X-Men: The Grinder Chronicles

Trey Abidemi's morning wasn't that different from everyone else sitting in the seemingly newly built auditorium. With one hand he clutched his morning coffee, with the teen using the other to operate his phone in order to connect to the college's apparently top of the range wifi. Every couple of seconds, he shot his eyes up to the headmaster at the front in order to not appear rude although honestly he wasn't paying that much attention. Once the guy's speech came to a close, Trey his best to give a short round of applause like those around him, which proved fairly difficult due to the fact that his hands were full.

Coincidentally, Trey's phone now decided to finally connect to the wifi, so after pocketing it, he rose to his feet. Deciding it was a good idea to mingle, a group entered the room and started to seemingly cause some trouble. Trey eyed their apparent leader. Blue hair. Punkish clothes. Baseball bat. "Attractive." He found himself whispering that last part to himself, only to snap out of his gaze half a second later before staggering onwards.

His eyes scanned the crowd, picking out what looked to be a humongous four armed lizard. He gave the being a double-take before cautiously approaching. He milled around him as the lizard seemed to be explaining himself to another freshman. Trey didn't catch his name, but he could tell from both the accent and the suit that this guy was actually quite sophisticated. He decided to hide his surprise as the fellow mutant seemed to be having a bad enough time dealing with the constant questions from the freshmen.

Deciding to intervene he stepped forward. "Hey man, nice suit!" He gave the tall mutant a smile before continuing. "A custom one like that must have cost a fortune!"

Halt

Name: Trey Abidemi
Alias: Halt
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Homosexual
Appearance:
Trey appears quite young for his age and stands at around 5”8. He is usually always found wearing a shirt and tie, regardless of the weather.
Powers:

• Temporal Stasis – Halt is able to generate a sort of translucent energy bubble and immobilise anything inside it. Truthfully, Halt is actually freezing time in these bubbles, although this has yet to be discovered. Trey however is able to enter these bubbles and move freely without being affected. The bubbles are usually fairly small in size, with the ability to fit a small group of people within, however he has the capability to generate “time bubbles” on a much larger scale, with Halt having once produced a bubble with a diameter of just under 1km, “freezing” the majority of his hometown for around 24 hours. He tries to no longer create bubbles of this size, out of fear of repeating that incident.
• Time Travel – Halt has the ability to transport the contents of his bubbles through time, although strangely is able to change the past without creating alternate realities. Trey has yet to discover this ability, and it may be several years before he is able to do so.

Bio:
Trey grew up in a small town near Houston, Texas. Due to being one of the only black families in town, he found himself the frequent target for bullies; be that kids in the playground or simply racist adults. That didn’t stop him though, as Trey kept his head high and tried his best to continue with his studies.

When he was around 13, Trey was attacked on the way home from school by a group of local high schoolers, with one of them hitting him with a bat. After the third hit to the ribs from the baseball bat, Trey’s mutant abilities manifested. To his surprise he froze his attackers, although they weren’t the only victims of his outburst. He discovered that he had somehow encased the majority of the town in some kind of bubble, seemingly freezing everything and everyone inside.

Realizing that it was him who had caused it, Trey spent the next 24 hours trying to make the bubble disappear. Once it had, he and his mum fled town. He spent the next couple of years of his life living in the outskirts of Los Angeles. Here he began his new life, training his abilities in his spare time.

After graduation, he got accepted into the Mutant College of Liberty and Equality, otherwise known as the Grinder.

Notes:Due to time travel being obviously very overpowered, that ability won't be explored unless permission is given from Eternity.

Young Justice 2020: Zero Year

Despite having the world’s fastest man as his sponsor, Dominic Miller still managed to be one of the last to arrive at the Young Justice Tower. It wasn’t because he didn’t wish to be part of the program, in fact, the teenager actually really liked the idea of being part of another team, despite how his time with his last one went. No, the reason they were late was because Dominic was having too much fun annoying the Flash, who as it turns out gets really impatient if you decided to stop and gaze at every building you came across in excitement. It was the little things in life that Dominic loved most.

Dominic’s fun was cut short after a while when the scarlet speedster finally list his patience. Grabbing hold of him, the Flash held up the teen’s head to avoid whiplash and shot off. Dominic wasn’t that bothered though, as really he wasn’t that interested in Star City’s apparent beauty. The Young Justice headquarters however? Now that was a thing of beauty. During the tour led by Sharknado or whatever the robot was called, Dominic’s eyes darted around in awe at all the gizmos and tech that lined the place, although whenever the Flash looked in his direction he slumped his shoulders and acted as if he was bored. He didn’t want ol’ Flashy thinking he was enjoying himself now!

After a while, he was shown to his new room. It was large than his room at his latest foster home, yet more bare. His room back there had been covered in blueprints, rough notes and even the occasional playboy poster. Dominic came to the conclusion that it probably wouldn’t take long until this place ended up looking the same.

He quickly changed, swapping the Ray-Bans he had been wearing with his mask. He pulled on the rest of his Kid Rogue attire before leaving the room, fiddling with one of his grenades as he did so. While he wasn’t actually doing anything with it, it was always fun when people found him playing with a live grenade. Catching the sound of people talking, he slouched his way into the kitchen and leant against the doorway watching.

While looking around at the group, a few of the so-called heroes he laid eyes on made him raise his eyebrow. Especially the winged one. Going by his knowledge of old league members he had seem on the news, he assumed it was one of Hawkwoman’s people.

“Name’s Kid Rogue, Feathers” He said coolly. “You’re obviously far from Thanagar!”

Honestly I'm a fan of both! Film-wise I prefer the MCU although I'm really looking forward to the new DC lineup of films! DC has the best TV shows though; be that the cartoons or the CWverse!
