Dear Mr Curly,
I have done little travelling lately because I have been so dreadfully weary. Can it be true as the old Ecclesiastes said; that all things lead to weariness? Surely not. Perhaps the opposite is true: that all nothings lead to weariness. I have a peculiar feeling, Curly, that I am worn out from something I haven't yet done and the more I don't do it, the more exhausted I become. How strange. Could it be something I haven't realised? Perhaps it's something I haven't said? Something I haven't finished! It must be very large and true whatever it is and a lively struggle in the doing but I look forward to it immensely. I know I need it. First, however, I must curl up in my chair and sleep deeply with the duck. Perhaps I'll dream of this thing and wake up refreshed and do it. My fond wishes to you Mr. Curly, and to all Curly Flat.
Yours sleepily,
Vasco Pyjama

P.S. Not having breakfast can make you weary. That's for sure!

Sabine stood and stared at the dragon's head. Seeing it again made her no more comfortable. Now that the icy spear that felled the beast was melted, the ground around the head reeked of darkening blood. Its teeth were stained brown where it oozed out.

"I did not want to kill it," Sabine mumbled. "It spotted us. Yerig greeted it in its language. It wanted us to prove our strength if we wanted the axe. In truth, it was using all of its treasure to lure the Dragonborn." Sabine leaned on her staff. "We fought it. I trapped it. I got closer so I could try to make it unconscious and I thought it would give up. Then it tried to bite me. I had to pierce the roof of its mouth, just like Kaleeth did to Leaps' mother."
I have a Cinead/Minus post incoming soon. I just have to let it rest like a steak and properly edit it.

In other news, I'll be off for Christmas with the famalam in a few days. Probably won't be especially active for a couple of weeks. When I get back, I'll be focussing down Cinead/Minus some more so that I don't hold up WrongEnd too much. However, if the Xos stuff progresses, I'll work on that, too. Cyclone and myself have a collab banked that one of us will post once Cyclone catches up to it with his individual posts. Then, finally, we can start the showdown collab.
In the hour they spent on their own, Sabine firstly spent some more time crying in Meesei's arms. She had so much tension across anywhere Meesei touched with her hands or any restoration magic. It did gradually taper, however. Sabine's release of emotions was replaced by a wave of fatigue. After Meesei examined her for injuries, Sabine hardly had enough energy to stay awake standing up. She tucked herself into her bed and slept for the rest of the hour. Strangely enough, she still held the Staff of Magnus up against her front with her arms wrapped around it.

Sabine awoke without much more energy, but with such a hunger that she could not go back to sleep if she tried. Thankfully, Meesei remained seated beside her bed. Meesei's request to see the dragon's corpse came after she and Sabine went to fetch some food.

Sabine answered after slowly chewing and swallowing the last of a piece of goat meat. "I just feel tired. I do not feel as scared but I...keep feeling...tight. Constricted. I do not know. It will not go away. I have not felt this way since before the ritual."

Staring ahead and constantly blinking away fatigue, Sabine preferred to divert the topic. "I feel up to going back," she said tiredely. She carefully stood up from her seat. "We should do that. I will open a portal here."

Sabine channeled a blue power from her staff to weave open a portal to the dragon's island once more. It just fit the height of her bedroom as they stood in it.

She walked towards the portal without stopping to let Meesei take in just how quickly and easily Sabine had opened it — let alone that she opened it without help.
Emerging from an open hatch in the deck, Ming precariously held a large basket in both hands. The basket's contents were wrapped in white cloth. She took her steps carefully, staring down to make sure nothing fell out.

"Hm?" Ming spun her head around to the others. Her face lit up, showing off her wide red eyes and sharp-fanged grin. "Company!"

Ming rushed over as if the weight of the basket was nothing. She slid to a stop beside Risha. "My name's Ming, and we're the Tail Chasers!--" She skipped no beats with the team name that not all the party had agreed to. "--Kyoumi's right, we're here to win!" Ming resisted the urge to pump her fist. "Nice to meet you. I thought this boat ride was going to be boring all the way through. I was running out of songs to sing. Do you like singing? Are you here to compete as well?"

A realisation caught Ming short of five more questions. "Oh! Also, I found lunch~!" She pinched a gauntleted hand on the cloth and unveiled a steaming clutch of delicious smelling pork buns. "Dig in, everyone!"

The Endless Conversation

She's just happy to be there.

We can keep the scene going between just Meesei and Sabine if you want. It's either that or skipping to Sabine taking Meesei to the island with the dead dragon. She would probably be willing to do that after trying and failing to sleep for a few hours.
Fendros was the one who answered Do'rhajul. He did so without hiding his lack of energy resulting from the past few days. "We will send someone to talk to you about such matters after you are accommodated...prisoner." He hesitated on the applicability of final word with how Sabine wished them treated. "Speaking of which," Fendros continued towards Meesei. "I can organise a guarded room now, if you like. This has been enough of a sufferance for you already, Meesei." Fendros pushed off the wall and gestured with his sword to Yerig and Do'rhajul. "Come with me, both of you. Janius, Kaleeth, Lorag, Ahna, let's escort them and let Sabine and Meesei rest."
I did a signature for Niciel on the Oath of Stilldeath.

I can change it if it is inappropriate.
@Muttonhawk

Of course she still signed it. Why would she not?

Also, I didn’t realize it only prevented the killing of others who had signed it. Whoops.

No worries, I'll jot it down.
A silence soon followed, with Niciel and Osveril in a standoff. Niciel weighed her options on what path to take next. She knew she was not going to kill Osveril, and even if she wanted to, the Oath of Stilldeath prevented her. Perhaps the safest method would be to seal away Osveril now, while it was still in a weaker state. However, Niciel didn't believe that to be the best approach either. A realization had struck her. Niciel didn't think Osveril had really lived very long in Galbar, and perhaps it was just inexperienced, much like a child would be. A child, of course, needed room to grow, and Niciel could not take that away from Osveril.

Forgive me if I missed it, but has Niciel signed the Oath of Stilldeath? If not, she's technically not beholden to it. Even if she was, it would only prevent her from killing any of the other signatories. Osvy Osbourne there is still fair game.

That said, Niciel would have acted the same as she already has -- that's in her character just fine. I was just wondering because I've been keeping track of the signatories and adding cute little signature icons in the creation sheet for the oath.

Btw, I can see some seriously mean verbal bullying in Osveril's future should he seek out Toun.
