Player Name: Natty
Character You Wish To Play: Troll, AKA Gunna Sijurvald
Moral Alignment: Walking the line
Affiliation: Guardians of Knowhere, formerly the Asgardian Magzi Trolls

Character Origin & Backstory

One of the most hated and feared beings throughout the nine realms, the trolls lived as small nomadic tribes, wandering throughout Asgard, Vaneheim, Jotunheim, and Svartalfheim. The Magzi, the most feral tribe of trolls, had been temporarily settled in the realm of Asgard when they raided a group of travelling merchants. A bloody massacre followed, with the trolls tearing down their prey with ease. One life however was spared. The tribe’s chief, H’roth, took one of the merchants, a young woman prisoner. She would have been happier to have been killed in the attack, due to H’roth deciding to make her one of his many “wives”. Nine months later, the woman gave birth to a child. H’roth’s daughter. Unfortunately the woman died shortly after giving birth.

The child, despite her Asgardian looks, was raised by the Magzi due to her heritage. Over the years, the girl grew into a feral beast, clothing herself in the skin of a dead troll and using nothing but her teeth and strength to hunt with the rest of her tribe, feasting on the carcass anything they caught; animal or Asgardian.

She, along with numerous other Magzi Trolls, were soon apprehended by the mighty Odinson, who after discovering that she was part Asgardian, brought her back to the city of Asgard. Here, the Asgardian’s gave her the name Gunna, after her mother. They also tried to introduce her to Asgardian culture, as well as somehow wipe the teachings of the Magzi from her mind. They were met with little success, with Gunna, nicknamed Troll by the guards, attacking any who came near her. While the Odinson and the rest of the Asgardians refused to give up, she began to receive fewer tutoring sessions, as well as being kept in the Asgard dungeon.

On the dawn of Ragnarok, several inmates of the dungeon who had heard or sensed the coming end, architected a grand breakout of the facility. Gunna, was led by a mixed group of rogue Asgardians and Dark Elves out of the dungeon, with the group passing through the armoury on their way. Here, they sought to retrieve their equipment, as well any additional weapons they could use for their escape. During this time, Gunna began to inquisitively explore the armoury, with her soon discovering Jarnbjorn, the Odinson’s former weapon. Drawn to the power of the battle axe, Gunna claimed it as her own, before continuing with her escape with the group, with them travelling through a hidden portal in the Asgardian mountains.

Strangely, Gunna was later discovered by a group of Ravagers on a distant planet, located near Knowhere, the ancient severed head of a Celestial, as well as the home of the Collector’s infamous museum. The Ravagers, finding Gunna sleeping among the eaten bodies of her fellow escapees, decided to capture her, selling her into the Collector’s collection on Knowhere. Here she encountered the Collector himself, as well as another one of his keepsakes; a dog from the planet Earth named Cosmo. During their times in the museum, Cosmo began to communicate with a reluctant Gunna through the use of telepathy, an ability the animal gained after experimentation from the Collector. Gunna soon went through similar experimentations herself, with her receiving a Translation Implant.

During her time among the Collector’s collection, Gunna soon began to warm to Cosmo and the way he spoke to her in her head. She became more calm, as well as her learning to see the animal as more than simple prey.

That was when the Kree attacked, practically destroying Knowhere and the Collector’s museum. Luckily, Cosmo and Gunna were some of the few survivors of the attack, with the two managing to get free from their holding cells. They managed to find refuge in a secure sector of the Knowhere station, where they watched their former prison, the Collector’s museum, burn to the ground. Using his telepathic abilities, Cosmo accessed the mind of their attackers, with him learning that this attack had merely been a means for them to retrieve a powerful weapon. A weapon which they planned to use to attack the planet Xandar!

Cosmo, along with Gunna who wanted to remain with her new fuzzy friend, decided that it was up to them to stop them. Forming the Guardians of Knowhere after the arrival of X-51, a spectacular machine man from the planet Earth, the three ventured in X-51’s ship, The Shockwave Rider, to Xandar, with the heroes seeking to stop the carnage.

Powers & Abilities
Due to being an Asgardian and Troll hybrid, Gunna possesses a mixture of all of the various superhuman abilities of each species, including superhuman strength, speed, stamina and durability. She also has an extended longevity, although due to her troll heritage, this isn’t to the extent of most Asgardians. From her troll physiology, Gunna possesses superhuman senses, in the form of both heightened smell and hearing, as nearly perfect vision due to trolls mostly living underground.

Due to the differences in her superhuman durability to that of her former Magzi Troll brethren, Gunna wears the skin of a former Magzi Troll for extra protection, with the fur-like armour being resistant to even some of the most advanced weaponry. After being captured by the collector, Gunna had a Translator Implant inserted into her neck, which allows her to understand and communicate using many of the languages of almost every known species in the universe.

Gunna also now wields Jarnbjorn, a battle axe forged by Dwarves that Thor wielded long before Mjolnir. Due to the weapon’s enchantments, it is able to even pierce the armour of Celestials or armour created using Celestial technology.

Gunna? It’s time for wakink up now Gunna…

Gunna Sijurvald did as she was instructed, her right eye opening slowly. Her eyes adapted to the darkness quickly, the room falling into shape in a matter of milliseconds. Room wasn’t really a grand enough word to use to describe where the young troll girl found herself. Ahead of her, through the illuminated darkness, was an enormous cathedral like hall, filled to the brim with the strangest collection of items she had ever seen. The walls seemed to be line with transparent containers of all sorts of sizes, each containing something different from exotic looking fauna, to monstrous beasts and monsters. Gunna bared her teeth and growled loudly at the sight of such creatures, only to be dumbfounded when none of them seemed to react. He barked once more, slamming her first angrily against the glass in front of her.

I don’t think they hear you…

Gunna reeled around at the comment, intent to see where it had come from. It took her a few seconds to wonder as to why she had been unable to hear which direction the sound had come from, before she realized that the voice had been all in her head. Panicking, the girl launched herself around her container, gripping her head madly. Was she going crazy?

You are not goink crazy Gunna...

The return of the voice, whose accent confused Gunna greatly, didn’t help one bit. She continued her panicking for several moments, launching herself about, before sinking to the floor of her container in a feat of acceptance. The glass place had made her crazy.

No crazy. Is me. Cosmo…

That was when Gunna spotted it. It was sat a few metres ahead of her in its own container, watching. The animal seemed to be wearing a set of strange, white garments, fitted with what appeared to be a bright red collar. It was the face that excited Gunna the most however. She knew at once from the long snout and floppy ears what it was. Food.

“KILL!” The Asgardian shouted as she leapt to her feet eagerly once more, diving forward towards the animal. It would seem that she had forgotten about the transparent walls of her own little pod, as she hadn’t even left the ground for even a second when she collided with the glass. She fell as quickly as she had risen, landing in a heap on the floor.

In seconds she had readjusted herself and was back on her feet, hands against the glass and staring hungrily at the beast. The animal in question had barely moved, except to tilt its head and wag its shaggy tail.

Not prey. I is Cosmo…

“Cosmo food!” Came Gunna’s gruff reply, as she licked her lips greedily.

Cosmo no food. Is friend…

Gunna paused for a second, before looking at Cosmo in a very confused manner.

“Friend?”

Come onnn @Natty :P Finish troll so @Dedonus can give the Guardians the green light :P

Nah man, no rush.

Don't tell me what to do! You're not my real mom!

@Sep I was actually considering looking into Star Lord.

Go ahead man! Cosmo doesn't have to be in charge, t'was just an idea!
Not too happy with my post but oh well! Shall begin work on Troll shortly!

“I don’t believe you.”

America Chavez rolled her eyes at the young mutant’s comment. Why did Quentin Quire have to be such an asshole? She was currently sat in the kid’s room, having just explained who she was and what was going on. Well, she didn’t tell him everything. Certainly not everything about her past, but she kept the key points, as well as enough to keep the story somewhat realistic. Yet the little punk still didn’t believe her. To be fair, that was partly her fault. Months ago, after an incident with another telepath, America had taken up some psychic defence classes, thus meaning that Quire can’t read her mind.

Not wanting to waste any more time, America rose from her seat and glared at the mutant.

“I’m not loco, Quire.” She said, rubbing her temple in frustration.

Quentin simply laughed in response. “That’s what all the crazies say you bitc..”

Before he could finish, America had darted forward, her hand outstretched. Pushing hard, she shoved the mutant into the wall with such force that the drawers and shelves around the room shook for a brief second, dust floating off the tacky furniture as it did so.

“Don’t make me hurt you, Chico.” America growled threateningly.

After recovering quickly from the force and pain, Quentin took a second to catch his breath, before glaring into the girl’s eyes. Instead of the look of sheer panic that America had been expecting, a grin flashed across his face.

“Oh will you now? I highly doubt that.” He sneered. “You see Ms. America, unlike most of my pitiful generation, I happen to watch the news. I’m fully aware of what you’re capable of due to that little stunt you pulled yesterday downtown. How many people was it that you nearly killed during that fight, again?”

America tightened her grip angrily at the comment, her brow furrowing.

“I’m pretty sure I saw S.H.I.E.L.D. take you in after that. Yes, I know who S.H.I.E.L.D. are. I’m a genius after all. Now, I’m pretty sure that they won’t be too keen to hear that you’ve put yet another life in danger, right?”

America paused for a few seconds, before loosening her grip slightly. The kid was right. S.H.I.E.L.D. was still watching her. For all she knew, they could be camped out right outside in a van across the street, watching. She didn’t want to get on their bad side again. She knew full well what they were capable of if motivated. However she needed Quire. He was her last hope.

“Please Quire…” She managed, still trying to maintain her anger. “I need you.”

“Well too fucking bad.”

He was enjoying this. The annoying prick was really enjoying all of this. America could see the sheer joy in his eyes. Now that was the Quentin Quire she knew. He literally gets off of attention and manipulation. He was completely in control here, and he certainly knew it. There was no way she was going to get him to help; he was having too much fun.

That was when America had an idea. She let go of the teenager, causing him to drop back onto his feet. He appeared confused at the action, with the confusion increasing when America began to step away.

“That’s too bad then, I guess.” She began, shrugging her shoulders in acceptance. “I guess I’m not surprised. I mean, all the other you’s I met wouldn’t have done a thing either! I guess you’re just as predictable Quentin.”

With that, she turned on her heel and headed towards the door.

“Wait!” Quentin called, panic in his voice. “What.. what do you mean? Where are you going now then?”

America smirked slightly, before turning back to the mutant. “I don’t know! Maybe the X-men?”

Then she was gone. America moved back through the house quickly, giving the mutant’s parents a quick wave as she passed through the hall. In seconds she began to cross the lawn. Once she was halfway across however, she began to count.

“3…2…1”

Instantly, the front door burst open behind her. Out stumbled Quentin, with the young mutant rushing to catch up to the hero, pulling on a coat as he did so.

“Wait!” He called, as he raced up behind her. “I’ll do it!”

So predictable.
My idea @Natty @The Kid Lantern if you're alright with it is that the GotG are a semi established group already and stumble upon Mexxa in space near the ruins of Xandar.

I'm fine with that.

After some thought, I had the idea of having Cosmo being the NPC leader of the Guardians who forged the team in a similar manner to how he was tasked with bringing together the Annihilators in the comics. That's if this is ok with you and @The Kid Lantern anyway!

I think that i'm going to go ahead with playing Troll as a guardian since i thought that it would interesting to have a girl running around with an axe and furs in space!
<Snipped quote by Natty>

Well I am going to do Nova. So that's a thing. Also KL has settled on a char for the Guardians as well. I think playing a sentient dog shouldn't prove that difficult :P If he was a standard ordinary dog then that'd be hard.

Well if that's the case then i'll probably go with Cosmo. I'm still thinking about Troll however, as like i said i had a Guardians idea for her, so i'll think on it!

In the meantime, I'll begin work on an America Chavez post later today!
I'm trying to decide who i actually want to play as for my third and final character! I have several ideas you see!

As I said yesterday, Cosmo the Russian Space Dog was a possible idea. Would give me an opportunity to interact with Sep and Kid L if they both decided to go with cosmic characters (and i guess Dedonus with Ms. Marvel if she doesn't stay on Earth). Only problem i foresee is the fact that i would be roleplaying an actual dog, which may prove difficult.

Also like the idea of playing Quentin Quire, AKA Kid Omega. I'm basically setting that character up as an NPC with my Ms America storyline so i already have a potential idea as to what his character is like and what to do with him. However, we already have a mutant who's a telepath and a telekinetic with Jean Grey (the same thing applies with Cosmo actually).

Also had an idea for Bentley 23 (as you can guess, I'm a fan of the young snarky assholes), who would basically be trying to decide if he wants to be like his "father", or a hero. This would possibly allow him to interact with the FF, but i don't know if Drew would like that since the FF are currently quite early in their career to start the foundation or anything! Powerswise, I was potentially going to give him equipment similar to that of the Wizard, as well as have him be a super genius (nowhere near Reed and Stark of course!)

Troll was also a potential character i thought about going with. Could lead to some interaction with Loki, Thor, or Valkyrie, due to her also being an Asgardian (well half Asgardian, half Magzi troll). Even had an idea for her to end up with the Guardians if that becomes a thing!
