Crypt family reputation is relatively unblemished, almost thanks to the Soulless threat. Prior to the entire debacle, they had been seen as an almost eccentric family, producing some perplexing individuals with unusual interests. However, the training against the Soulless and the imminent danger has almost rationalized the Crypt outlook on life, causing them to lose the macabre taste that they enjoyed a few centuries prior.

Currently, the Earl of Dywell and Lady Dywell do not have known whereabouts. It is suspected that they perished when traveling to visit a distant cousin of Lord Dywell's. Wenwynith Manor is currently inhabited by Lady Virginia Crypt and Viscount Wenwynith, as Virginia's grandmother had already passed. However, since Virginia and her younger brother, James, refuse to believe their parent's demise, James has not taken over yet as the head of the Crypt family.

Your personal life: The eldest child and only daughter of Lord Dywell and Lady Dywell, Virginia was expected to inherit the earldom for a majority of her life. Her father had no brothers, merely distant cousins in a messy spiderweb of Crypt family relations. Per the terms the earldom had been charted with, it would then pass to Virginia. Her parents, thus, prepared their daughter for this from an early age, teaching her not how to run a house, but how to lead. Their longtime butler, Alfred, would manage the household affairs to her.

Like her father before her, Virginia tested well at a young age in intelligence and constitution. Most British Crypts did, so it was hardly surprising. From her fascination with the mind and the idea of astral projection, they sent her to the colonies. There she trained to learn to better understand the supernatural forces, as well as protect herself if ever needed. That was, admittedly, a bit of an afterthought for the Crypts. As a rule, they were more fascinated by the soulless than afraid of them.

While in the colonies, Virginia learned to play the violin, fancying herself to be a discoverer of hidden knowledge. She became fascinated with the mind, as well as budding theories that science could be applied to determine the course of past events. It was here in the colonies that Virginia was exposed to both the mysticism of the supernatural, as well as the determinative nature of science.

She concluded her training at the age of eighteen and returned home to England. Just two years after her return, Lady Dywell gave birth to a son, James. The male heir meant that Virginia could no longer succeed her father and claim the earldom. But rather than be bitter, Virginia merely allowed herself to pursue her own studies. The Crypts were always an odd family, and her parents encouraged her, allowing her to turn the dark basement of the manor into a laboratory of sorts. Her experiments were rather simple at first, experimenting with the feeble beginnings of the ideal gas law, as she applied the meager knowledge she gained in the colonies.

At the age of twenty-three, word was sent to the Crypt families that a distant cousin, a native to Spain, was on his deathbed and wished to see Lord Dywell before he died. Her parents left by ship. They never returned. Presently, Virginia acts as the family head in the place of her brother, as he is too young to even be trained. Their trusted butler, Alfred, continues to manage the household affairs.

What you want for your life: Virginia is not quite certain what she desires in life. She wishes to simply satiate her curiosity, to learn whatever it is she desires to learn, even if she is not quite sure what that is. She is a Crypt, she believes herself to be capable of anything she puts her mind to. As for others, she does hope that her brother, James, will grow up just as well as she did, despite her parents' absence.

Raised with the social rules and decorum of the regency era, she knows all of the social dances to make, despite not truly understanding some of the conventions. But primarily, Virginia can be thought of as a bit of a dark Luna Lovegood mixed with Sherlock Holmes, an almost dreamy individual with no qualms about death. It's her subtle eccentricity, her peculiar nature. Death doesn't startle her--it fascinates her instead, as well as abnormalities in the brain.

Of course, her dreamy nature doesn't make her passive or weak. In fact, Virginia knows very well how to keep her cards close to her chest, and wait for the appropriate time. She simply isn't as motivated to climb the social ladder as others may be, one of the reasons why Virginia currently is not entertaining any suitors. She simply doesn't care. Her independence and stubbornness can come off as a bit bossy, but she'a adapted to essentially managing the Crypt's affairs, due to her parents' absence and her brother's young age (though he currently is in the care of the Russian Circus). One day, she hopes to be able to go march with the Dark Forces and follow after the example of her patron deity, the Dark Mother Veliona - but for now, she has more pressing things to attend to.

History

What Brings You to Cairo: Nora wasn't meeting up with the family expectations. She didn't take any suitors, and instead, completed a program in mathematics at university. Her college didn't grant full degrees to women, and Nora was about to head out into becoming a clerk. Her favorite brother had moved to America, his sweetheart Fannie pregnant with what would be the first of many children. There wasn't much left for her to do in England. In order to avoid the scandal of his youngest daughter working as a clerk, Dr. Kingston agreed to take Nora with him to Egypt. Due to the entire craze of the groundbreaking excavation, the archaeologist decided that his daughter would suffice as an assistant. Nora knew that an opportunity to travel to Egypt wouldn't come along again, and so she accepted.

Life Before You Moved To Cairo: Nora was the youngest child born to Dr. Richard Kingston, a professor of anthropology. The Kingstons were a relatively prominent family, enjoying much wealth and influence. Each daughter was to be wed to a man of suitable stature, with the sons being educated and launched into respectable professions. This worked out for almost all of the Kingston children, aside from Nora.

She never held much of an interest in becoming a wife. While she knew that she could join the protests and fight for her rights, it didn't bother her too much. The world was the way it was, and similarly, she felt she'd be the way she would be. Nora hardly saw a point in fighting the world, instead content to just make choices from what was available to her. She attended college, with the help of her eldest and favorite brother, Ethan. Her parents (and their town) were scandalized by it, yet Nora didn't care. She completed a mathematics program, enjoying the way that patterns crept up amongst the numbers.

She then returned home, living in her parents' house. The world interested her certainly, but there wasn't a path yet for her to strike out. Her father repeatedly squashed her attempts to use her certificate, instead insisting that Nora marry. Suitors came and went, with Nora's honest and perhaps blunt method of communication chasing them off. Regardless, Nora knew that her parents' house wasn't the place for her, and she'd have to strike out on her own soon enough. Egypt provided her that chance.

Life Since You Moved To Cairo: Nora has largely been content and happy. Her father allows her to scan through his findings for patterns, leading her to attempt to decipher or at least identify phrases in hieroglyphics. She can't understand them as a language, but the patterns she adores in math are found in words as well, and so she continues to search. While she realizes that an assistant position is a waste of her certificate, she also knows it's perhaps her best chance. The world wasn't meant for her to take strides in. She would take what she could get.

History

Your First Walker Encounter: Beatrice had been hired by an anxious mother, as her child had gone missing. She tracked down the missing daughter to Coney Island. Beatrice rented a room, and as she was planning out her strategy to make contact with the missing daughter, she heard a gigantic thud coming from the next room. When Beatrice entered to investigate, she found one of the other lodgers dead on the floor, clutching his chest. He had died of a heart attack. And before she even managed to call for the police, he was back up on his feet again, trying to bite her. A few shots later from her .9 mm, and he was down.

History Before Outbreak Beatrice's parents were slumming it out in Justice, taking to the shadows. The pair of them had run away, claiming that it was true love, at the age of 17. It didn't take too long for them to fall in with the wrong crowd, pumping themselves full of whatever kind of drug they could find. It was a miracle that when Beatrice was born she didn't have any sort of birth defects. The young couple was only eighteen years old and their conception of a decent babysitter was their drug dealer.

When Beatrice was three years old, Child Protective Services seized her, removing her from the cesspool of inequity her parents called home. She was bounced from foster home to foster home, with her parents hardly bothering with her. They would usually send her a birthday card, but the main issue was they could never remember when her birthday was. Beatrice never cared to correct them. She was too focused on learning how to survive in the dark and gritty city, getting into fights frequently with the other children.

By the time Beatrice was fifteen, rather than bouncing from home to home, she was bouncing from home to juvi to home. Some of the crimes she actually committed--others were pinned on her by the other children. But that was perhaps the best year of her life. Rather than sending her to another home in Justice, Beatrice was sent to a small town in Northeastern California. Getting away from the violent city did wonders for her. She concentrated on her studies, having a sharp upward trend throughout high school. She began to live, rather than just survive.

Her foster parents adopted her, a lonely couple unable to have children of their own. They walked Beatrice through the process of applying to college, and she eventually attended a state university. Studying Pre-Law, Beatrice wasn't really certain what she wanted to do. It was in her final year that Beatrice realized she likely wasted her education, as she had no intention of being a lawyer. She missed the thrill one could get from living in Justice, and did a bit of research into what she could use her degree for.

Combined with her legal knowledge and excellent capacity for violence, Beatrice became a process server. She moved back to Justice after graduating college, her foster family being kind enough to pay off her loans. Establishing herself as a slightly unorthodox process server, Beatrice was more truthfully a professional stalker who plays tag with legal paperwork. On occasion, she was asked to find people for a general purpose, though that business is run under the table.

History Since Outbreak: Beatrice tried her best to rush back home to California, where at least there would be people that she trusted. Instead, she ended up traveling with a group of misfits in New York, moving from secluded houses in the countryside as an effort to avoid the walkers. This worked while the weather was warm, but New England weather is merciless. Come January, about half of the members in the group died, not from walkers, but from the elements.

Beatrice and the survivors, figuring they couldn't last another winter, started heading down south. They stayed in the woods if they could, with abandoned farm houses being a particular favorite. The little community had an occasional loss from a walker ambush, but they managed to stay mostly in tact, with members teaching each other the secrets they had picked up. But they didn't have much in the way of medical knowledge, instead raiding the stores for DayQuill whenever they could, as it was all they could do.

It was in Georgia, two years after the outbreak, that things started to fall apart. Infighting tore the group in half, as people had started to fall in love--and then violently out of love. The group disintegrated, half opting to head west, and the others remaining in place. Beatrice, as much as she wanted to return to California, ended up stuck in the group staying in Georgia.

She didn't stay with the splintered group for more than another year. She was one of the better trained members in the group, for when it came to dealing with conflict. And she had become quite good friends with one of the group members, thinking of him like a little brother. But as the temperatures rose, so did the tempers. Her only friend ended up shot in a drunken argument, and that same night, Beatrice left the group under the cover of darkness. She's been scavenging her way through Georgia now, wandering almost aimlessly. If she finds another refugee group of people she can trust, that's great. And if not, it doesn't matter too much for her. As long as she's still breathing.

History

The Reason You Chose The Side You Did: In the first war, Dorothy had sided with the Alliance mostly in order to escape her father. The academy gave her the formal medical training she needed, and she was able to leave behind her rotten life. This time, she backed the browncoats due to her principles. The crimes the Alliance committed were unforgivable. As much as she enjoyed the idea of a united galaxy, the events that occurred in Miranda went too far. It was time for her to pick up the fight again--this time, for the browncoats. She couldn't live with herself if she didn't do anything to set things right.

History: The oldest child in the family, Dorothy was born on Boros. Her father ran a bar, and as the years went on, he fell into alcoholism. Brawls became more and more common, and Dorothy ended up tending to her father and his friends on more than one occasion. She picked up crude medical skills, but fortunately, her father never physically abused her mother or her sister. The abuse was verbal, if anything. By the time she was old enough, she joined the alliance academy to become an army medic.

In the first war, she fought for the Alliance. Being from Boros, a planet with a heavy Alliance presence and ties, it was logical and expected for Dorothy. Serving as an army medic, she saw a lot of injuries and death, and on occasion, got into combat herself. She ended the war with the rank of Captain, and settled down in Londinium, working in a military hospital as a doctor. It was comforting to be around others who had been in the war, making sleep a little easier after what she'd seen. While she missed her family dearly, she didn't return to Boros. Instead, she got in touch with her sister and her mother, avoiding all contact with her father as possible. She found stability in her life.

Her life was plunged back into chaos when the signal was sent out. The actions the Alliance took appalled her, and Dorothy resigned from her position at the hospital. Packing up her things, she set out to find a way to serve in the fight for justice. On her way out, she stole as many supplies as she could from the Alliance, hoping to use them for better purposes. The Alliance couldn't be allowed to stay in power, not after what they did. Dorothy met up with her sister, Daphne, and together, they planned to join a browncoat aligned ship. They'd fight this war together.

History

Life Before The Apocalypse Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, Aloise's parents were both in the military. Her mother was an officer in the Army, while her father worked in emergency medical. The Persian Gulf War claimed the lives of both of her parents. Aloise, who had been looked after by her uncle, then permanently moved with him to his home in Ohio.

Her uncle, gay and in denial, didn't have any other family nearby. The rest of the Zamora clan lived in Arizona, and there had been a major falling out due to disapproval over Aloise's mother. Her uncle and her father had then cut ties with the rest of the family. Growing up, then, it was just Aloise and her uncle. She wanted to honor her parents' memory by doing Girl Scouts as a young girl, switching to ROTC when she reached high school. She competed in wrestling and learned how to operate a firearm. By the time she finished high school, she graduated as a Captain in ROTC, and went to university to study Military Science.

After completing her undergrad degree, Aloise signed up for the Marines. As an officer, she served as a second lieutenant for two years, spending several tours in Afghanistan. She received a promotion to first lieutenant, feeling as if she achieved her purpose in life, until six months later when Aloise was killed in combat. Her squad managed to recover her body and it was shipped back to the United States in a casket.

Buried in Arlington Cemetery, she received all of the honors and privileges afforded to a fallen Marine. For six months, her body rotted underneath the Earth among so many others. And then, on a ripe August morning, Aloise woke up. She found herself on top of her grave, her tombstone serving to prop up her head. Clad in her bloodied uniform, the bullets were all gone. None of it made any sense, naturally, until she spotted her tear stained uncle and a young woman. The woman vanished in a blink of an eye.

As Aloise later learned, her uncle had sold his soul in exchange for Aloise's life. She remembered fleeting instances of hell, having been damned there for reasons she still didn't understand. As far as the US Government was concerned, Aloise Zamora was still six feet under. And as for her uncle? Per the terms of the deal, he had only ten more years to live. And then he would take Aloise's place in hell.

In an effort to save her uncle's life, the only family she had left, Aloise became a hunter. The Marines considered her to be dead, so she didn't have that to fall back to. And after dying in Afghanistan, Aloise didn't fancy doing that another time. She traveled all across the country, visiting anyone who claimed to have knowledge of the supernatural, and who might be able to save her uncle's life. And while she became skilled as a hunter, all she learned was that there was nothing she could do to avert her uncle's fate.

Life Leading Up To the Apocalypse // What Brings You to Altsoba While there wasn't anything she could do for her uncle, fighting the supernatural was her new war. When she saw live footage of Vivian Adder killing innocents in Altsoba, Jamila's brief rampage as a Qareen, and word in the hunter community of the disturbed spirit of John Moses, she instantly packed up and headed for Washington. Luckily, it was only a day's drive at that point. Determined to serve and protect, Aloise is going to save as many innocents as she can.

First Necromantic Encounter: When she died, Aloise woke up in hell. She doesn't talk too much about what happened down there, but she's haunted by her experiences. The demons. The torture. The hellfire. The gnawing sensation that she had done something to warrant her damnation. It was an endless nightmare, though endless is perhaps the wrong word. Aloise managed to escape from hell and return to life, at a great cost to someone very dear to her. She still dreams of it.

Liam wanted to learn to become a hunter, and Aloise begrudingly taught him the basic skills--mostly those ones needed for survival. They bicker from time to time, but Aloise has had other stresses. O.M.E.N. is one of them, as per their moral code, Aloise should be put to death. Her life is not natural. She still hunts, but she attempts to protect the other survivors as best as she can as well.

Personality: Jack's personality has somewhat of an internal dichotomy to it. In the good moments, he's light hearted and goofy. He'll crack jokes - the type to make you groan and roll your eyes - all with a shit eating grin on his face. During those interactions, it wouldn't be hard to picture him as a failed stand up comedian or the neighborhood's stay at home dad, volunteering in elementary school classrooms. Yet those moments have become less and less over the past year. The love of his life had brought out this goofy and carefree side to him, but with her missing, something else has begun to fester.

Having had everything and lost it in the span of a day, Jack's become incredibly determined and perhaps a little bit ruthless. If you aren't part of the solution, then get out of his way. He won't hesitate to do what it takes to protect the people he loves, even if it means causing pain to strangers. And if he can't save his family, he'll be damn sure to avenge them. As long as he can protect them, his conscience will be clear at the end of the day. His newfound temper and drive may damn himself to hell, but he doesn't care - as long as his family gets to live the lives they deserve. The lives that were given to them and stolen from them by the former Newnan settlement.

History

Your First Walker Encounter: For his thirtieth birthday, his mother came all the way from Boylston to visit him in Chicago. Jack was beyond excited, and hoped that he'd be able to introduce her to his new girlfriend, a sweet girl named Sutton. He went to the airport and sat in his car, waiting for his mother to arrive in the cell phone pick-up lot. Instead of meeting his mother, he met her walking corpse. Terrified and scared out of his mind, Jack quickly drove off and left the city as fast as he could, searching for some sort of safe haven. To this day, Jack still tries to convince himself that his mother wasn't the walker he met, that she was safe and sound somewhere else in the world. He knows, however, it isn't true.

History Before Outbreak: Jack was born in Boylston to a single mother. She tried her best to support him, and he ended up being the man of the house. He took care of his mother and she took care of him. He had a few older siblings, but they all lived with their father, due to the divorce. Jack, consequently, was all his mother had. To support him, she worked as a tour guide for the Freedom Trail in Boston, and went to night school in order to receive her GED. From an early age, Jack learned the importance of hard work.

Growing older, Jack would refuse visitation with his father. Instead, he'd go with his mother to Fenway Park, and watch the games. He was (and is) a complete mama's boy. When the school day would end, he'd take the T over to Fanueil Hall, and bring her something cool to drink, as the period garb she wore didn't make the Boston heat very easy. Her work caused Jack to love history, and grew patriotic from it. He soon knew everything there was to know about the Revolutionary War, but more importantly, he learned the value and impact of what his mother called "the regular dead people." He was taught that it was the small people who made an impact, the ones that aren't talked about in history books. With his already hard working and caring nature, this lesson motivated Jack to become a police officer, and make a difference.

He graduated high school, and with his diploma, applied to be a police officer. He passed the physical exams easily, struggling a bit with the knowledge portions. His mother had earned her GED, as well as a masters in history, by this point. She began teaching at Boston College, and helped Jack study for the examination. With her help, he passed with flying colors. He worked in the Boston Police Department until he was 27, and at that point, he was transferred to the Chicago PD in order to help fulfill a shortage. Despite trying to fight it and stay closer to his mother, he ended up moving anyways.

It was in Chicago that Jack began to have some serious relationships. He began to break out of his mama's boy rut, and learned the live life on his own. He'd call his mother everyday when he came home from work, but he also let himself have fun and get to know people. By the time he was 29, he was offered a promotion to work in Vice. Glad to be done with the normal traffic duties and other random jobs they'd give him, Jack worked Vice up until the Outbreak happened.

History Since Outbreak: After leaving Chicago, Jack called Sutton, and attempted to get her to come with him. They agreed to meet in Springfield, with Sutton already seeing the Walkers on the news. They met up with some friends of Sutton's -- army veterans -- who had a panic bunker. There, Jack and Sutton lived with five army veterans with massive PTSD underground for roughly a year. The supplies began to run out at that point, and tensions were high, as no one had access to their medications or therapy.

Needless to say, things got a little violent and hostile. Sutton and Jack left the little bunker in the dead of night, and hotwired Jack's old car, as he had long since lost the keys. The pair of them moved from town to town, using the very small skills they had learned in the bunker. The veterans had told them the theory behind surviving beyond its walls--and now, they had to put it into practice. Their first attempt at water purification left both of them incredibly sick, narrowly escaping death by a pair of walkers. Sutton managed to put them down, while Jack was passed out in the back seat of the car. They continued to drive, uncertain as to where they were going, and hoping they'd find some sort of safety.

After learning to work together as a team and surviving for about two years, Sutton and Jack had found themselves in Kansas. They raided the small, abandoned town they found for whatever supplies they could, including just enough to refill the now beaten up and hardly working car with gas. The town appeared to be safe, and in a wish to return to something near normalcy, Sutton and Jack spent the night in one of the houses, even knowing how dangerous it was. During the night, the humans that had made the town their home came, angered and furious at the lovers using their supplies and resources. Sutton was awake when she saw them come into town, and she went out to meet them alone, knowing that they had no knowledge that Jack was there as well.

Jack woke up alone, with shouting and jeering in the distance. From the window, he could see Sutton vanish inside a large mob, with guns and knives and all sorts of horrible things aimed at her. He never saw her again, and instead quickly escaped, taking their meager supplies with him. Now on foot, he found the world to be a much more dangerous place. He couldn't switch watches with Sutton, and he only had himself to talk to. By some miracle, he managed to survive that final year, despite endless close calls and an ever dwindling supply of bullets for his gun.

Eventually, Jack found himself in Georgia, hearing rumors of a safe haven. Without anything better than an old, dirty, and torn up map, he stumbled his way around Georgia, searching for the mythical place.
