It’s in bad taste

Piss off Freddy-boy, it was months ago!"

Yeah Freds, I’m sure Herman will find it funny! Sure as hell I do!

I still think it’s in bad taste” Fred Myers mumbled.

His eyes moved away from the custom-decorated Spider-Man cake in his teammate’s hands and up towards Riker’s main entrance. He wasn’t keen to be back here, having only been out for a month or two, although luckily this time it was only to collect someone; Herman Schultz, the notorious Shocker, as well as Fred’s former cellmate. The two had bonded during their time together, with the two having similar stories to tell as to how they ended up there, both of which involved Spider-Man. Yes, that’s right; Fred was a supervillain too. He was The Boomerang.

It was through Herman that Fred was introduced to the two gentlemen who were currently stood beside him. Morris Bench was Hydro-Man, a stupid name for a guy with a stupid power. The guy was essentially made of water, which in itself doesn’t sound too impressive. Apparently he had fallen in the ocean while a powerful experimental generator was being lowered into the ocean for testing. That origin story was nearly as unimpressive as his abilities. It was almost as stupidly convenient as suggesting that Spider-Man gained his powers after being bit by some radioactive spider. As if!

The jittery guy with the Spider-Man cake was James Sanders, and no, zero relation to the Colonel. This guy had superhuman speed. Calls himself Speed Demon. Pretty menacing name for a guy who spent most of his time foolishly stumbling around after women. Despite James’ annoyance, Fred still found him useful. With legs like that, he was a key asset to any robbery. Still, it still didn’t stop Fred from wanting to punch him one.

Fred had been rubbing his temple in frustration while Morris and James argued next to him about the best flavour of cake when the door opened in front of them. The three all looked up in unison to find Herman, a scowl covering his face. That wasn’t the only thing however. Scars covered most of his left cheek, with a few others around his lip. This was nothing new to Fred, who had seen most of them before he had gotten out, although they came as a huge surprise to both James and Morris.

Dude… What the fuck happened to your face, man?” James asked walking forward, still brandishing the Spider-Man cake in front of him.

The scowl on Herman’s face grew even worse as he laid eyes on the cake. Fred watched as the man took in a deep breath, evidently attempting to calm himself down.

That Spider-Prick, Okay James?” Herman declared loudly, suddenly letting go of his self-restraint. “That fucking Spider-Prick!

Herman lashed out, slamming his hand down onto the cake, knocking it out of James' hands. It splattered onto the floor into a pile of red and black. All Fred could do was stand there and laugh as James began to cry out in annoyance, while Herman in response began stamping on the cake's remains. He had forgotten how huge Herman's vendetta against Spider-Man. Sure he knew it was there; the hero had savagely attacked him a few months ago so he had a good reason to be peeved. But this rage was something else. Fred liked it.

Before anyone could do anything to calm the man down, Fred stepped forward, pushing past James and his cake and heading towards his newly-freed friend. Putting an arm around his shoulder, he shot Herman a smile.

Use that anger, Herman. Embrace it!” He instructed with a charistmatic cheer. “Because you’re going to need it!

Wha…what the hell are you talking about?” Herman spluttered, his rage now completely gone.

Herman, my old friend. We’re going to rob the Owl!

Plot twist: Make Cho older.

I guess I could have done that. However my personal opinion is that Cho's main thing is that he's nearly as smart as both Tony, Reed, Peter and all the other geniuses in the Marvel universe, yet is still only a kid. Giving him this huge potential to either save the world, or even become one of its greatest villains, much like when he nearly took down S.H.I.E.L.D.

I may go with Cho and Herc sometime in the future if Drew or someone else doesn't end up going down that route. Although this would probably only be when Tony is more established as Iron Man. And even then i might make him slightly younger to differ him from the other teen geniuses.

Also, I'll be working on my first Boomerang post tonight! :) Help finding a nice header image for my posts would be nice :P

I have genuinely thought about Hercules as a character for this not going to lie. Doing a reincarnated one who could even be Cho's sibling to really make for a fun duo.

I was planning on doing a tag team Hercules and Cho at one point before i decided on Boomerang, but i just felt that the whole point of Cho was that he is a teenage genius. A role which has kind of been taken by Tony and Reed so i didn't really see the point in introducing another one!

Player Name: Natty

Character You Wish To Play: Frederick "Fred" Myers AKA Boomerang

Moral Alignment (Hero, Villain, Walking the Line): Villain

Affiliation (what group/team/organization, if any, is your character affiliated with?): None as of yet.

Character Origin & Backstory:

Migrating from Australia into the US at an early age, Fred's mother sent him away to baseball for his first summer in the country, in an attempt to get the boy to make friends and to take his mind off the move and her recent divorce. Sending Fred to the camp turned out to be a good decision, as he quickly grew to love the sport, joining his local team after discovering he had the arm to be a great pitcher. He soon began to dream of pitching for a major league team one day. Amazingly this dream seemed to come true, with Fred becoming a professional baseball player in the minor leagues after graduating high school, before entering the major leagues a few years later.

However it was during this time that Fred seemed to fall into a bad crowd, and after a while built up a considerable dept with a local loan-shark. In an effort to payback his debts, Fred began taking bribes to loose games so that his loan-shark could bet on him. This plan backfired tremendously however, with Fred getting caught out and suspended from playing baseball any more. His life fell apart after that, with Fred simply staying home all day and refusing to leave the house.

That was when he was approached by Secret Empire, an international criminal organization who felt that Fred had the potential to be of great use for them due to his world-class pitching skills. Due to his Australian heritage, they aptly named him Boomerang, equipping him with a costume, as well as a collection of razor sharp boomerangs. After robbing a small bank in Brooklyn for the group, Fred wasn't happy with his cut, considering he had done the heavy lifting. Due to this, Fred gave an anonymous tip to the police on the group's location and had them arrested.

Keeping the suit, Boomerang soon branched out on his own, performing a variety of minor robberies. He was soon confronted by the amazing Spider-Man, and after a short scuffle, found himself behind bars. During his time in prison, he began to plot his revenge against the hero, forming a hatred for the guy. He soon discovered that his cellmate, Herman Schultz, had also been apprehended by Spider-Man, with the two bonding slightly over this. Herman soon suggested that they form some kind of team, in order to more easily complete heists, as well as have more firepower once the heroes turned up.

Returning to the streets of New York, Boomerang and Shocker brought this idea to life, inviting both Hydro-Man and Speed Demon to join them.

Powers and Abilities (What can your character do? What can't they do?):
While Myers has no real superhuman abilities, he is skilled in the area of creating and using complicated boomerangs of his own designs as weapons. Examples of his arsenal includes:

Explosive Boomerang: Detonates on contact, damage to all in one area.

Razor Boomerang: A boomerang capable of cutting through bone and flesh when thrown correctly.

Both of these designs are collapsible for easy concealment.

Supporting Cast:
Herman Schultz AKA Shocker: Herman was Fred's cellmate during his most recent stay in the slammer. After getting out the two stayed in touch, working jobs together. Herman is probably the closest thing Fred has to a friend, as well as being the one whom (unfortunately) introduced him to Hydro-Man and Speed Demon.

Morris Bench AKA Hydro-Man: A fellow super villain, Hydro-Man often teams up with Boomerang and Shocker when the opportunity arises.

James Sanders AKA Speed Demon: A speedster, James is as annoying as he is fast. Fred often finds himself wanting to throttle the guy, and the only reason he hasn't is because he's useful.

Sample Story Arcs: Give 2-3 ideas on where you want to go with your character.
Heist of the century: The gang attempt to get their hands on a legendary (possibly made up) artifact that currently lies in the hands of the infamous Kingpin of crime.

The New Sinister Six: After the spectacular Spider-Man apprehends the villainous Sinister Six, Boomerang decides that his crew is good enough as any to take the mantle!

The Thunderbolts: Apprehended once more, Fred finds himself on the raft, although things may not be as bad as they seem when he receives a unique offer from the warden.

Sample Post (This is used as an introduction to your writing – try to keep it to around three paragraphs or more and try to include dialogue):

Additional Notes:
@Natty You realize one of those is Hulks cousin right?

Hey, she ain't Herc's cousin so he has no quarrels with that!

and besides, Herc's already been with 2/6 of those people and I can imagine the same happening if Herc ever met the others! :P
Honestly wasn't too happy with how that post panned out! Just couldn't put the idea i had in my head into words properly so i guess i ended up cutting it short!

Ant-Man was only a five minute walk from his daughter's school by the time he realized that he had yet to change out of his costume. This meant that by the time he had managed to shuffle himself into a public toilet, squeeze out of his incredibly tight costume inside of an incredibly tiny cubicle, before heading back towards the school, he was already late. Peggy was going to be pissed. Even more than she had already been with Scott due to him having fought that Porcupine fella' while on the phone to her. Usually pissing off Peggy wasn't always a bad thing. Back in the day, Scott found that Peggy would often look back on his annoying nature and laugh. Now however, she merely threatened to stop him from seeing Cassie. That was a worrying prospect. Scott could barely bring to words how much his little girl meant to him. He would do anything to see her smile and hear her laugh. She was even the reason that he had become the Ant-Man in the first place. So anything that hindered his chances of seeing her was even worse than the villainous Doctor Doom in his books.

As he neared the school, Scott spotted Peggy at the top of the school's steps. His heart began to race once he saw her face, her nostrils flaring in anger.

"Shit."

He approached cautiously, giving her a small wave once he had been spotted. A wave that was sadly not reciprocated.

"You can't keep doing this Scott." Her voice seemed almost sad. "You can't keep letting Cassie down like this. She.."

"Wait, Pegs, I.."

"No Scott. She really wanted you here tonight. She wanted you to hear how well she's been doing."

Scott sighed and swore under his breath, placing his head into his hands. "I know, I know..."

"Scott, she loves you, Okay?" Peggy continued, placing her hand on Scott's shoulder reassuringly. "And I know you love her too and wouldn't do anything to purposely hurt her but..." She paused.

Scott gulped once more. He didn't like where this was going.

"You're a superhero Scott. You live a dangerous life. Cassie doesn't deserve that." With that Peggy turned to leave, heading down the stairs towards where her car was parked. Halfway there though, she stopped and turned back towards her ex-husband. "Me and Blake are going out of town next weekend. If you want to try and make it up to her, Cassie would love to visit Metropolis?"

The comment about Blake brought a spec of annoyance to Scott. He honestly couldn't believe that Peggy had even married the guy. He was an arrogant ass, and to make matters worse, he had been the cop who had busted Scott all those years ago. Maybe that was why? Maybe she loved seeing him wriggle in anger whenever he was brought up. Either way, Scott couldn't stay mad at Peggy for this. Especially not now. She was right to be mad; He did lead a dangerous life. Yet here she was, still throwing him a bone.

"I'd love to." Scott stammered, a smile spreading across his face. "Thank you Pegs."

"You're still an ass." And with that, Peggy continued on to her car.

Once the car was heading around the next corner, Scott finally let go, punching the air in excitement and squealing happily. Maybe today hadn't gone so badly after all!
