This was a bad idea. Everything in Oswald's body was screaming at him to run. Rice's behavior, Marcus's plan, everything all pointed towards a very, very bad ending for everybody. He imagined some explosions and screams would follow along. The fact that they'd only seen tracks so far was unsettling. Not even a single Grimm had shown itself.
"Marcus, Diamond's right, this is all screwed up. We should've seen something by now. A Beowulf, literally anything. But it's been silent all the way. I smell an ambush, and not a Grimm one." Looking around, Oswald groaned at the lack of activity. The grass was tall, but only the smallest of Grimm could be hiding down there. Who could be ambushing these convoys?
Only one answer came to mind- the White Fang. Gritting his teeth in frustration, Oswald sighed. Waiting for the enemy to move was always torturous. If they had any advantage, it would be the Unsubtle. Not that that gave him much comfort. They were on a protection mission, not an eradication job. One stray shell would blow half their paycheck to smithereens. He trusted Marcus, but the drivers were another story. Explaining to the Schnee Dust Company that they'd lost the product because their drivers were incompetent at handling combat scenarios would not be a fun job.
