Star Labs - Metropolis
July 4th - 12:06 pm
Joey Wilson, A.K.A. Jericho

For maybe the third time that week, Joey found himself in Star Labs, enduring yet another series of examinations. All the lab-coat wearing scientists moved around him chattering to themselves as he lay on the uncomfortable operation table. He could tell what they were all thinking. They were all worried that the terrifying Deathstroke had done something to him. It wasn't just them though. Even the Justice League were worried. As a matter of fact, a couple of league members were currently watching over him from around the room. While today it was a combination of Plastic Man, Black Lightning and Black Canary, Joey was usually joined by Batman himself, along with the teen wonder, Robin. For this, Joey was extremely thankful though, despite the uncomfortable nature of his surroundings. This was due to the fact that the last time he had been left alone, his father had come back. The mercenary Deathstroke had taken him away and experimented on him. Why? Who knows, but Joseph had to agree that these tests were necessary as the man could have done anything to him.

Despite the slight pain of the prodding and poking, the teenager cooperated well, wanting to help as much as he could. Besides, he didn't want to spoil what was bound to be such a marvelous day. Today he was joining the Young Justice program. Today he was going to make some new friends.

"And I think that we're just about done for today, Joseph!" The voice of the middle-aged scientist snapped him out of his thoughts. "You feeling okay, son?"

Not wishing to be a problem, Joey gave the man a nod. Years ago he would have actually spoke, but now that obviously wasn't possible. He assumed that that would be a problem with this new team, although in the past, if it wasn't about his music, he tended to be a bit of a sheep anyway.

Feeling a hand on his shoulder, Joey turned to find Black Canary giving him a reassuring smile. "You better go get changed Jericho!" She spoke with a soothing, almost motherly tone. Joey was glad as his encounter's with Canary had been his friendliest since his time among the Justice League members. As great as Batman was, he could be extremely glum!

Rising to his feet, Joey put his hand to his mouth, signing "Thank you" before turning and heading towards the door, Plastic Man leader the way to the locker room, he goofy smile making Joey chuckle.

"B-One-One"

Jericho stepped out awkwardly from the Zeta Tube, his hands clutching each other behind his back. The room in which he entered was vast, and already full of other seemingly costumed teenagers. He stared around him, mouth gaping as he tried to take everything in. He recognized many around the room, having seen many from news broadcasts. The remainder he knew from photos which he had been shown during his brief visits to the Bat-cave over the past few weeks. Ahead of the group, stood the apparent founding members of this little group. Nightwing, Kid Flash, Aqualad and Supergirl. Though the gathering crowd, he gave them all a brief smile, before moving off to the side, spotting a window.

Here he once again stood in awe. Honestly, Jericho had never imagined that he would one day be looking down on the whole world. Out of sheer habit, he once again signed the words "Thank you", directing them down at his home.

Turning back around, he once again joined the rest of the costume heroes and began awaiting his instructions, smiling happily as he did so.
Nightwing can, batman had him learn it just in case.

Yeah I had a feeling that Batman would probably do that! Batman probably prepared Dick for absolutely everything!

Woo! :) Shall try to get a post up as soon as possible! Thought I'd ask though, which characters would be able to communicate with ASL? I thought possibly Nightwing and Cyclone? Maybe Slobo since he's able to speak thousands of different languages?
um bump?

Quentin gave the two an apologetic look as the two thought about what had happened before starting to massage the sides of his head in circular motions. That psychic trip had really taken its toll on him! Especially when that... that thing spoke to him. Never see or speak of it again or you're next? Well that was certainly a cheery thought. However he decided not to trouble the others on it. As really, what could they do? Sure Spidey could go all vigilante on it's ass and Valeria could go all science time and build a giant inator of sorts, but that still probably wouldn't solve anything. Franklin's reality powers could probably help, but from what Quire had heard, the guy apparently didn't have much control over them and accidentally destroying the universe was certainly something the new and improved Quentin Quire wanted any part in.

He nodded and took the newspaper clipping from Franklin's hand as he began to talk again. The Young Avengers? Quentin was actually surprised no one had done such as thing sooner. The Avengers had been around for years after all so surely a bunch of teenagers would have done it eventually. At the appearance of the Fantasticar Jr, Quentin just had to smirk. A flying car? This day was just getting better and better!

Quire smirked as he caught sight of Valeria. He could obviously tell even before she spoke that she disliked the idea and once she did it was hard for Quentin to stop himself from letting out a laugh at the "fanboy squad" remark. She certainly wasn't wrong! Fanboy Squad. Heh. Quentin liked that. At Valeria's remark about them being untrained vigilante's, Quire turned and gave a short salute to Spider-man. "I'm sure she didn't mean you mate!" He said with a smile.

Heading towards the car, he turned back to look at the trio. "I guess I can check for these guys while we're in the air!" Quentin held up newspaper clipping as he spoke. "I agree with Val here! Would be best to not piss off the super-powered parents!"

It'll be interesting to see Slobo and Jericho interact with each other since they're basically the exact opposite of each other!

Brief Bio:
From a very early age, Joseph a very talented musician, with many believing him to become the next big sensation. Before he was 10, he had already taken part in several talent competitions around the county, accumulating a collection of trophies. What no one knew however, was that Joseph was actually the illegitimate son of the legendary mercenary, Deathstroke. Throughout the boy's childhood, Deathstroke paid him regular visits, watching from afar to see if him and his mother were okay. This of course wasn't that special, as Deathstroke had in fact fathered a number of children who also received such visits on occasion.

When Joseph was twelve, a terrorist named the Jackal who often fought against Deathstroke discovered Joseph's identity. He took the boy hostage in order to extract information from Deathstroke. Luckily Deathstroke managed to rescue his son, but not before one of Jackal's men cut his throat. As a result, Joseph was rendered mute.

Regretting his actions, Deathstroke cut all ties with his children, but not before relocating them and the rest of their families. It was during this time that Joseph discovered his meta-human powers, with him accidentally taking possession of his teacher during school. After the incident managed to correct itself, Joseph was taking in by Star Labs, who sought to find the source of his abilities. However he was soon broken out by Deathstroke, who had heard of the boy on the news and also wished to discover how the boy had gotten his abilities, believing him to have possibly inherited them from himself.

While experimenting on the child, the facility in which he had been working in was attacked by the Justice League, who had been contacted by Star Labs. They managed to rescue Joseph, although Deathstroke managed to escape. Over the next few weeks, Joseph was put under the protection of Batman, who believed that placing him at a facility such as Star Labs would be danger. Discovering the boy's potential, the caped crusader decided it would be best to place the boy on the Young Justice program.
Notes:
Due to his incident with The Jackel, he is mute.
Not a fan of back to back posting so does someone want to pop in quickly before me?

Also why don't we set the Young Avengers to go try and stop a bank robbery or something? And then The FantastiCrew (name still pending) can turn up?
Apologies for the shitty post! Shall be better next time!

"So... So did no one bother to get me some coffee?"

Quentin groaned as he leaned against the roof's railing before sliding slowly to the floor, where he held his head. That had been different from what he had expected. When the Richard's Duo had first spoke of Jack's disappearance, Quentin had figured it was just your average super-villain dangling the boy over a shark tank or something, nothing like this. No, this was new. This was scary. The mutant turned his head and looked upwards at the three above him. While Spider-man's face was obviously covered, Franklin and Valeria's were full of concern and worry. Quentin thought back to when Franklin had first informed him of his task. The kid obviously was close to loosing it. How the hell was he supposed to break the news that some evil asshole was out there tormenting their friend?

Quire shook his head vigorously in his hands once more as he rose to his feet. Not baring to look either of them in the eye, he kept his eyes glued to his feet.

"I...I found him." He began, steadying his voice. "I'm not going to lie to you mate, it wasn't pretty. I couldn't find where he was but..." He trailed off. Stuffing his hands in the pockets of his cardigan he gave Valeria a feeble look before continuing. "There's something there with him. Something powerful. Hence the whole thing just then! I want to help though... if there's anything else that I can do!"
