Dear Mr Curly,
I have done little travelling lately because I have been so dreadfully weary. Can it be true as the old Ecclesiastes said; that all things lead to weariness? Surely not. Perhaps the opposite is true: that all nothings lead to weariness. I have a peculiar feeling, Curly, that I am worn out from something I haven't yet done and the more I don't do it, the more exhausted I become. How strange. Could it be something I haven't realised? Perhaps it's something I haven't said? Something I haven't finished! It must be very large and true whatever it is and a lively struggle in the doing but I look forward to it immensely. I know I need it. First, however, I must curl up in my chair and sleep deeply with the duck. Perhaps I'll dream of this thing and wake up refreshed and do it. My fond wishes to you Mr. Curly, and to all Curly Flat.
Yours sleepily,
Vasco Pyjama

P.S. Not having breakfast can make you weary. That's for sure!

I've put two scenes on different timelines in parallel. It shouldn't be an issue unless they interact, but I figure that both are going to be fairly lengthy, so we might as well play them out together.
The day finally came to an end for Meesei's pack and their tag-alongs. None could deny the euphoria of finding their beds, wherever they slept, but the quality of sleep amongst them varied.

Janius lay awake for a while before he could get to sleep. He found himself ruminating over what to do about Aurana, each minute trying and retrying another fuzzy idea in his mind. He eventually realised that the reason for his lack of good solutions was the conflicting objectives. There simply seemed to be no good way to get his parents to realise their wrongdoing without getting directly involved. In turn, there was no way of keeping himself hidden from his parents without leaving Aurana to the whims of fate, regardless of any advice or assistance he could provide otherwise.

He drifted off without realising it. He was woken up by Kaleeth wincing at how tightly he was holding her around the waist in his sleep.

The pack was updated over breakfast that Areldril was still working on written resources for them. Therefore, they would not be leaving for at least another night. Marod had no trouble getting permission from the count to continue accommodating them. Lunise was nowhere to be seen.

After breakfast, the pack went in different directions. Sabine dragged Fendros away to the courtyard to immediately begin their training. Sabine intended to at least teach him some cursory methods of active resistance before she began throwing spells at him, so it would be a long day. Rhazii and Julan went to watch and to spar with wooden wasters themselves if they got bored. They wanted to be around just in case Janius' parents did end up coming to the castle like they said. Janius stayed on a bench in the mess hall with Kaleeth to discuss their plan, still assuming the parents would not come to them.

With an empty plate in front of him, Janius twirled the rim of his water mug with one finger, holding the vessel at an angle to the table to roll it in circles on its bottom edge. "So, going from what we came up with last night, I've been thinking and a combination may help us the most." Though Janius was refreshed from his rest, he was no more enthused about the subject. "I'd like to speak with Aurana, see how she interacts with mother and father. If she is scared to stand up for herself, I want to encourage her to overcome that fear. Otherwise mother and father might just bully her back into the old state of affairs after things change. As for other approaches, I've played over ruse after ruse in my mind and I cannot come up with anything suitable. I've been putting it off. I'll have to confront them myself."

Janius turned his eyes up from the mug. "Julan came up with something that might be a strategy, actually. He pointed out that as long as Aurana has nothing to be accused of, they won't have any precedent to constrain her further. If I take as much blame for anything as I can -- if I antagonise, or at least become a scapegoat, the risk to Aurana is little. If I can make mother and father realise what they're doing, even if they officially disown me, it may be worth it in the end. What do you think? Did anything new come to you since last night?"

A few hours after Janius and Kaleeth's conversation, Lunise was finally spotted in the castle again. Where she had been or what she had been doing was a mystery. She was back to her old self, outwardly. Her dark purple uniform draped with the usual otherworldly superiority that its almost full covering emanated. Her face was similarly upturned in her apparent scowling disgust of most things around her, silent as it was. She glided through the castle grounds with her shoes sounding a clapping march on the stone below. It was roughly midday by the time she found Meesei again.
@Antarctic Termite Well, Chiral Phi has shown herself to be an amicable sort who's only ever interested in seeing Toun's plans and mental integrity remain smooth and without any problems at all.

In other news, I think I've just come up with a place to put those extra white giants that Ilunabar returned to Toun.

On that note, something more earnest; were there any giants in Metera valley? That area would probably not be rough enough to keep them away like other parts of the Ironhearts. I guess Phi could have put them down preemptively, though.

>cult

that's not how you spell 'Catholicism' you frickin' moron

Rest assured Toun's probably been hearing aaaaaalllllll about the Voice project from that droningbird. It's okay, says Phi. You can totally be Metera's favourite theistic side hoe. Our societies would get real comfortable with each other and then you'd never have to worry about me running amok without your supervision. I'd be right under your nose. Forever. :)

Toun's gonna make himself a button.

It's going to be labelled "Make that jealous god thing a self-fulfilling prophecy."

He's going to make it just to smash the hell out of it.

What it does is chuck a bass drop in Sularn's ear made entirely from Deus Vults.

Then it will be Toun's Catholicism versus Phi's Catholicism.

(Of course, Phi has to become a big enough problem for that. You've probably gathered by now, but there's more in play for Toun than just spreading a religion as a hobby.)
@Antarctic Termite Damn it, now I have to get off my arse and develop the Tounic cult more so that the Ironhearts have equivalent or better reasons to keep following it as opposed to Phi's cult. Why do you increase my to-do list while I'm so busy these past couple of weeks, ngaaah!
G'night!
Lunise barely nodded. Meesei turned away with her still leaning over the documents she had secured.

"Meesei, wait." Lunise stood up straight, looking to Meesei. With a neutral look, she stepped up to Meesei, placed her hands on her shoulders and hugged her close once more. "Thank you." Meesei felt the addition of Lunise placing a quick kiss on the top of her head. Lunise pulled away before their embrace could last longer than their last one. Her hands fell from Meesei's shoulders and clasped loosely at her front. She still held a neutral expression, though her next breath in was uneven. "Auri-El bless you. Goodnight."
Unless you'd like to continue Meesei and Lunise getting to know one another, Lunise only has one more thing that she'll do. That'll happen when Meesei heads for the door.
Lunise kept her eyes fixed on Meesei. Some red crept up her face, though whatever emotion that had caused it -- anger, embarrassment, sadness, or otherwise -- was kept back in a deep silence.

Her eyes dropped to the lock box. "I will find you tomorrow," she said quietly. "About those hours in Alinor. I will deal with the documents."

One of Lunise's hands curled into a loose fist on the table. "You are being too kind to me."
Lunise's packing up was halted as soon as magic started coursing through Meesei before she teleported. The spell itself succeeded in making Lunise pause and stare for a time. Her frown deepened. However, instead of speaking, she exhaled from her nose and continued stowing the documents away. Meesei's words gave her enough time to secure the documents neatly in a sturdy lock box and turn a small key to shut it. One spell later from Lunise's fingertips and the documents would not see the light of day until another spell was used to open them. Only then did Lunise plant both her palms on the desk, leaning forward, and address Meesei across from her.

"I will stop hiding this, Meesei, for my intentions have been mistaken." Her head angled forward sternly. "I have isolated myself before. I have lived what you describe. This is not me falling into that particular trap again." She closed her eyes. A sharp breath in and out punctuated frustration. "I will repeat: My magic cannot take me halfway across Tamriel. Something I have learned in my profession is not to be lead anywhere I cannot get out from in time. I want to trust you, Meesei, I do, but the risk of you leaving me wherever your magic takes us is too great while I have these documents with me. They are valuable to any that wish to destabilise the Dominion." Another frustrated breath. She looked pained. "I need you to understand. I cannot do this."
