Dear Mr Curly,
I have done little travelling lately because I have been so dreadfully weary. Can it be true as the old Ecclesiastes said; that all things lead to weariness? Surely not. Perhaps the opposite is true: that all nothings lead to weariness. I have a peculiar feeling, Curly, that I am worn out from something I haven't yet done and the more I don't do it, the more exhausted I become. How strange. Could it be something I haven't realised? Perhaps it's something I haven't said? Something I haven't finished! It must be very large and true whatever it is and a lively struggle in the doing but I look forward to it immensely. I know I need it. First, however, I must curl up in my chair and sleep deeply with the duck. Perhaps I'll dream of this thing and wake up refreshed and do it. My fond wishes to you Mr. Curly, and to all Curly Flat.
Yours sleepily,
Vasco Pyjama

P.S. Not having breakfast can make you weary. That's for sure!

"Come in," Sabine's small voice spoke through the door.

Meesei entering the room beheld Sabine alone at her desk, looking over writing on paper under a magelight. There was no sign of Karl, likely he had work at this hour. His smell, as well as the scents of Yerig and Do'rhajul, could be perceived.

Sabine turned in her seat and smiled at Meesei. On Sabine's desk were letters written in Dunmeris and Cyrodilic. Curiously, Sabine had a bandage tied around her palm. She quickly obscured it with her other hand before any more attention could be drawn to it.

"Good morning, Meesei," Sabine said. "Do you need something?"

Well, the other day I remembered that we're having a race and that it's about time for some Stog action. You'd better hurry up, or else I'll suddenly snatch the win by banging out the whole post in one go like I did with that Anshal nonsense.

Damn it.

I shouldn't ever agree to collab when I get challenged to a writing race :C
Sounds good to me. Let's do it.
I don't mind too much. If Meesei had some quality time she wanted to spend with Sabine, Sabine will have some things to talk about. We could do that. Should just be a short conversation.

Either that or going on the Black Marsh trip to Kaleeth's tribe.
"Hmmm." Lunise pondered. Her body was relaxed but her mouth tightened with a kind of agitation. When Meesei turned close to her, Lunise followed suit, bringing them together as she wrapped her arm around and up Meesei's back. However, Lunise stopped abruptly before she closed the gap between them. Meesei's clothing caught Lunise's critical eye.

"You wore this to your duel, hm? In front of Siloune and Teroiah?" She said before tsking and shaking her head. "Now I know exactly where I am going to take you, and I guarantee you have never experienced such a thing."

Lol what if I actually made that and it was just a borderline Warhammer 40K fandom

You mean this isn't that already?
I joke...

A Yorumpost update. I am chipping away. Maybe another week or two will do it. The slow progress right now is because I am writing riddles in this Yorumpost and that really taxes my writing energy. The good news is that I only have one more riddle to write. Everything after that should just be plain gravy prose and editing.
Lunise wove her fingers with Meesei's fingers between them and held on. "You are too altruistic for your own good, my dear. Or, perhaps, all this time, you have already been doing what you desire?" The corner of Lunise's mouth Meesei could see hinted a small smile for a moment. "There is a bittersweetness to that, I think."

She took another quick breath. "That does it. I will have to think of something for you. Over a century your senior and connected with the greatest educational institutions in the Dominion, I am sure there is something you have not seen that will be worth this little chapter of free time." She blinked. "Hmph. But what?"
Lunise lowered her eyes and slowly rolled her head back to face the ceiling. She had a small frown. "I see," she said simply. Meesei knew Lunise was never good at showing sympathy, even if it hinted under the surface.

After a long pause, Lunise breathed in through her nose and spoke. "It just occurs to me, all the family you mentioned your pack revisiting over the years. Even Sabine found her sister. I know you are not the envious type, Meesei, but even if I still have my father, I know the...I suppose it is yearning one feels sometimes. I see people with mothers and I want to see mine again. That could only be a part of what you must feel about it."

She turned her face away. "But! Far be it from me to impose such immaturity in assuming free time is always for bloodlines," she said with a clearer voice. Her head turned to Meesei again and caught her eyes. "Surely, in all this busy work, you've had one thing you have wanted to do. Speak it."
"Teroiah may have worked with Khajiit enough times in the past," Lunise said. The way she lay on the bed gave her a relaxed tone. "However, your general Ri'vashi will have to contend with Teroiah's lack of humility. At the very least, Teroiah will not let her pride get in the way of victory after the blow to her reputation you gave."

Lunise rolled her head partway to look at Meesei. "On the note of you, I do not believe I have asked if there are member of your original family that you ever visit. When was the last time you saw any of your tribe?"
"Invigilator," Lunise corrected. "And it is not her permanent title, as such. Siloune's position is more of a superintendent of officers such as myself."

Lunise let Meesei go as Meesei sat on the bed. Lunise strode across to her desk, where a letter was drying, illuminated with a mage light. She continued as Lunise folded the letter and then picked up a stick of sealing wax.

"An invigilator is simply a formality given to the referee of a magical duel. Such duels are traditionally examinations for students of magic."

Bringing a magical flame to her hand, Lunise melted enough sealing wax to close the letter, before quickly pressing it shut with a Thalmor seal from elsewhere on the desk.

"It has been quite some time since I was under such examination, though I could never forget the exhaustion I felt after each one." She turned around to face Meesei. "Indulging in nothing for a while afterwards seemed the best part of those memories." She sat beside Meesei and laid flat on her back, her legs still bent at the edge of the bed. She had her hands on her stomach. "You need a good rest if you want to organise the remainder of this invasion, too. My father was always eager to remind me that 'even gods need to sleep sometimes.' I was never a deep sleeper, unlike you."
