ok. I made a NRP called The Purge. If you want you could check it out. It hasn't started yet because of a lack of players.
Hey Taern! Is my race good? My Race sheet is on page 4
Well, I've given it time, and since no further posts from Vega7 have been made, and my portion of the plot has not been advanced, I'm afraid I'll have to drop. Don't get me wrong, this roleplay was one I was into when it started, but since there's been no real progress I've lost all motivation to continue participating in it or furthering Echoes story. So best of luck with it, but I'm out.

Could you continue this RP on Discord? I think the people here might like to see it come back to life. I could host the Discord server if you want.
The Infestation

General Information
The Infestation is a scar on the universe. It seeks to infest all, to steal all creatures will. The Infestation is an incurable virus. The only cure is putting a host down. The Infestation hates all that is not blighted by the virus and seeks nothing but to spread their plague. A cure is possible, but it will take extreme amounts of technology and time to develop. The Infestation is small now, and are thought of as rumors or myths. But soon, they will come out of the dark places of space to make their mark in history!

History
When the virus developed, it was trapped inside an air pocket deep inside a cave-world known as Cyrus IV. A mining colony was there too. The colony mined into the air pocket and the virus infested the mining crew. From one person to an entire colony in mere weeks. The infestation was born. The Hive-Mind was born in that colony. It started small, a tiny spore. But grew to a massive size. It realized what it was capable of and gave itself a new purpose, to infest all life.

Major Holdings
Cyrus IV: Infested Mining colony.
Cyrus Mission Hub: Infested Space-Station.
116XE1: Infested Asteroid Colony.

Demographics
Infested: 90%
Other Races: 10%

Population
Infested: The Infested Make up the majority of the population. They are the backbone of the Infestation and keep prisoners and slaves.
Other Races: The Infested keep other races as slaves or prisoners. This population is any race they attack. The Infestation use these people as pretend escapees, making them carriers of the virus to spread elsewhere.

Society
The Infestation lets some of their prisoners walk the hives and bases. They selectively choose who to infest and who not to infest. The prisoners live in bad living conditions, but do not get infested. At least, not right away. The Infested on the other-hand, don't seem to live any kind of lifestyle. They patrol mindlessly, attack anything that is not supposed to be in the hive and attack if they are ordered to by the Hive-Mind. They don't care how they live. They only care about infesting, attacking and eating.

Economy
The Infested have no use for many resources besides food. They may pretend like they need or use resources to look more diplomatic, but they stay hidden and refuse to use face-to-face communication in any way.

Government
The Infestation is run by the Hive-Mind. It is on the top of its rule and has smaller (nodes) to extend its rule. Queens, Hive lords and Swarm Leaders act as these nodes of power and keep The Infestation under control and balanced.

Technological Information
The Infestation cannot create advanced tech and need to steal it from others.

Major Techs
Bio-FTL: A biological FTL that has a psionic ability to rip a hole in space to travel short distances around 100-1000 km in space.
Bio-Cannon: A biological cannon that spits a flurry of small flesh balls that have sharp bone spikes.
Heavy Bio-Cannon: A heavy biological cannon that spits a large flesh ball that has large poisoned bone spikes.
Flesh Ripper: A tentacle that has a blade like bone at its tip, allowing it to slash at other things from a short distance.
Bio-Spore: A spore-shaped cannon that spits a large spore that grows tentacles that wrap around things and crushes them. These tentacles live for a few minutes. After that time is up, or they die, they become dead husks with no strength and release their victims.

Military Information
The entire population of the Infested (other than the prisoners) are military. They each have random mutations to help them adapt.

Military Overview

Fleet/Navy

Civilian Ships
Infested Civilian Ship: Another races Civilian ship. Once used for mining, hulling or transportation, is now used for The Infestations military. Infested Civilian Ships are unarmed and the infestation on these ships is only found inside the cockpit of the shuttle. These ships are used for infiltrating other races bases, colonies or space-stations. These ships transport a single Hive Prisoner that is a contaminated carrier of the virus.

Dreadnoughts

Hive Dreadnought: A Hive Dreadnought is a floating mass of flesh and tentacles. It is massive in size, approximately 2 km long, 5281 m wide and 1782 m tall. It is armed with 59 bio-cannons, 802 flesh rippers and 172 bio-spores.

Infested Dreadnought: It is another races Dreadnought. It is infested and now belongs to The Infestation. Infestation on these ships is clearly visible and anyone who tries to talk to it through the com will get a response of screeching, roars and other animal-like noises.

Battleships

Hive Battleship: A Hive Battleship is a floating mass of flesh and tentacles. It is large in size, approximately 1 km long, 4717 m wide and 1272 m tall. It is armed with 28 bio-cannons, 10 heavy bio-cannons, 620 flesh rippers and 50 bio-spores.

Infested Battleship: It is another races battleship. It is infested and now belongs to the Infestation. Infestation on these ships is clearly visible. The Com is normally broken and will not work.

Battlecruisers

Hive Battlecruiser: A Hive Battlecruiser is a floating mass of flesh and tentacles. It is large in size, approximately 9716 m long, 4281 m wide and 1183 m tall. It is armed with 10 bio-cannons, 4 heavy bio-cannons, 582 flesh rippers and 22 bio-spores.

Infested Battlecruiser: It is another races battlecruiser. It is infested and now belongs to The Infestation. Infestation on these ships is clearly visible. The com is normally broken and will not work.

Cruisers

Hive Cruiser: A Hive Cruiser is a floating mass of flesh and tentacles. It is medium in size, approximately 8932 m long, 3721 m wide and 971 m tall. It is armed with 5 bio-cannons, 373 flesh rippers and 17 bio-spores.

Infested Cruiser: It is another races Cruiser. It is infested and now belongs to The Infestation. Infestation on these ships is clearly visible. The com is normally broken and will not work.

Destroyers

Hive Destroyer: A Hive Destroyer is a floating mass of flesh and tentacles. It is medium in size, approximately 5931 m long, 2721 m wide and 791 m tall. It is armed with 518 flesh rippers and 51 bio-spores.

Infested Destroyer: It is another races Destroyer. It is infested and now belongs to The Infestation. Infestation on these ships is clearly visible. The com is normally broken and will not work.

Frigates

Hive Frigate: A Hive Frigate is a floating mass of flesh and tentacles. It is small in size, approximately 1283 m long, 728 m wide and 282 m tall. It is armed with 4 bio-cannons, 52 flesh rippers and 5 bio-spores.

Infested Frigate: It is another races Frigate. It is infested and now belongs to The Infestation. Infestation on these ships is not always visible. The com is normally broken and will not work.

Corvettes

Hive Corvette: A Hive Corvette is a small flying mass of flesh and tentacles. It is tiny in size, approximately 16 m long, 5 m wide and 6 m tall. It is armed with 2 bio-cannons and 1 flesh ripper.

Infested Corvette: It is another races Corvette. It is infested and now belongs to The Infestation. Infestation on these ships is not always visible. The com is normally broken and will not work.

Strike Craft

Hive Strike Craft: A Hive Strike Craft is a small flying mass of flesh and tentacles. It is tiny in size, approximately 6 m long, 3 m wide and 3 m tall. It is armed with 1 bio-cannon.

Army/Planetary forces

Infested Civilian: A infested civilian. They are the main part of The Infestations army. They use any equipment that they used before they got infested.

Infested Soldier: A infested soldier. There aren't a lot of them but there is still a bit. They use any equipment that they used before they got infested and retain some of their knowledge they had to use their weapons.

Infested vehicle: A infested vehicle. Again, only small amounts of them. They are like the vehicles they once were, but infested. They are made of metal and have infested flesh here and there. Their weapons have a 37% chance of being operational after the infestation prossess.

Queen: The Queen of a hive or base. They stay inside their hive and only leave if necessary. They may act weak and helpless at first, but they are actually skilled fighters. They are intelligent and deadly. However, if the Queen does somehow die, the infested that she was controlling become rogue and start to kill everything, including each-other.

Hive Lord: Hive Lords act as royal guards in a way. They are brute-like and not so brutish. They protect the hive entrance and the queens chamber. When not guarding, they are ruthless commanders and excellent elite attack troops.

Swarm Leader: Swarm Leaders command The Infestations armies. The Swarm Leaders are well protected and help the army use tactics, though they still don't listen well and attack mindlessly, the commanders are major helpers in the battles that they are involved in.

Hyperdread

Hive Capital Ship: The Hive Capital Ship is a colossal mass of flesh, tentacles and bone. It is 15 km long, 5 km wide and 2 km tall. It has 500 heavy Bio-Cannons, 2893 Bio-Cannons, 8193 flesh rippers and 2814 Bio-Spores. The Hive Capital Ship can spawn 7124 Hive Strike Craft, 612 Hive Corvettes and 16 Hive Frigates every 5 days. The Hive-Mind is located inside this colossal ship, along with 8 Queens. The Hive Capital Ship only enters combat in war and keeps itself hidden beneath the surface of The Infestations home-world: Cyrus IV.

Infested Hyperdread: Another races Hyperdread. It is now The Infestations, and re-armed with new bio-weapons based on its size. It takes several months to fully infest one and must have 2 or more Queens inside to begin infestation. The Infestation can be stopped if the queens inside are killed and the infestation is burned out before time is up. If it is already infested, it will not work unless the other race possesses the cure to The Infestation.

Okay, now I am curious as fuck is your virus a VIRUS or a bacteria or fungus? because how da fuck can something envolved to reproduce itself in living cells can also attach itself to metal and hijack it, you are dealing with robots not living organism

It is a virus/fungus mutation. It was first produced by a plant in the air pocket of witch it was found. It can gain intelligence and is able to override and grow over a machines parts, Arms, Legs, Neck e.g, and construct muscular tissue and overwhelm a machines motors and takes over its movements. As for a biological host, it can infect the brain, shut down its most important parts and take over those parts. It does not shut down the whole brain, but takes over most of it.
Well i am interested in this game and i am making a machine state for this SO I don't need to worry about a bio-plague but i am pretty sure since that this plague gona be persecuted on day one I don't think i need to worry Also @Nate1008 is your virus have any kind of super mutation because virus are specific to a single race not every race

The virus rapidly mutates and evolves. If it finds a new race its not familiar with it will take a few days for it to evolve against that race and learns how to infect them too. They can also infest machinery, but it takes longer. The infested flesh that grows on the mechanical creature is vulnerable and can be used as a target or asset to hit, making it easier to kill it.
<Snipped quote by Nate1008>

That's a fast way to antagonize every other faction... It will turn your infestation into something hunted across the galaxy and shown little mercy. As for your infection being able to reach the higher-ups, I very much doubt any player will willingly just give up their key figures of their faction. It will be an uphill battle on all fronts.

The virus is airborne, waterborne and animalborne. It can travel through food, water and air. The virus will remain hidden and secretive for quite some time until they feel like they are ready to fight an actual war. And even if it was wiped out, how would someone find out that the virus just infected them. The moment they realize they are infected, its already too late. If the Hive-Mind was killed, it could regenerate somewhere else in time. The Infestation is not 100% stupid and knows they can be eliminated at any time, so they take things slow and wait to become powerful. Besides, the virus wants to be hunted anyway. The more hosts the better.
<Snipped quote by Nate1008>

Again, spooky voices and a mysterious trail of stellar empires and civilizations suddenly going poof do not look good on a diplomatic resume.

People don't trust voices they can't put a face to or know the source of and are often regarded as going insane or something similar. Even if you backstab a space faring nation, the very fact that you are their last known major contact before they suddenly disappear will make people suspicious and connect the dots. This is also assuming they're completely isolated and can't contact someone else for help when their allies suddenly turn on them. In addition, space is HUGE, unless you can destroy every ship in space before they can leave the system, there are going to be survivors.

Yes, Yes, Yes. The Infestation does not care about their diplomatic stance. They have no use for allies and, if they cannot be trusted anymore, some infested will allow themselves to get captured. Later on in prison/lab/ship, they break out and infest it too, continuing its spread. They could not care less for their temporary allies and may abandon them in the middle of battle and make believable excuses to prolong their "alliance". In addition, they may Infest important people in a nation and pretend like everything is fine while the infested person changes things in law/military/information in negative ways. Basically political sabotage. Also, they want people to escape because infected people could be on the ships and can spread the plague even farther.
<Snipped quote by Nate1008>

Just saying, having a history of backstabbing isn't going to make you a lot of friends. The entire fact that most people find infected beings to be repulsive/horrid/disgusting/etc already makes trying to interact with them hard enough. The two combined means that nobody is going to trust you enough to backstab. Having the end goal of eating everything in the galaxy is also a really hard sell to just about everyone. The Lucifern Hosts are going to see the Infestation as more of a threat than anything just like everyone else since they, just like everyone else, don't trust the people who want to eat everything including themselves.

The Infestation does not use face com, witch means they can talk to someone, knowing who they are, without them knowing who called them. Also, the Infestation will not backstab a nation until they are 100% sure they can annihilate them entirely without any surviving witnesses.
@Nate1008@ClocktowerEchos So I'm not @Ozerath, but I do have an important question.

How will other players be interacting with those factions beyond just annihilating them? NRP games generally include strong political components on top of just waging war. There is more to a nation than just the military force, even if that's a component we'll see a lot of.

The Infestation may create temporary alliances for a while, but back-stab them later. Also, the Infestation may trade food for other resources anonymously, and may ally with other infestations like The Lucifern hosts.
